My grandad used to take me trainspotting at the bridge next to the Horton industrial estate in west Drayton in the 80s and 90s - thanks for memories of Thames Turbo’s (and slam-door DMUs before that), HSTs in Swallow livery, class 37s, 47s, the Yeoman stone trains etc.
Iver was the main stay of Sunday spotting with my grandfather round this period either from the relif line platform or the footbridge at the London end of the station
@@spompey there was a separate set of bridges ( practicing one along side the other just west of the M25 & east of Iver station which carried traffic along Thorney road south and a separate pedestrian only bridge which used to span the railway ( which is now sealed off since the electrification in the area ) but the old single lane bridge was replaced by a concrete twin lane road bridge & foot crossing
Fabulous video from 97 ,besides the great train footage it looked like a glorious summers day also it's hard to believe that all those cars behind the C47 some of which were land rover discovery's probably don't exist anymore . many thanks it was a pleasure to watch 😊
Many many thanks to you and your cat....meow...meow...meow...and I hope your trip to Yorkshire is an enjoyable one for both of you......Best wishes....Mark
All before electrification of God's Wonderful Railway happened. Seeing 165117 reminds me that it was the unit involved in the Ladbroke Grove incident later in the year when it passed a signal at red.
Yes it was now that you mention it....never forgotten drivers Mick and Brian and passengers involved......Many thanks for your interest in the channel and best regards.....Mark
Wow that was a very long car train being hauled by the 47
Quite a task for the loco......Many thanks and best regards.....Mark
