This is so fun. Wirtual went from "and then hefest got this run" to "my favorite theory: the internal ramp" and I am just happy that he is so curious about the world he lives in.
If you had a time machine to go one way to anywhere and back again where would you go? I would for sure go to the past to some significant event like the pyramids, or sometime around 30AD to find Jesus or something. That's the issue here with this weird pyramid shaped Trackmania track, no one actually knows, or may never ever know how it was truly built and to find out the truth, not some hypothesised theoretical assumption, but the real truth would be kind of cool.
Imagine building a time machine and going back 5000 years and ask them how they built them and they reply with "no idea, they've been here for 5000 years".
The question i have is why didnt they document any of this stuff - like, surely we should've found build plans or whatever unless they got lost in war or time
@@professorpwerrelthey most likely did, but those methods of documentation are susceptible to loss over time. furthermore, it's a lot easier for a method to get lost to time when you've only done it once. by that I mean since we wash the dishes so often, how to make soap is relatively common knowledge, but since we only built the pyramids once (for an unknown purpose), that information isn't spread as widely and thus is more susceptible to being lost.
@@seanpe8474 +1 good point. Was hoping to spark a response like this with my quite general message. It's what makes it such a fascinating mystery I suppose. It is the shame that Egypt and the tourism board are so opposed to deep exploration and uncovering the true secrets

Like he is so enthusiastic about Pyramids and the internal ramp theory that I am somehow really invested in this. I probably won't look at any of this by myself but watching him talk about this and be so happy is great
I know, right?? Like I'm really opposed to this dude that wants to hinder the good scientists just for personal reasons and just this whole story arc is so fascinating
I had a friend who did a project with muon scanning. For anyone wanting a better explanation of how it works here it is: Muons are subatomic charged particles that are formed in the upper atmosphere by high energy cosmic rays. They then fall through the atmosphere at speeds close to the speed of light and can travel through solid objects but will eventually collide and be blocked if the solid is thick enough. we can detect them with effectively a slab of plastic with special electric propertias and so can count how many are detected hitting the slab. In the pyramids because of all the rock, we can use the muon detection count rate to estimate how much stuff is between the detector and the sky. And by repositioning the detector we can even make a 3D map of any significant voids that would change the number of muons detected.
This is what you've been working for. Slowly warming your audience up to the idea of you having a big interest in the pyramids, and then suddenly you unlock the ability to post a pyramid video without disturbing your audience too much. Big brain content creator.
I absolutely love hearing wirtual speak so passionately about pyramids. It’s so wholesome, like a toddler excited to show his parents the cool rock he found
Ever since I watched the pyramid RPG map VOD I've been lowkey interested in the topic. No idea why editors are repressing pyramid talk, it's awesome to hear wirtual talk about a tppic that excites him so much.
Honestly super interesting, would genuinely love to see some Wirtual documentary style content covering things like this (actual theories, or just facts about interesting history)
If the great void turns out to be a ramp just like the corridor beneath and if the newly discovered ramp ALSO has a stone with the shape that the committee mistook for a worn down step then it undeniably confirms the internal ramp theory and that the ramps were used as leverage. Because that stone hasn't been stepped on since the chamber was buried. Exciting!
What got my attention is the whole thing about the Egyptians needing to deny it, otherwise they failed in their mission of keeping it in their normal condition and shape.
I thought this was going to be a video about doing custom scenery on a TM map, but I ended up being taught a history lesson. I don't even play TM, so this just goes to show that I could watch this particular human being talk about anything and I'd be entertained.
I'm so happy that you made a video sharing what is clearly a huge passion for you. It's super interesting to learn about a subject I know very little of from someone so enthusiastic who can explain it in simple terms to a chatter like me. There's probably a large number of people who watch Wirtual for Wirtual, not for trackmania gameplay. It probably helped, but we love hearing Wirtual tell us stories and talk about the things he's interested in!

History of Granite is such a good channel. I personally find the most plausible explanation to be hybrid ramp that pierced the pyramid during construction, using grand gallery for lower structures and ending in a supportive structure on the opposite side of the pyramid during the construction phase. Spiral ramps seem like a inefficient solution, and any rigging for counter weights just seem more logical to place outside the pyramid. To construct the top structures, I don’t think ramp of any kind is justified, as these structures bear much less weight, are constructed of smaller stones and as history for granite pointed out, could be constructed layer by layer where the lower layer forms “steps” the next rock is raised upon, using levers or a set of levers (rocking the stone to place bigger and bigger levers) to scale up the steps. So I don’t expect a number of ramps to be discovered, but only few, all piercing the pyramid completely.
If you take a look at the blocks of the pyramids and other stone structures, you will see a 'nub' on the lower end. It is theorized this 'nub' was used in some capacity to move and lift the blocks. It is not a accidental 'nub' as the approximate same shape and location can be found on blocks everywhere throughout Egypt. Now one thing is to split a block in two, another is to create this 'nub'. One would have to whittle down the entire side of it and leave the 'nub'. This drastically increases the amount of work required per block, which makes the millions of blocks created in 20 years even more impressive and "impossible". And the most interesting thing about the 'nubs: You can also find these, in the exact same way in other stone works miles and miles and miles away even on other continents. People in ancient times seems to have used the exact same quarry method, exact same masonry, with the exact same 'nub' on the bottom and probably the exact same transportation method because of that. And all of the nubs only appear in the most ancient, lower levels of the stone works. Nowhere to be seen for the following generations. So, what is the link between all these sites and cultures?

I actually think it was built like a 3D printer would build it, and as it got taller, they kept a Goyon spiral, then when that was all done, it would've been easy to just fill the Goyon spiral from top to bottom, filling the slope with steps. The ramp was probably supported by stones already, making it easy to just brush away the sand they probably used for the slop, and then when the stones below the sand was exposed, you could just keep put stone blocks where the sand ramp was and still utilize the convenience of the ramp to get things up there, which is why most of the pyramids are solid inside. another theory I have is that they built everything sort of like a 3D printer would, but building from the outside-in layer by layer and using pulleys and/or leverage to bring material up the side in a staggered position with like "wooden cranes" where 1 crane would take it a few steps up with a bundle of material that was then shoved over to another "crane" and so on, maybe a combo of these?
