Just bought one, in Worcester, UK. Absolutely LOVE IT. The engine is something else, you really didn't get to experience even 30% of what the engine has to offer, following those slow guys in front. Just a Mega Machine. :)
I bought a Ducati 1299 and my brother bought a BMWS1000r from A&S and they are the best dealership in the world!!!!! I test rode different bikes every weekend for a couple months and they never got mad.
The dealer's been around for over 50 years, and you can't stick around for that long without a strong reputation. I'm considering a R nineT or an electric bike in the future and I'll definitely go there first. ✌🏽
Nice overview. I was able to test ride both the R 18 B and K 1600 B on the same day. What a smooth engine that K 1600 has. I thoroughly enjoyed them both in different ways. @Texas2Tires
My 2019 K1600B had a massive Transmission Recall. There are some videos showing the whole process and it is super complex. The whole job took the Dealer about a week to fix it. Shortly after that recall, I got rid of the bike. The Engine is like no other bike, so as the transmission. It is front heavy. The screen is useless, so I had to add a deflector on top. It is not as stable as the RT at highway speed (over 75 mph). At high RPMs it has an incredible F1 like note. I don't think anyone who is planning on getting this Bagger would be disappointed.
From a K1600B owner, that was a good balanced review, it does take a lot of riders some time to adjust to the feel and behaviour of the front suspension to get the full benefit, not something you were able to do on an escorted ride
@@Kevin_Ho70 I did, great bike but it’s very much more of a American interstate mile eater, I like mountain roads and the K has a balance between sport and tour which is more suited to me And every time I see the back of a new Wing it looks way to much like a Honda civic for my liking.
It was a toss up between this bike and a rt 1250. Ended up going with the rt due to lower maintenance costs with the boxer engine and overall it just fit me better. So far with 7k miles I've had good luck but time will tell.
Great machine, but I got burnt heavy with the K GA . Got it new in 18, once I reached 12,000, all the crap started to come on me. It’s a super machine and fun to ride, but be aware of the massive amount of problems that this engine/bike can bring on you. Sooooooo much can go wrong. Make sure before you buy, that you have a dealer by you. Service on them is by time or miles. Get ready to open your bank account for the labor/parts. This machine don’t care much for very cold or hot day starts. In very hot days, slow speed, the fans come on like crazy. I gave BMW a chance for first bike, never again.
That's terrible! And I get it. We bought a VW Jetta after hearing great things about longevity and them being a fun car, but after 50K miles it just started having all kinds of issues. That kind of stuff kills any trust in a brand, even if most people don't have that same experience. What are you riding now?
@@thatoneguymoto my daughter had VW Jetta with 80k on it. Just like the BMW K, problems and problems all day long. We had enough and sold it. Now, Honda CR-V. Zero issues. I mean, ZERO !!!!! That is why I got the new Honda Goldwing DCT Tour. I had enough and I just want to ride all day and not see a dealer, if I can :). So far, magical!
How did we get to Jettas? I have a 2019 K1600B now with about 35,000 miles. No issues and have ridden in sub 30 degree weather and in temps up to 110. It is important to remember that with BMW you get a 3 year warranty. It has been a fabulous bike to ride.
So what a gorgeous bike. Im a goldwing guy but I went to the local bmw dealer. They had several and were really informative. He actually was very honest and said he had a low mile B. He told me a customer returned the bike because it was unstable at hiway speeds. He also told me the computer limits top speed to 105 because the front end picks up too much lift causing the instability that causes the bike to wonder. On my old 2016 F6b Goldwing with Traxxion suspension I can let go of the bars for miles just making corrections with the seat. I can’t believe bmw would put out a unstable touring bike. Is there a fix for that or is it a deal breaker? Wonderful engine though.
after 500 meters, no adjustment, even by the dealers software. Ridiculous. One of the few instrumentation designs that arent right about this bike. What would it take to make the blinker go off after the IMU senses a lean angle needed to turn and then a 3 second or 5 second countdown to turn the blinker off? Instead after turning every vehicle thinks you are about to make a second turn when you are not. Could be dangerous. I had a 2017 K1600 GTl and now with a 2022 R1250rt same situation. Not good.
Apologies. So, dynamic mode is akin to a kind of sport mode, without calling it sport mode. Suspension is firmed up a bit, and torque and hp is increased slightly. Appreciate you watching and commenting! ✌🏽
So there is sensors on the floorboards that limits the top speed at 111mph?...I dont think i like that...If i owned that Bike i would be ripping on the Interstate with my feet exclusively on the Floorboards
@@cyclechris6591 just yesterday, I visited the dealer for the 2022. He didn't like to have to mention it, but legally they have to, that the bike as a governor at 100. His comment after that was 'who rides 100?'. I agree with his comment. But what I don't like is any motorcycle manufacturer limiting the speed. Whatever the reason for the limiting, the manufacturer needs to correct that, and not just spit out a bike. Sadly, that is a deal breaker with me. And I really enjoyed sitting on that bike.
BEWARE BIKERS… I have a 2019 k1600B and so far I had to replace the Throttle Sensor 4 TIMES..!! Luckily under warranty. The BMW Agent said it’s a common problem with the Bagger models. The other problem is the Reverse System… It’s a total failure. BMW have to do something about this.
The deal breaker for me is that 100mph limiter. No, I don't ride at 100 mph, but I don't like the limitation, and all my years, this is the first time I've heard anything like that. has nothing to do with that the non removable backs pick up wind and create a drag that can make unstable at speed more than that
How was the heat?
It was in the 90's that day, and the bike had been ridden all morning by the time I rode it. I did not feel any noticeable heat.
