    I had my 48" C1 since christmas eve last year. No issues here. Not even any burn in even though I have OLED brightness set to 100. just make sure to have "screen move" feature on in the OLED panel care menu. i love the TV so much!!! no regrets!

      @AKR for me yes, I've set the "peak brightness" setting to high. Still loving this beast of a tv. Especially when gaming on PS5. I think Lg updated it a lot since my last comment here.

    • @ebworbaness
      @ebworbaness 2 роки тому

      @AKR yes. Since your getting the c2, the brightness is a little more brighter than my c1. As long the room you are watching movies on is dark, youll have no problem. Also you'll need to calibrate the settings to maximize the brightness feature once you get the tv. It'll take lots of tweaks to get your "perfect" settings.

      @@ebworbaness Hey bro, how's your LG TV? I'm thinking of buying the 48-inch model for my PS5, do you think it's a good option? At the moment I'm using a normal TCL with a maximum of 400 nits. Do you think this LG TV is a bit brighter? Any burn-in issues or no issues?

    48 is not redundant it’s perfect for where my tv is in an alcove that can only take maximum 50 if I had a bigger one on the wall the light would reflect too much.

      Yes. Stunning TV. I'll wait for the C3 or whatever LG decides. Bought the C1 last year and it definitely does not fail to deliver with PS5 and especially PC gaming. Doesn't make any sense LG releases the same ol stuff yearly instead of every other year. Also, the only difference is the C1 from 2021 and CX from 2020 doesn't come in 42 inches. C1 is basically 50 inches in a 48 inch chassis.

    Happy to hear about the pre-calibration results. The C1 caught a ton of flack for poor pre-cal settings. If I'm spending an extra $500 it's going to be on a better model or bigger size TV, not a pro calibration. I think most people feel that way that aren't in the .5% of people all-in on this stuff. Glad to hear I can just go for the C2 and be good enough.

    I know I'm a bit late, but I asked this TV for Christmas and my birthday. Can't wait to receive it.
    55" was to big for my TV stand and my place. 48" seemed to the perfect choice to replace my 50" Samsung Full HD.
    Granted the C2 48" is just a little better version of the C1, but I hope it'll be a great choice. In fact I didn't choose the TV myself ^^

    In my case, I have an older u7300 43" LED TV that's 5 or six years old. It's still working fine. I am looking at the C2 as an upgrade. I'm in a low-income affordable housing unit. The bachelor apartment is about 450 sq ft total. So, I can't go too big or else it will take up too much space. The other factor I like about C2 is they have significantly reduced weight. Given that these units were built to council house standard and have aluminum structures I have been hesitant to try, and wall mount my existing TV. But the C2 with its lower weight might be an option for this. So 48 might be a good fit for my needs and the needs of some of your other viewers and a nice step up for my room environment without going too big. I and others like me might be where this 48" is aimed at not people moving from a C2 which is something you might want to consider in future reviews.😊😊

    I dont know whether Im going to get a C1 or a C2, but the 48" is definitely not redundant as a size. I cant accomodate a 55" as a bedroom and gaming TV, but sit too far from it for a 42" to be optimal. Any thoughts on how long the C1 will be sold alongside the C2?

    If you have bought a C1 from John Lewis in the last 28 days then make sure you do a never knowingly undersold claim. Richer Sounds is offering to 48" for £850 and the 55" for £940. I paid £999 at JL but they matched the price today so got £150.30 refunded. So C1 48" cost me £850. I was so lucky I noted it as was on day 28.

I have the Apple TV so it goes into screen saver mode within minutes after activity. I was on the fence vs TCL 646 as it seemed to have far less black crush and better white as the VA panels get better the blue in whites of my S6 tablet and A52 5G phone shows up more, factor in mini led brightness with lack of crush and HDR may have some advantage. In the end I decided the OLED response time would be better for gaming on PC and Series X.

  • @loki76
    @loki76 2 роки тому +3

    LG has said the 48 and 42 doesn't make any real use of the EVO panel. They are too small and pixels space is tight.
    The processing is there, but with out that extra brightness it might not be as evident either..
    I think the 48 inch become kind of useless now with 42 inch. It's just there in an awkward middle. Why not go 55" if you have it in a room for movies and TV shows. And why not go 42" for PC and small room.
    This likely explains why 42" almost cost the same.
    For bigger difference from C1 go 55 and 65" even more so.

