I really like how each of the continuities has their own Mike. Like how the Mike in the novels is totally different from either the games or the movie. Just keeps things unpredictable even for the fans.
Ok so the most popular theory going on about the movie is that the Schmidts (Mike and Abby) are the movie versions of the Emily Family (Henry and Charlotte). A lot of people speculate that Mike's father is actually Henry or a stand in for him and he and William had a falling out of some sort and thats the reason why William specifically targeted Garrett to get back at him. Because why would William drive HOURS just to go to a little camping spot out in Nebraska, its also similar in the games that Williams "first" kill involves a car and it happening outside of the pizzaria
It could just be Afton ended up moving. He could've just been at the spot, saw Garrett was unsupervised, and took the opportunity, and eventually moved.
I have a theory. So, in my idea, Afton and Mike's father started Freddy Fazbear's, where Afton was the main owner and Mike's dad created the animatronics. Blond Boy is actually Afton's son, and some accident happens one day at the pizzeria where Blond Boy is playing next to an animatronic, and the robot malfunctions, killing Blond Boy. Afton then blames Mike's dad, and while the Schmidts are camping, Afton sees an opening, seizes Garret, and then abducts and kills him for revenge against Mike's dad for "causing" Afton's son's death, even though Mike's dad had nothing to do with it. Additionally, maybe Mike's mom died a mysterious death? Maybe she was in a car accident, that really wasn't an accident. And maybe Mike's dad is in the witness protection program, but thinks Mike and Abby will be safer and have a better life outside of the program. (Or something.) But that's just a theory. A film theory.
Scott cawthon said that when the movie was being made that it's not going to follow the game lore directly. It was just like the books where the books didn't line up with the games directly. The movie, the games, and the books all take inspiration from each other but they are not the same story. So later when you watch the next two movies don't think you know everything about the game lore because Scott "The Troll" Cawthon is the only person who knows what the true story is. And I think he plans to keep it that way for a long time.
The song at the end is one of the first (and most popular) songs made the awesome The Living Tombstone way back in 2014, only a few weeks after the game first released According to them, they were approached to feature this song in the movie back in 2018!
That's so sick! As someone who makes fan songs (on my main channel BecauseBeca), I think it's so great that something like that gains that kind of recognition and popularity. Good for them!
@@BecauseBecaBeBeca it had a massive effect on the community which helped skyrocket it's popularity and inspired many others to make their own fansongs so, this is honestly the best song to feature in a movie made for the fans
Fun fact: you know when Mike was shining the flashlight at chica, the puppet was there at the right side of that shot, you can see the white eyes glowing
It’s not the puppet my guy. It was confirmed to be the endoskeleton named Tina, who is hidden in the background of some scenes as an Easter egg. Do you really think they would do something that big in such a stupid way like that? Why would that be how we see the puppet?
Josh is playing Mike Schmidt. This is just the third iteration of the FNAF multiverse so things are going to be very different but some are going to be similar. MatPat did a lore based Film Theory this past weekend. Markiplier was at one point supposed to be the first security guard in the opening but couldn’t due to scheduling conflicts
The thing about the game lore is that the whole "Michael Afton" of it all came later when Sister Location came out, when it was just FnaF 1-4, and World, Mike Schmidt was just some dude, and I think Scott wanted to return to that more simpler concept for the film, so that he could function as a proper everyman character, and not confuse the general audience, and still tell a cohesive story. But the thing is, this Mike Schmidt still parallels game Mike a lot, down to his younger brother Garrett having died when Mike was a kid, and Mike having a younger sister named Abby, whos' name just so happens to be an abbreviation for "Baby." :O Also, to solidify this point, there are behind the scenes photo shots showing Garrett in a black and gray striped shirt, just like the FNaF 4 crying kid, and holdings a fredbear plush. Apparently he had a scene shot with Mathew Lillard, we don't know what it was or why it was cut, but apparently that's the truth. In short, while movie Mike Schmidt is his own character, I still think he's very derived from the Michael Afton we know of from the games.
We could even go as far as to say that this version of Mike is actually Henry’s son since Garrett and Charlie are William’s first victims, the end credits spell out “come find me” with the puppets theme which is saying that Garret is telling Mike to come find him. The only problem with this theory though is that Mike has no memory of Freddy’s but I think they could try to explain that as trauma blocking or something
Watching this movie (in a purple suit of course) was a phenomenal experience. The soundtrack and intro sequence, as well as the movie's climax gave me goosebumps ngl
This was awesome to watch!! 😂 Soo great to see people react soo intensely to my scene with Chica and Cupcake! 🙇♂️ Makes me even soo much more honored to be Carl!!
