    A lot of manufacturers don't add a solar roof to their cars simply because it isn't worth the added cost. Sure, if you want to go out and spend a few hundred or a thousand bucks for an aftermarket kit to get a handful of extra miles a day, go for it. However, there's not a large market for people who would pay for this to make it worth the dealership's cost in adding this to their production line and making it an option.

    Damn, this thing is a rip off!. My IronTon jet ski trailer from Amazon was about $800 shipped to my door. $75 for spare tire, $50 for trailer jack, $250 for hitch mounted motorcycle carrier modified to fit on the trailer, has a chock that holds the bike. So for about the same price my Amazon trailer w/12" wheels has leaf spring suspention to provide a smooth ride and fully loaded with all the stuff you'll want a trailer to have. All while weighing about 200lbs. I have driven it from SF BayArea CA to AR and back to pickup a ZeroSR. Once outside of CA drove 80mph the whole time and everything was smooth. I can load by myself with a step stool. I also use it for my Dinghy too. So the main advantage to this Ace trailer is that it folds up small for storage. I would modify it and add a full chock, spare tire and trailer jack

      Elon Musk recently fired the bulk of Tesla's Supercharger team, which may help explain why the rollout to other automakers is falling behind schedule. GM was originally supposed to be granted Supercharger access in the spring. To the best of my knowledge Tesla has not opened its Supercharger network to Hyundai yet either, although that automaker is among the ones that reached an agreement to use Superchargers.

    I can't believe Lectron is still having quality control problems. This is nuts! $8.25 for 44 miles? Ouch. That's worse than gasoline. Is this where we're heading with EV? I will be selling my Zero SR/S before I pay that much.

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider 7 днів тому

      Yep, DC charging is expensive but thankfully most EV drivers with home or workplace charging probably don't need to fast charge more than maybe once a month. The only reason I Supercharged was to produce the video. For *average* EV drivers they'll only need to DC charge when traveling more than 225 miles or so. Based on my utility's kWh rate, as of this morning it costs me $10.01 to fully charge my Mustang Mach-E and that's not counting the $7 per month per EV credit I get for charging off peak. I also have a Zero SR/F, which when you count my $7 monthly credit for it, basically equates to free fuel given how efficient it is.

    • @dakster4729
      @dakster4729 6 днів тому

      I don't know about any credits here in north Alabama, but I pay about $.12 kW with Wilson Dam here on the Tennessee River. Costs me $.30 to go 44 miles. I have found several free J-1772s plus I have the Zero Tesla tap to use free NACS chargers to extend my ride-to-eats range. I just don't think I ever want to pay gasoline money for electric charging.

    • @FerdinandCesarano
      @FerdinandCesarano 7 днів тому

      Not 50. But 25 is too little. I live in New York City, and I frequently rented mopeds that top out at 30 miles per hour. That was sufficient for the City; and it was also feasible (though, admittedly, a bit more difficult) outside the city limits. If this car could do 30, it would be perfect.

    • @danielthompson3928
      @danielthompson3928 6 днів тому

      I live in Florida and 50mph is the bare minimum. It would be unsafe on most of our roads since we depend on highways for most of our travel. I would prefer 60-70, personally. At 25mph, it might be faster to just ride an electric bicycle.

    • @FerdinandCesarano
      @FerdinandCesarano 6 днів тому

      @@danielthompson3928 - A speed of 50 is the minimum on highways everywhere. This car is not for highways; it's for city streets. Still, even for that, 25 is too slow. There's a big difference between 25 and 30.

    IT's a small thread. If the solar panels become efficient enough, then it's a good choice. But it may as well happen that battery themselves become too good, and you'd have a 1.000 km ev car that can also charge in 5min. In those conditions, roof solars are a waste of money. They are even now, if you consider recent Tesla cars updates.

Many legacy motorcycle companies have often used discounts to boost sales. Why should Zero be any different? And let's not forget that compared to ICE bikes Zeros are still expensive. So I have the same vehicle, he says he's averaging 31 miles per gallon which obviously is a lie. Now on the other hand, I love my Jeep and I bought it for the power not how efficient it is. But this review is so bogus it's absolutely ridiculous.