    I hope my goal to make this quick pans out... I have the 48" C1. I stream 4K off if Xbox Series X and upgraded my UHD BD player to the Panasonic DPUB-9000. If I had a concern its that as your 48" C2 review stated the OLED panel ..pixels size of.. will not perform as the new C2 55" and above. I installed the C1 48" and found it darker (faces of characters facing the canera) than I wished and I love inky blacks
    (Test : opening scene of Pitch Black or Avatar ) and not as big of WOW factor when I bought the LG OLED E6, which really taught me about High Dynamic Range, But with the right adjustments and viewing distance was I blown away with the detail and color of UHD Star Wars The Last Jedi from the 4K Bluray Disk on the Panasonic 9000.
    Pixel density, and sze matters when choosing viewing distance. Do you think you could explain how these apply to new brighter C2 55", 65" or 77" or more and the new chip/ECO Panlel. A great straight up honest review. Thanks

    I want to point out 2 things that i learned from certified ISF calibrators. The black Crush is normal on any brand new Oled panel. They need a few hundreds hours to settle to reveal more shadow details. The more important point: if you only use a colorimeter without a spectro they always will report too much red in the readings with woled (wrgb) screen. The colorimeters have calibration variances up to 3 Delta E between them. You can offset it by a bit by using the wrgb oled EDR offset in calman in the meter menu. Not the rgb oled its not for these tv its for non white pixel oled using rgb only like a smartphone. I hope this help you and people here. Also because of the wrong meter reading wrgb oled have a tendency to look more green after a d65 calibration without having the colorimeter profile from a spectro. Its needs to be profiled from this specific screen at a Time due to panel variance. Cheers i love your room!

    Just buy the C1, period.
    Edit: Sony upscaling is not better than what the C1 offers, and anyone willing to sell their televisions every year just to get the newer models is stupid and insane. Unless you are reviewing it, then you really have no good reason to upgrade. Of course, this mostly has to do with people and their vices to have the latest and greatest. I actually have OCD, and I do not struggle this much with having to have everything. Also, anyone saying that the C2 has "more detail" than the C1 is insane. Every side by side comparison I have seen shows the C1 looking better than the C2 when it comes to sharpness in 4k. The reason for this is the brightness being the preliminary factor this year. It is not like I am saying much, but I think that 4k content on a 4k screen is more important, but sure, trying to make everything look as 4k as possible helps, but that will never truly happen. If you can afford a C1 or C2, then you can afford higher quality channels that will actually make a difference, but I see no use for lower-quality broadcast anyway, at least in my personal opinion and for my personal use ( I can understand wanting to save money, but why at this point). If the C2 looks at all sharper, then it is only on content that is 720p or lower; they use temporal methods. Even then PPI and other factors can come into play, so none of this is actually conclusive. If you are using a console that is outputting at 4k, even if a game or Blu-ray is not native to 4k, you will not see a difference whatsoever, as the television is not doing any sort of upscaling from there. The problem is that the C2 may actually look worse, because it seems like their native 4k processing has taken a small dive. Also to mention: brightness makes no difference between sizes. All C1s, no matter the size, will have the same brightness, even if the measured nits on smaller models may be slightly lower. The only thing that would make a difference here is panel variance, as the 48 inch WBC panel I have pushes the claimed brightness of the 65" version. The difference is 20 nits between a 48 inch C1 and a 65 inch C1, but the 48 inch model can still push 840-850 nits in vivid mode. The smaller the pixel, the less measured brightness you need for the same luminosity. The pixel aperture ratio and PPI allow the image to be more refined and sharper on a smaller model as the pixels are smaller no matter how far you sit from the screen. The detail should be all the same, as the processing should be exactly the same. In this comparison, the C1 looked much brighter in many of the shots, but this could the camera, off angle focus, and the C2 still burning in it's pixels through use. This barely makes a difference, but LG continues to claim at least a 20 percent increase in brightness behind their larger models. This is another farce, but they marketing they claimed to begin with was a 30 percent increase; the only place I see this is in their largest G2 model. The smaller C2 model shown here is only pushing G1 levels of brightness at most. The C1 is already bright enough, and image processing is more important to me, and honestly, I prefer the colors and contrast I see on the C1 better. The C1 is not only cheaper, but it seems that you get the better image-processing and overall image quality.
    To my eye, the C1 looked better in terms of contrast, detail, motion, and sharpness, so I rest my point.

    Is it bright enough? I mean it's 48 inch... I compared the 48 and the 55 version in the shop so i couldn't see if it's bright enough only that the 48 inch version has better image quality. Maeby cuz of the pixel density. And 1 more question is it true the smaller models like the 42 and 48 inch are more likely to get burn in because of the heat dissipation.

      C2 should be able to reach higher FPS but I didn't check it properly. Also, the 42'' size (or even 43 if it exists) is suitable for getting a "cinema size without moving your neck" experience in a ~90cm deep desk (you need a desk this deep, so you can reach Retina separating your eyes to the screen 84cm or just to separate yourself even more from the screen if you want less screen getting into your pheripherical vision) whereas the 48'' C1 is too big even for a big desk.

      It is better because of the current price, and it is better because it appears to look better in 4k. The image appears sharper and more detailed on the C1, while the C2 is more about adding a slight brightness and color volume boost. While the upscaling may overall be about 5 percent better, this does not translate to content being output at a native 4k resolution. This is my opinion, but it really depends on your priorities and what matters more to you. At this point, we are going beyond what a traditional OLED is, and it seems to be more gimmicky that a real marked improvement.