Everything in this movie is entirely practical. sometimes they were people in identical suits but they also made honest to God robots that perform its amazing
the song that is played at the end of the movie is called fnaf song by thelivingtombstone. was the first fnaf song and its now the anthem for all fnaf games. the lore of the movie is supposed to be a combination of the fnaf books, fnaf games, and another thing.
I am something of a FNAF enthusiast, even though I've never played the games. The story appeals to me for three reasons. 1: I'm a security guard IRL, so I can really identify with the protagonist (though I've never guarded a pizza restaurant with animatronics, haunted or otherwise). 2: I was born in the early 80s, so I was just the right age to absolutely love going to the real world inspiration for Freddy's, which wasn't actually Chuck E. Cheese's, but their main competitor, Show Biz Pizza Place, which featured a bear as a mascot (though his name was Billy Bob and he was much more obese than Freddy). 3: I love the real world story of FNAF creator, Scott Cawthon, who pulled the ultimate "When life hands you lemons, make a fortune in the lemonade business!" success story by taking the flaws from one of his failed earlier games (what was supposed to be a cute, kid-friendly game about beavers called "Chipper and Son", which a reviewer called "unintentionally terrifying, with characters that move like broken animatronics") intentionally dialing those flaws up to 11, and creating FNAF. The movie was absolutely amazing, and even featured my home state (Nebraska) as an added bonus!
Actually, when fritz (foxy) died he died while running and william afton was humming a tune while killing him, that tune stuck with him and he sometimes hums it it the game when running to the door! :D
You should've watch the first trailer to understand that like everything else the movie is a stand alone story and it's not gonna follow the game's line by line and yes some things were changed but some people forget that Mike Schmidt is a different character all together who only appears in fnaf 1 and no where else and no Mike Afton is not the same person due to timeline/age logistics. Glad you liked it!
I was so happy i remember a Movie being talked about since like 3rd grade and I never thought it’d actually come, i got so much adrenaline seeing the set and animatronics being real I almost got emotional seeing the beginning credits and all the Easter eggs and elements from other games like ballon boy and Vannesa made me yell and spring trap entering the chaos bro, and then the end scene with him looking just like the fnaf 3 game trailer, and I was watching it with my mom she was impressed too, I hate the adults who complain about it not having enough gore like bro it’s literally made for fans and the ones who played it as kids like get over it 😭😭
Mike didn’t get kill immediately because the ghost kids saw that Mike lost his brother in his dream and somehow feel sympathy for him which is why they hesitated to kill him or William told them not to kill Mike because of the theory Mike is a representation of Henry Emily aka the son of his old business partner
Love the reactions girl . Amazing work.. if you don't mind me telling ya if no one has yet, al the costume and mechanical work was all done legit by Jim Hensons' company.
19:13 Markiplier was supposed to be the first security guard who got killed in the movie but he couldn’t because of scheduling conflicts on his movie on his Iron Lung
That’s not a confirmed name….. a year later we all think his name is actually David.. or Dave for short. The logbook would’ve confirmed it when we didn’t know
You are not alone to get emotional at the beginning of the movie because man, it has been 8 years and watching it for the first time feels like an accomplishment and huge step for the fanchise, many are even speculating that there was a sequel to this which i think was verified to be true, especially when at the end credits there was a easter egg or like teaser to a sequel possibilty. I remember when i first watch the gameplay of this game, i got scared but soon got into and i was so glad that i did. This Movie is hitting box office and has completed the modern media of the franschise. oh btw, when your video started i quickly noticed your eye shadow, pretty cute color combination if you ask me, purple and yellow, love it.
Oh and by the way, the films are going to be only the first 3 games but with new lore added into it. How do we know this? Well in a interview a few years ago Scott Cawthon said that he would want the movies to be a trilogy about the first 3 games, and during the time where all the news was coming out for this movie Matthew Lillard said in a interview that he got casted in the movie and that he signed a 3 picture deal with universal and blumhouse for the film.
I think it imples his brother got kidnapped, and nightmares haunt him about it. And when he thought that child in the start was getting taken, he must've gotten flashbacks, and the first reaction since he was angry was to beat the man.
Fun fact! When garot was in the car stolen, it’s confusing to know who took him. But later in the movie Springtrap said first I … your brother- KNOW U KNOW WHO TOOK HIM!!!
