Thx for watching.
Marty has no idea how much utter respect we all have for him. What an amazing man!
"This is Marty Friedman" opens every door on Earth
XD
😂
I re
He is talking about Ragas in indian music in early 90s.
Just goes to show how well aware musically he always was.
Don’t let him fool you.
There is a lot of passion and hard work behind his success
I found it hilarious the way he roughly plops his $3k jackson down on the ground at the beginning to greet the dude.
Guitars are supposed to be tools, but for us it’s a big deal haha
He got it for free. It was his first endorsement guitar he got from Jackson.
he didn’t pay for it anyways
It's in a hard case too anyway
@@Nghilifa Which exact model is it?do you know?
Hearing and seeing Marty play and talk so openly about his playing is just so amazing for us guitar players. I really love how expressive he is with his use of vibrato! He's not shy to explore 'different' notes that some others may not use if they played the same solos and that really adds exotic flavour to his playing. I'm very inspired by him
I first heard him when he joined Megadeth. I had heard about him and Jason Becker, but never heard their music, but knew it was neo-classical. He and Mustaine complimented each other so well.
Man, if he hadn't become a massive rock star and guitar legend, he would have been the world's greatest teacher ❤️
Marty is one of those special guitar players. Unique and genuine. ✨
I really loved Marty’s work in Megadeth!
Awesome!
59:15 This guitar solo is just NON STOP
I was going to sift through this entire things for that. Thanks! He can truly make the guitar wail
Marty is universal
Always so professional and down to earth.
He is an amazing human being
Managed to get ahold of this video, melodic control and exotic guitar back in the 90s and I think I've watched them 100's of times. I also bought all of his solo albums up until and including "Music for Speeding". Also, my first electric guitar is a Jackson with shark fin inlays, so yeah. You might call me a Marty Friedman fan.
I'm not trying to be a dick but like 85% of every Jackson model ever made has sharkfin inlays
Awesome
Every guitarist tells me how easy his bends & vibrato are but yet like Beck Nobody sounds like him!
Marty is a great man, everytime, I'm impressed and amazed by the guy! He is the 'guitar god' of your 'guitar god'. And he is a great gentleman too!
0:00 you know it’s about to be a sick video when the first thing you hear is 60 cycle hum
martys music is unpredictably beautiful
Marty's one of the best guitar players ever ,and it's pretty awesome to have an amp with his name on it !!
Dave Friedman?
What I like about Marty is that as a guitarist, I'm not going "oh, that's alternate picked" or "he's playing legato now". For that matter, I'm never analysing things in terms of scales and modes. It's a refreshing approach learning.
Dragons kiss has been on non-stop repeat in my head for the last 25 years, it won't go away. I had hoped he would play it on video, but the pieces here were dubbed over with the record version...
I have this on VHS!! Had some good times watching this back in the day
No homo
I wanted a USA Jackson now for so many yrs but they are beyond what I can afford. I have played them in the music stores and they are super solid build and feel awesome. I remember when they were like 1800 now pushing 3000. I need a second job but my job is on the brink of disappearing as t is.
I'd get a cheap guitar if you don't already have one and play the shit out of it. Gigs will buy you a Jackson if you are serious
Just get a decent Mexican Jackson and mod it up like an American one
I remember hearing Marty Friedman saying to use 10's he said the Tone you get from size 10 to 46 will cause more of a challis on your finger tips but it's well worth it
This is so great, and inspiring, lord marty🤘🤘🤘
I watched this vid 15 years ago when I was learning how to play guitar. Marty was just like a god to me.
Terry Max he still isn’t?
Marty Friedman is the K.I.N.G 🏆
he amazes me, i think he's always thinking guitar music 24/7
Your middle finger and ring finger are fused together!! That’s a very good technique, making sure your bends are always backed up by at least one extra finger.
His tone is just awesome with that Duncan JB.
i fucking love this dude...
He's exactly right! His stuff is a bit crazy sometimes but that earlier stuff he played in the beginning is cool but more straightforward rock soloing. Could help learning it and progressing to his later stuff and picking up his tricks and kicks along the way
27:11 my mother when I start playing guitar
When he was talking about "crying notes" with the sustain and shaking tremolo, thats how "Judy" by Roy Buchanan is. Seriously. Check it out.
33:48 I'm Going... Spoiiiiiiiiing (keep pressing it) :P
59:18 Valley of Eternity Solo
I bought a Jackson Kelly as my first electric guitar because I like Marty. Cons: Hardcase is the size of the coffee table. And a very out of balance guitar but looks cool as heck. Sounds super duper. Saw him in Japan also. Great guy.
Haha that was my first guitar my parents got me for a birthday present because I idolized this man when I was younger. He's an amazing talent.
I wish he played Forbidden City completly!!!!
Only thing I would add is me myself I like some reverb and delay. I always like to have a delay ondialed in just right where ur not really hearing the notes repeat while playing but when u stop I have little tails but it also seems to create a more atmospheric touch and adds space while ur playing what’s out front.
So awesome man👍🎸🪓🪓🎸🔌
yup 💚
the camera work is a bit annoying but Marty did an absolutely fantastic job!
great vid!
thx! rockn rolly,hugo!
You are welcome Francis!!
He said ... quit drug at 17 but still he looks high here 🤣🤣
I like tuning with octaves!!
With distortion!! Lol You’ll definitely know if she’s out of toon when she’s crunchy!!
@@jeremyswalley8625 Yss
Marty "let's go back when I was 2 years old and could barely play."
Proceeds to rip 5 fret stretch solos at huge BPM's.
thanks for sharing
You are welcome!
I am sorry to twitter the bad bullshit. But I have to say you are the best of metal guitar master.
I love how the camera man can’t keep up with Marty.
At the beginning of the video it seems like he throws the guitar case, which made me move a little :C
Origato Mr. Legato !!
dragon kiss is very since ive been loving you
True if you play all the time you’re practising but I guess has practice and study if you’re really good and you probably done enough study When you just try heaps of different stuff that’s kind of practice I’m not that good I’m just learning so I study
Ace Frehley always gets a mention.
Does anyone knows what guitar he used in the clean, sounded brilliant in introduction album
Fernandes Strat
4:50 what song?
44:10 Sword of the Warrior
Cacophony
51:48 Vibrato Technique
👍
what is the song starting at 6:00???
What song was he playing in 6:04
Ha called it, as soon as he started playing I said man he played like Kiss / Ace Frehely. Then he said it himself
Marty, your the greatest! Thanks for all your lead work...... but..... do you pay someone to mute your strings for you when recording? What was that guy muting the first fret for You? Seriously?
10:42
4.48 just note or song
41:50
Very Weird Fingerings....
When you say getting high...... You mean......?
24:24 holy wars?
Lmao no, dragon kiss
I heard it too
Is the same arpeggio
G major arpeggio, same one as the Holy Wars solo.
G major arpeggio, he uses the same lick in Holy Wars third solo 👌
15:44 it seems like my dude had already set his mind on becoming a weeb huh
I think Dave Mustaine is a better guitar player because of Marty Friedman
UE achieves a lot
I wonder how Mitch probed Marty??? Lol just sayin !!! Not cool at all Marty… lmao 🤣
27:11 that's one way to eliminate ringing. Lmao.
Thank you very much!
You are welcome man!
