Hi coach, I read the book in 2019 recommended by you, since then I change my job for a better one, working hard on a Masters degree and I have a better home. Hard work, suffering but the feeling of accomplishment is awesome.

Trying to find more talks with you going deep into such topics. You should definitely do a philosophy podcast brother if you have the time. I think it would be very popular. Firas ive heard you talk about this book before. im one chapter in and basically stopped 95% of my daily smoking down to 1 a day. This paradigm stuff is deep man.
Hey coach thank you for this video. Habit 2 and 3 hit me hard. During quarantine i came to a realisation that what i am studying is not something that i am interested in or desire to persue, this has impacted my motivation and commitment and I created bad habits. This video helped me by giving me a virtual slap in the face telling me to be more proactive and to develop an outcome-oriented mindset.
Came to that same realization back in August. Finally plugged up the courage to drop out. Developed a bunch of unhealthy habits over the years trying to cope with the stress/depression that comes with forcing yourself to finish something that you have zero interest in.
@@bez1196 your post is so relevant to me. I created unhealthy habits to cope with the stress and to hide/ avoid the situation i am in. I have hard time making that change because i am very uncertain about it
@@rubenwanders7184 I can relate bro, but don't waste too much time trying to decide like I did. You need to spend some time figuring out who you are and what you want out of life. Some books that helped me come to that realization: 1) "Late Bloomers" by Rich Karlgaard, it provided an important paradigm shift in my thinking because I used to think (and maybe you do too) that I needed to succeed within a given time frame or my life would be over. 2) Dark Horse by Todd Rose, it's a critique of the so called "conventional" way of doing things i.e. the standardized system of education/achievement. 3) "No Fears, No Excuses" by Larry Smith, a very good guideline on how to find your passion..
I'm currently reading "The Art of Impossible" by Kotler. He makes it very clear in the first few chapters that you put yourself at a severe disadvantage if you choose to pursue something that you're not motivated by. You're essentially working against your own biology. People who achieve excellence do so by working with their biology and thus achieve flow states much more frequently and with less effort. You cannot achieve excellence in something that you're not passionate about. You will do ok at best. Which means that you will be competing against people who, unlike you, are really passionate about the field that you are in and for whom work does not feel as cumbersome as it does for you. They will produce higher quality of work with LESS energy while you will be fighting an internal battle every step of the way. Hope my posts were helpful to you.
I just came to this video and it was super helpful for me. My dad passed away a few days ago and I just realized I was letting down my dreams. I understood so many things... So, as you said, its time for me to pick this habits and put first thing first. So much love to you, Firas. I hope one day I get to meet you and pick some knowledge from you. Saludos desde México!

If you think you need to believe in a god in order to have objective morality, it's because you haven't heard believers calling The Atheist Experience when Matt Dillahunty is on the air.
Atheism has no objective morality, history showed that.. What is morally right roday might not be morally right tomorrow for atheists but Atheism is just following the chaging morality of community..