3:55 girl, it 100% makes sense, I was balling my eyes out the moment I saw the early fnaf mini game-esque credits lmao My friends and I were holding hands for most of the movie, not believing we were finally watching it fr 🤩
That music at the end credits, not the living tombstone one but after that, you can hear the puppets music box playing in the background might be hinting that the marionette will be in the sequel, plus at the way bottom of the credits theres a robotic voice saying each letter to form a word, i don't wanna give out the word if you wan't to decode it yourself😀
It seems like they kind of reversed the family's for the lore in the movie. Instead of Henry only having 1 daughter, William Afton only has 1 daughter. Michael in the movie has 2 siblings, just like in the game lore, but isn't the son of William in this version. It might be set up to where Mike's dad is actually the equivalent of Henry from the lore we know, and that's why William recognizes the last name. Mike's brother was possibly kidnapped by William Afton to get revenge against the father, but it's hard to say where they'll go with it. Could possibly be that Mike's brother ends up being the soul of the Puppet in the next movie.
So about mike. He is Afton in the games but in the movies, from what ive gathered he is Henry`s son. Henry schmidt- the father of mike schmidt. idk what the books are about but theyre going of the books form what ive gathered. The reason William stopped while reading Mikes name is bc of MIKES LAST NAME! Schmidt, same name as Williams former co-worker that betrayed William. And the child that got kidnapped was also Henrys kid. So When William saw the name he realised its the brother of the kid he kidnapped. and off topic when Mike was exiting the Vent Bonnie saw Mike but tried to tell freddy without making it obvious but failled badly..
Fun fact: when Mike sneaks into the pizzaria in 49:01 you can see bonnie already realizing Mike was there and collectively try to signal to Freddy to look it's hilarious 😭
I saw a couple comments about this but dude that gets attacked by the cupcake is actually named Carl and the cupcake's fan-made OFFICIAL name is Carl lol pretty cool! Also when I watched this movie the first time I SCREAMED when I saw MatPat! I can't wait to see what they do with this :D and the fact they actually incorporated dream theory is interesting!
I love how this was a movie almost made by the fans given all the fan theory and references there are. They did a good job still making it a good movie on it's own though. Can't wait to see what else they do!
In The Film, Mike isn`t related to the Aftons but an old friend of theirs named Henry .Also, his birthname is Michael Creel(Yes, his dad had the same full name as Vecna/001 from "Stranger Things"), the Schmidts adopted him and his baby sis Abby after his brother`s murder.
I mean I'm pretty new to FNAF myself, but it'd make sense to me that they're holding back on the lore for more movies to expand the story on, who knows how this Mike is related to the Aftons, for instance I have seen some people say that Abby is this universe's Elizabeth, considering her fascination and love for the animatronics, connection to this story's Mike as the younger sister just as Elizabeth was for the Mike in the other universe, and the fact that Chica was about to stuff her in a suit which bears a remarkable resemblance to Circus Baby, that certainly tracks, but the actual Elizabeth could just as easily show up in future films in flashback and as Circus Baby herself. As far as film continuity goes, we're still in it's infancy, it could go so many different ways. That being said, the original story with Elizabeth breaks my heart, just as many other stories in this universe do, so if Abby's story even follows a SIMILAR path, I don't think I'd be able to handle it.
I'm glad you had fun watching the movie I watched this movie in the cinema and I simply loved everything about this movie I just thought William Afton could have appeared more I loved the movie I hope the sequel is better as it's already in pre-production Let's Go fnaf 2 movie
It makes perfect sense to me, I'm exactly the same way. It's not because I'm scared of the jumpscares or anything, it's because I will fail miserably once I get too nervous that I'll lose. I can't help but feel like ima lose, and then that makes me lose, so scary games game like that I can't play. Kinda sucks, but I guess it's best to leave the crown with mark.
We are never told that Michael is an Afton, the lore just assumes that to try and make a cohesive story. This story has more to offer, and we can use these hints to figure out what the full story is. Like Vanessa being Williams daughter, makes sense when we consider the therapy tapes in security breach. So I would take this as a new story than relying on the lore.
Markiplier was supposed to be the security guard in the opening sequence But he was unable to take the roll due to a scheduling conflict with another project
So the theory atm for the family dynamics is that we think that the Schmidt's in this film (so Mike, Abby and Garrett) are the Emily's of the film universe so Mike's dad is Henry Emily and that they swapped it from William having 3 children and Henry having 1 child to Henry having 3 and William having 1 and we think that possibly Garrett is gonna be this universes Puppet?

Man, that babysitter really didn't get the BETTER HALF of the deal, huh?