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider 17 днів тому

      I don't understand your comment. Why would the owner lie about his fuel economy? The EPA rates the Wrangler 4xe at 49 MPGe when driven in EV-mode so his overall average of 31 MPG should be easily obtainable since he uses it primarily for around town trips and keeps it plugged in to maximize his EV miles. Or do you not understand how EV-only or primarily-EV commutes reduces overall gas consumption, thereby raising the overall mpg average? Of course if an owner doesn't keep his or her 4xe plugged in or tows or does primarily high mileage highway driving, the overall average would be much lower.

    You missed a few points. They may have been in your previous videos. 1. Petrol stations rely on electricity, apart from a few old manually pumped stations in remote places. So when the power is out you cannot get petrol. 2. If you have a petrol powered generator you can siphon petrol out of an ICE car to run the generator. It is easier with an EV. 3. The severity and frequency of hurricanes increases the more oil is burned. So petrol anfd diesel vehicles are making the weather worse. The reason you have to evacuate is because of those ICE vehicles. 4. Go back a few decades and you didn't need air conditioning in the summer. In Kenya we just had overhanging roofs and lots of open windows. That is also something ICE vehicles have made worse.

    • @EVRider
      @EVRider 17 днів тому

      I didn't mention the part about gas stations not working when the power is out because here in Florida newer gas stations are required by law to be able to run on generators during power outages. This law applies to gas stations built or significantly renovated after July 1, 2006. The law was passed in response to the 2005 hurricane season, which included Hurricanes Katrina, Rita, and Wilma. But to your point, many gas stations around the world don't have a backup power supply. My Mach-E's 12-volt outlets each have a max of 180-watts, according to Ford. So to be safe running them hours or days at a time I'd say don't exceed 125-watts, which totals 250-watts. That should be enough to run LED lights, a few fans, computer, etc. Here's a link to Ford's manual: www.fordservicecontent.com/Ford_Content/vdirsnet/OwnerManual/Home/Content?countryCode=USA&languageCode=EN&Uid=G2138465&ProcUid=G2181241&div=f&variantid=7430&vFilteringEnabled=False&userMarket=USA&buildtype=web

    Gas car people always seem to forget that gas stations are powered by electricity. EVs are extremely efficient in the stop and go traffic typical of evacuations, so you’re not burning range while idling. And if you stick around, it’s not like you’re going to be commuting anyway. Looking forward to those EV moto reviews!

    Tire size doesn't help you on range !!!

      True but in the owner's case he had other goals opposed to just maximizing range. Of course a Prius Prime would be much more efficient with aerodynamics, weight and tires. However, the person that buys a Prius and the person that buys a Wrangler probably have very different use cases.

    hi. just came accross your video on my t v. took awhile to find you on my p c so that i could comment. liked your intervue .some good info there. was wondering if you have looked into vinfast, the vf3 has caught my eye. stopped in to the vin fast dealer here in fort lauderdale. they say in may be here in the fall. the have the vf6 base and the vf6 pluss but the are 47k. too rich for my blood. the vf3 is supposed to be about 20k and elegible for the 7500 fed credit. they are building a factory in north carolina so it will quallify. would like to know if you have any thoughts on it . thanks ron

    I think with a lighter bike like yours you could probably back off a little on the tire pressure to soften the ride up a bit. I think with an 800 pound Harley the higher pressure would be more appropriate

      That makes sense. For whatever reason the manufacturer doesn't specify different PSIs for different weight bikes.

    they're a dime a dozen around town nowadays, but let me know if you could make use of an MYP for a comparison drive with Mach-E and Ocean. maybe for a video about "budget performance". also I put the acopower fridge in the trunk if you want to check that out. I'm over in Lakewood.

      '22 that has the ultrasonic sensors but none of the creeks and rattles (that I've noticed) folks talk about with '20s and '21s

    I bought my Mulholland two and a half weeks ago already racked up 1,500 miles within that time period. first thing before leaving the dealership was having them flip the mirrors left for right which flipped them up and now you’re not having to look so far down just to see behind you. Lots of visits to level 2 chargers some free some not but as of the typing of this comment none of the charging apps go beyond 2022 so it only recognizes the Livewire Type One. This leads to every charging stop I meet a lot of people with tons of questions and interest despite some criticism online from those range anxiety folks.
