I jus wanna say, thank you for all the content you’ve put out for us younger wrestlers that need that kind of knowledge, I’ve been watching since my 2nd year in and these videos helped with alot of things.
I went to a few Indy shows in the late 90s, and once WWF: The Music vol. 3 came out, almost every show had at least one guy coming out to Edge’s theme. Even Stevie Richards did it.
Could you please share some tips on how to maximize being in a faction/stable/wrestling group and how to coexist with your faction mates when there's a clash of ideas.
I got absolutely lucky I had my first debut match in the first 4 months of training, even tho I was out really green I think the ring experience is helping me out a lot even though I still have a long way to go like strikes and heat work. But watching your videos and training is really helping me a lot
@@TilWeMakeIt really great promotion and some really good newer talent and the trainers/bookers are very supportive as well, recommend coming to check when you have the chance
I've been watching a lot of Old World Of Sport British wrestling, Portland Wrestling and also anything I can find on Catch Wrestling. I also listen to tons of Audiobooks about Wrestling. Listened to yours dozens of times. I don't wrestle anymore but have been working with some youngs guys. And I've always enjoyed the learning and teaching aspects of the business. So i thought why not try.
@TilWeMakeIt I started out watching Buddy Rose, Roddy Piper, and Raven's matches, but then I found some uploads of full shows, so the first full show I watched was 1982 01 16 Portland Wrestling is the title of the video. I'd send you a link, but UA-cam won't let me.
@@JaysinStatic13813 Is it stuff I can just search for on UA-cam? Other than an odd Piper or Martel match from Portland, I've never really taken the plunge.
I've done a couple battle royals on small shows, and a single tag match, but I still consider myself in that trainee period, so I'm still not quite in this phase yet (booo, injuries making that take even longer) but these all make sense. I can't imagine someone not thinking they have somewhere to improve, be it wrestling or anything else, though. But I know it happens. Lately, other than local indies, I've been re-watching old WCW (I'm in fall of '96, which is such a critical period in wrestling history) and I got a Wrestle Universe subs, so I'm also checking out more NOAH and intend to watch some more TJPW.
I'm right there with ya: watched Great American Bash '96 this week. And I just watched a TJPW card from June 11, seems dominated by rookies, but still a fun, quick watch. I think it was titled "Stick Out." Let me know what you think!
@@TilWeMakeIt I'll definitely check that out! What a funny coincidence that we were watching similar time periods recently. I'm a show or two away from Halloween Havoc 96, so the nWo and the cruiserweight division are both going full steam. I feel like I'm picking out at least one new transition or reversal every show. Will definitely watch that TJPW show! I might go do so right now, actually.
@@JackgarPrime I took SO much inspiration from the cruisers of that era. Nitro is a gold mine, if you can just distill it to the cruiserweight division stuff and move on.
One wrestler, late 90s in my hometown promotion, called himself The Coroner. I think you can guess by now who he emulated... The Undertaker. Move set, sit up, tombstone, all of it. Just wore prison coveralls as the only difference
I've recently started developing my character, and it has been so much fun testing new things. And the way I tribute my favorite and the reason I started wrestling is I once in a while throw a superkick to pay homage to Shawn Michaels.
No lie, when i started training in '96, i told my trainers i dressed up as Beetlejuice Art Barr for Halloween and wanted to revive the gimmick. I got the nickname beetle for years but alas never got to be an updated version of The Juicer. Thank you Bill Anderson and Jesse Hernandez from embarrassing myself.
@@TilWeMakeIt lot of tags involving Ikeda and Ishikawa, tag psychology is very solid in those, I also just want to be the best technical wrestler so I'm seeing what things I can take from them.
So on the taking feedback part. If all you are getting feedback from is local people who have never been outside the state for wrestling, will that REALLY do any good if you are trying to go further than the hometown crowd?
You can NEVER learn TOO MUCH about any facet of wrestling . And if you have the chance to get advice or pick the brain of a veteran willing to take time with you , and you don't ? That says a ton about your character . And no , not your wrestling character ! Also that is very disrespectful in my eyes . So much so that I cant even understand why you wouldn't want that .
