I am in law school in Australia and what you mentioned about the stress and worry that you are not going to get the work done or it will be crap rings so true for me! Every time I do an assignment or an exam I am convinced that it's the worst thing anyone has ever written...but it's always fine! My last exam I cried for 2 hours after because I was convinced I had failed...i got my highest mark ever 😅. I don't have any advice to offer, just my solidarity through the madness! ❤

Omg I totally relate to you with feeling anxiety even though I’ve always gotten things done historically and feeling like if I get confident then I’ll get lazy! It’s something I talked about in therapy this week and my therapist told me that the self critic in the back of your head is really good at convincing you that you need it or else things will go wrong. But that’s totally not true! Your success can’t be chalked up to the discipline your self critic gives you - because you have plenty of personality traits and values that lead you to succeed. And even if you didn’t have that self critic, you’d likely still succeed and also be more content. Like you said, you don’t have any examples where you didn’t succeed despite procrastinating and not having as much discipline. You chose to ask yourself “what do I want to do” instead of “what should I be doing” and as a result you were more content because you got to have fun while still getting your task done in the end.
Haha sorry for the long paragraph but I hope this helps someone :)

omg I am so sorry you're dealing with that in grad school! people are supposed to be more mature like that's actually so disappointing that people still have those petty mindsets. I remember you had an IG story that basically alluded to weird mean girl/projecting all this on you energy and i was like "nooooo! In law school?? there HAS to be better priorities!" LOL but so happy that you have gained such confidence and love for yourself that you understand that this isn't a reflection on you but actually on them. (but alsoooo i really do think its a southern thing too. I recently visited Texas and I'm from east coast and its really a different world/different mindset down there)