Excellent
Nice. 😂 Lol
And I think he plans to keep it that way for a long time.
mattpat going crazy because of it too haha
The song at the end is one of the first (and most popular) songs made the awesome The Living Tombstone way back in 2014, only a few weeks after the game first released
According to them, they were approached to feature this song in the movie back in 2018!
That’sc very cool! Can’t believe I didn’t notice given I’ve watched it about 4 times now, ha!
Its actually not the puppet, I wish it was, its actually an endoskeleton that the film crew has hidden around that they call "Tina"
@@ohnaminami did you use the brightness?
Not to be rude, but since when has "Abby" ever been used as a nickname for "Elizabeth"? I've seen it used for "Abigail", but never Elizabeth
@@serenitymoon825 oh, never! I was wrong :) this post is 11 months old, I was but a naive infant not even out of my diapers yet.
Watching this movie (in a purple suit of course) was a phenomenal experience. The soundtrack and intro sequence, as well as the movie's climax gave me goosebumps ngl
markiplier was supposed to play the security guard in the opening but there were scheduling conflicts. he should have a cameo in the second
This was awesome to watch!! 😂 Soo great to see people react soo intensely to my scene with Chica and Cupcake! 🙇♂️ Makes me even soo much more honored to be Carl!!
Hey Joe! Thanks for checking out my video. Excellent work in the film! What an honor it would be to die in a FNAF film.
I love how they set it in the 90s so that if they do a present day sequel then Afton has spent 30 years in that back room.
i believe the movie is set in 2000 (based on the security camera footage being marked 2000 at the beginning when mark is in the waiting room)
@@diamond-sk2ll mark?
@@bfgaming2749 mike lmao my bad
Yes, foxy does actually sing in the the first game. Its super quiet unless your looking at pirate cove though.
Fun fact, the guard in the opening was supposed to be a cameo from Markiplier
Everything in this movie is entirely practical. sometimes they were people in identical suits but they also made honest to God robots that perform its amazing
the song that is played at the end of the movie is called fnaf song by thelivingtombstone. was the first fnaf song and its now the anthem for all fnaf games. the lore of the movie is supposed to be a combination of the fnaf books, fnaf games, and another thing.
Ngl the opening scene with the previous security guard made me feel very tense and took me back to playing the OG games backin 2014-2015
As someone who is a giant fan when i spotted the difference between freddy and obviously golden freddy i was so hyped they included him.
If you’re wondering, in the first game Foxy does sing occasionally.
Reactions such at this should be gaining more views and likes! Unbelievable! 🎉
Thanks so much! Your comment supports my channel 💚
That's never confirmed in any book, game or the movie. False.
As a long time FNAF fan, this movie got me emotional! I loved it!
💚I ended up watching it 5 times. Can’t wait for the next one 💚
That wasn’t Freddy in the house that was golden freddy
You should've watch the first trailer to understand that like everything else the movie is a stand alone story and it's not gonna follow the game's line by line and yes some things were changed but some people forget that Mike Schmidt is a different character all together who only appears in fnaf 1 and no where else and no Mike Afton is not the same person due to timeline/age logistics. Glad you liked it!
This channel is so underrated. Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate it!
I was so happy i remember a Movie being talked about since like 3rd grade and I never thought it’d actually come, i got so much adrenaline seeing the set and animatronics being real I almost got emotional seeing the beginning credits and all the Easter eggs and elements from other games like ballon boy and Vannesa made me yell and spring trap entering the chaos bro, and then the end scene with him looking just like the fnaf 3 game trailer, and I was watching it with my mom she was impressed too, I hate the adults who complain about it not having enough gore like bro it’s literally made for fans and the ones who played it as kids like get over it 😭😭
Why does she look like max from the movie 💀
That was Matthew Lillard who played shaggy and stu from scream
Her reaction to when Max dies was hilarious. Plus the Freddy that got inside of Abby’s house and that has only 1 ear was golden Freddy.
Thank you and thank you for phrasing your comment in a kind way 💚 I appreciate you.

SO exciting!
I feel like Mike is a representation of Henry Emily in the movie canon, they freaking thrown a reverse card at the Emily & Afton 😂😂😂
I love watching people's reactions to this movie!
29:28 if ur wondering why the cut bc she got bit in half and can’t be shown
I think it imples his brother got kidnapped, and nightmares haunt him about it. And when he thought that child in the start was getting taken, he must've gotten flashbacks, and the first reaction since he was angry was to beat the man.
