Electronic music didn’t start with Eno, but it was certainly never the same after him. On Roxy Music’s first two albums he helped make synthesizers and tape effects part of a rock lineup, pricking the ears of future synth-pop creators such as Human League.
In his lecture at the Red Bull Music Academy, Eno shared his insights...

From Roxy Music to his solo albums and production work for U2 and Coldplay, Brian Eno has never been short on ideas. Listen in as he speaks about his motivations for becoming an artist in an interview for Red Bull Music Academy's What Difference Does It Make? A Film About Making Music.
The Red Bull Music Academy is a global music institution committed to fostering creativity in music. We celebrate music, its culture, and the transformative minds behind it. The man is a quote machine
Seriously.
Eno is a great thinker. We should listen to both his thoughts and his music.
Well what you do made a big difference for me. I had to choose between being a visual artist and a musician and chose visual artist. Yet your music to me is a rare example of those things capable of inspiring us. So thank you from the bottom of my heart. You helped me realize that art is indeed a path to find what is essential to being human.
Brian Eno is my favorite artist ever and I think it's fair to say that he is the greatest artist alive.
I will have a look at his art. I always just thought of him as a brilliant musician and did not know that he is also a great thinker and artist.
I think hes one of the only people you can genuinely call an Artist in the traditional sense
I make music but I don't consider myself an artist at all.. when I was younger I thought of myself as a musician/artist and all the stigma that came along with it (drugs, depression, suffering etc). As soon I started working in a different field I no longer had all my self-worth caught up in making music and it freed me up to make music that I actually enjoyed. I like my job but working a 9-5 really gives a lot of motivation to pour into doing things I actually enjoy, so I agree with what Eno says about having to be 'in motion' to find inspiration.
He change my life and music too...
One very good interview. Eno thinks everything through without getting himself om the way. He is getting near, very near to get the answer. He is very near to know who G-D really is. I pray for him to surrender to the only one that saves the world, the Creator of All , theOne that gave him those beautiful thoughts and talents and a wonderful life. Not talking about the systems of religions, not talking about deiifying nature or any other created being, am talking about the real G-D each one of us eagers to return to.
Very special person
what an awesome guy
'Inspiration only comes when you're working', the best ideas I've had have come when I was sitting around just thinking, but they weren't so much artistic ideas, more mechanical and practical. I guess it's a different approach when thinking about different things
I would say inspiration only comes when you HAVE WORKED hard ... you might get a great idea in a dream, but only if you have already been wrestling with that problem and invested yourself into it. It has to have steeped into your subconscious, and saturation by immersion is the best way to steep.
Thinking can be classed as working cant it?
Brian Eno in support of BDS. Righteous!
inspiration catches you when you're working
+Ciprian Hanga that is so true. His words are so wise and inspirational.
AMAZING MAN...BRIAN IS...BRAVO

You are a horrible critic

I liked the definition of an Artist.

As clear as water
Love the man but here we are on the internet talking about a shared experience (his interview). Admittedly there is not much to-and-fro here but there is in some threads, especially on Reddit.
brian eno; anagram; 'brain one'
Brian has always seemed to be a scientist and philosopher disguised as a musician.
Your description sounds like an INFJ (MBTI typing).
@@msmontana1961 Myers-Briggs MBTI personality typing. Just google it, it'll make sense.
Why make art, isn't the question, because we need to make art from somewhere....beyond reason... [ The answer is; Because you love.......]
1:21 why am i doing this and what difference does it make?
Keep the camera still!
is it just me, or does Eno really keep pressing his nose up against a glass window?
Just you..
@@sportsfreundberlin So how does he do that heart shape? It's yet another great talent.
why so close, yikes
It’s so hard to watch this mild, boring Brian describing himself and his limitations.
