In germany most people getting their test now do that too.. taking the automatic test and doing like a few driving lessons with the manual to be allowed driving it..
But as far as I know those hours are not driving lessons in that sense but rather just driving with a parent or someone that has a license. During that time you have to put a sign on the car letting others know you are a learner (L) edit: plus you have to keep in mind that if we drive 30h we can cross our whole country lengthwise while 30h driving in down under will get you to the next town :D (i'm just saying that those hours are collected over a period of (in the case of some fellows of mine) multiple years in addition to generally greater distances so yeah, comparing our licensing processes is not as straight forward)
…WHAT?!?!???! AND YOU GUYS HAVE THE BLOODY AUTOBAHN TOO! …tbf tho there’s just so many fucking re****s in australia the hour limit is stupid cause there’s still so many terrible drivers. Here in nsw I’m not very good at driving manual cause I’ve just started learning it, I keep messing up hyperfixating on the gears and get worried about messing up then I panic and do mess up…apparently I’m able to pass my fucking test already tho so like (I’ve been told this a lot by my instructor) the test is soo fucking easy it doesn’t matter if we had to do 1000 hours because the test is such a low bar Edit: hold on, your lessons aren’t even-wait a second. In Germany you can’t drive in your own car with your parent or something and jot down those hours in a logbook they give you? The way you wrote that makes it seem like you have 30 (lesss than 1 hour apparently?) driving lessons with instructors and then you test which might be a lot better if we lessened the hour requirement and made it necessary to only drive with an instructor for like 20 lessons or something…but it’s so much money for driving instructors the government would have to change so much about the driving license and tests stuff
@@tw38203 No, you drive with an instructor, a minimum of X hours plus some special, Autobahn, Überland and Night. You can pass at 17 and drive with a parent or similar till you're 18.
@@jaesjmes5498 yep you got that right, our driving lessons are with instructors only, which is why we pay north of 2000 € (about 3300 AUD) for our licenses, although that heavily depends on the region (cities tend to be a lot more expensive than rural areas). Additionally those 30h are the minimum required. That said, I only know one person to pass the test with that amount. Everyone else takes way more lessons (40 to 60h) sometimes before even attempting the test. If you fail (which like 60% do on their first try), you have to take even more (expensive) lessons. Interestingly if you pass the test before turning 18, then your parent has to be in the passenger seat until you are of age (the earliest we are allowed to take the test is 17). tl;dr Instructor is required for all mandatory driving lessons which is why it costs a kidney to get your license in Germany
As somebody that grew up in the farming community in the states I can tell you that the reason that us “horse riders” like a manual is because we have more control when we’re dealing with the crap that we have to deal with we don’t exactly drive on paved roads all the time.
2:13 in my state youre supposed to do 50hrs with 10 of them being at night, but they never actually check in my drivers ed class they said get this app to log it, but then at the dmv noone asked me to prove any time, so its the exact opposite of "you used to be able to get away with it" lmao 😂😂
I'm British and I never knew Hamish and Andy, well I still don't know Hamish _and_ Andy. But I do know Hamish now from being the host of Lego Masters Australia, where him and Brickman are just fantastic.
I also have a fear of needles but in the sense of it piercing the body itself. I cannot deal with a sharp object being inside someone like that. I can deal with seeing people put in piercings and things though.
Automatic cars are safer than manuals because you can focus more attention on the road and will never stall. Learning automatic isn't driving a go-kart, it's driving a modern car. Or do you still want to wind up your engine and change the choke too?
Autos are not safer than manuals because anyone that has some experience in a manual car will change gear without taking attention away from The road and will stall very rarely. Your take is just a lack of skill

Now that's a collab I didn't expect... Although it's Max, so maybe I should have expected it because it was unexpected.
*Welcome To **-Luton-** Dazza’s Car*

Same!
The collab I didn't know i needed!
In Switzerland the law got changed in 2021 so now you can do your test with an automatic and be allowed to drive manual which I think is stupid...
That’s wild!
The only way you can do thst in Australia is if your work vehicle is manual like a trade ute or something
In germany most people getting their test now do that too.. taking the automatic test and doing like a few driving lessons with the manual to be allowed driving it..
Thats how it should be honestly
@@WayStedYou in Victoria once you are off your P's you can drive a manual, don't need to take another test.
120 hours seems like a MASSIVE requirement!!
Here in germany licensing is pretty strict, but i think its only like 20-25 hours (around 30 lessons)

When are you going to upload the full version of Sweet Anita?
I have a Buddy with a Prince Albert, he's Obsessed with showing everyone , so yeah I've seen it. ahah.
I could watch these 2 for hours!

Ngl I've never really understood the hate for automatic
It’s just another way for people to feel good about themselves (I can do this and you cant). One of the dumbest arguments ever
Laughing at automatic is hilarious, seeing that they’re pretty much the last generation driving manual. Soon manuals won’t even be sold anymore