One of the best opening credits ill ever see, the mini game style and the 8bit music went hard
Fun fact! When garot was in the car stolen, it’s confusing to know who took him. But later in the movie Springtrap said first I … your brother- KNOW U KNOW WHO TOOK HIM!!!
The fact that MatPat is in this movie made me so happy lol he came full circle
3:55 girl, it 100% makes sense, I was balling my eyes out the moment I saw the early fnaf mini game-esque credits lmao My friends and I were holding hands for most of the movie, not believing we were finally watching it fr 🤩
That music at the end credits, not the living tombstone one but after that, you can hear the puppets music box playing in the background might be hinting that the marionette will be in the sequel, plus at the way bottom of the credits theres a robotic voice saying each letter to form a word, i don't wanna give out the word if you wan't to decode it yourself😀
OMG YESSS
The Anamatronics immediately lost my trust when they cock blocked mike from dancing. Immediately broke the bro code.
“I wonder how MatPat feels watching this” 👀
The movie ,the books, and the games have their own lore
But they still have the same basic backstory.
@@CaptainCretaceous91 technically the books aren’t really canon so they don’t really have the same backstory it’s just alternate versions of the game
We all hope this movie is coming later on Netflix in the future.
The scene where vanessa stare at the kids drawing with this expression hit so differently when you have the context after watching the movie
Fun fact: when Mike sneaks into the pizzaria in 49:01 you can see bonnie already realizing Mike was there and collectively try to signal to Freddy to look it's hilarious 😭
Mike in the movie: security guard
Mike in the games: Afton
Mike in the books: golden Freddy/ the fifth child
hey! this is Ella btw from the books not baby! 😄 38:53 its a cool easter egg
Fun fact spring Bonnie was apparently apost to have a gun and not a knife
17:47 I love how she completely missed Kat snaking mike because of the matpat cameo 😂😂😂
@@BecauseBecaBeBeca I hope they completely expand the universe for this!! It's got so much potential!
On Abby‘s blanket when we were 40 minutes and 54 seconds The color of her blanket was the color of the Animatronics
The music box theme at the near end of the end credits is a telltale sign of the sequel.
27:14
Bonnie: me
Chica: my sister
Cupcake: my baby dog
“Mike” isn’t Mike Afton it’s
Mike Schmidt from the first paycheck on the first game when you beat five nights at Freddy’s.
That Freddy you saw in Abby's house was Golden Freddy.
I believe one of the games confirmed Michael as Williams son
Well there’s a game called SISTER location with baby, which implies baby is his sister and baby is Elizabeth who IS confirmed to be an Afton…
the closest we have to the full movie on youtube
Markiplier was supposed to be the security guard in the opening sequence
But he was unable to take the roll due to a scheduling conflict with another project
17:35 It's just a theory. A GAME THEORY!!!
The ending credit song is from living tombstone, UA-camr
its springbonnie/withered springbonnie in the games but in the movie its called The Yellow Rabbit
Girl, I was watching the videos on UA-cam. I felt like I was going to get jump scared but the movie I heard it’s really good I really wanna watch it.
17:57 and 1 month later, matt works with the stupendium to make a game theory song with hidden secrets
Oh! The book on the desk that's titled dream theory must be a reference to the dream theory of Fnaf 4!
If you didn't catch it, the puppet's music plays in the last part of the credits with a voice (from FNAF 2) saying 'come find me.'
Michael doesn’t get scoop. It only happens in sister location.
Bro she really just said poor thing hasn't done anything wrong Miachel being the one that killed his own brother😂
This Michael did nothing wrong.
16:01 Actually they are made by Jim Henson's Creature Shop, that's why they look so good!
I love that the Creature Shop is still around.
i knew Matthew Lillard was afton when he did the ghostface knife wipe
Fun fact about afton when he’s not dead he’s actually called spring bony . not spring lock bony but when he is dead he’s called spring trap.
This was fun but scary watching it with you thanks for making it ❤❤❤
Mike S is the Security guard in the first game it’s not confirmed but people say Mike S and Mike A are the same person and it’s in the 3rd games code
Not sure if you noticed but just incase if u didnt here is a Funfact:
The singing from foxy is actually accurate because foxy sings in the game
There are real animatronics, go to the youtube channel of Dawko, he did vlogs of the FNAF Movie set, and he in that video showed that there real animatrnics and also the puppeteer version of the animatronics.
As a fan of this franchise, I adore this film. And in the second film, I hope we get more back story to the Afton family.
Like zoinks scoob, I’m the man behind the slaughter!
