Oakland is a city in deep trouble financially and is strugling with extremely high crime levels. It is beyond belief that they are spending on EV buses when the have some of the worst schools in the nation along with a 177 million dollar deficit for basic city servics. This spending defies logic when huge cuts to essential police and fire service are planned. I support the transition to Electric mobility, but this move is tragically misguided.
I won't pretend to know anything about Oakland's finances or education system but the wisdom of spending on EV buses in part lies with how the buses were funded. If Oakland was able to get most of it paid for with federal &/or state dollars that would have otherwise gone to another city or state, it was probably an excellent move, especially given the health benefits for children that will no longer have to endure exhaust fumes every morning & afternoon.
Would be cool to use the PV Inverter with DC coming from the car, when the sun is not shining. Could help flatten the duck curve, when lot of EVs can do this V2G
