- Iringole Kavu Bhagavathy Temple is located at Perumbavoor in Ernakulam district of Kerala . This forest temple is spread over 50 acres where Goddess Durga is the deity. The mysterious Hindu temple history of Devi Durga attracts devotees to explore this sacred temple in Kerala forest . The history of this Kavu reveals the story of the protective mother goddess Durga who appeared in disguise of a baby girl to protect the new born Lord Krishna from the evil King Kamsa ( Kansa ). When Kamsa lift the baby girl to kill, she slip away from his hands as a glittering star. At that time, her divine lights fell over this place and trees began to grow here as the protection for Mother Goddess . Henceforth its considered that Goddess Durga came to live here and her presence was felt by the local people and thereafter built this oldest temple. Among the 108 Durga Devi temples in Kerala , Iringole Kavu is the rarest Hindu Goddess Durga Temple where fragrant flowers and pooja fragrances are not used. Among the Kerala hidden temple , Saraswati Devi , the power of knowledge can be seen here also. Iringole Kavu Bhagavathy transforms her 3 forms of power from Saraswati in the morning, Vana Durga in the noon and Bhadrakali or Kali Maa in the night. The power of fury and termination of evil is another attraction here when Mahakali transforms herself at night. Maa Durga being the nerve of this mysterious temple in Kerala , unmarried women also find this place as great for their bright marital future. കാടിനു നടുവിൽ കഥകളുറങ്ങുന്ന ഇരിങ്ങോൽ കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രം സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നത് എറണാകുളത്ത് നിന്നും 35 കിലോമീറ്റർ ദൂരെ പെരുമ്പാവൂർ പട്ടണത്തിനുള്ളിലാണ്. ദുർഗാദേവിയെ ആരാധിക്കുന്ന ഈ ക്ഷേത്രം അനവധി പ്രത്യേകതകൾ നിറഞ്ഞതാണ്. എണ്ണിയാലൊടുങ്ങാത്തയത്ര വൻ മരങ്ങൾ ദേവിക്ക് കാവൽ നിൽക്കുന്ന ഇവിടെ തടിയോ ശിഖരങ്ങളോ മുറിക്കുകയോ വീണ മരത്തടികൾ മറ്റാവശ്യങ്ങൾക്കായി എടുക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാറില്ല. ദൈവാംശമുള്ളതായി വിശ്വസിക്കപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ മരങ്ങൾ ദ്രവിച്ച് മണ്ണിനോട് അടിയുകയാണ് പതിവ്. സരസ്വതി, വനദുര്‍ഗ്ഗ, ഭദ്രകാളി എന്നീ 3 ഭാവങ്ങളിലായാണ് ദേവി ഇവിടെ കുടികൊള്ളുന്നത്. ഭഗവതി ഗന്ധം ഇഷ്ട്ടപ്പെടാത്തതിനാൽ തന്നെ സുഗന്ധ പുഷ്പങ്ങളോ സുഗന്ധ ദ്രവ്യങ്ങളോ ഇരിങ്ങോൽ കാവ് ഭഗവതി ക്ഷേത്രത്തിനകത്ത് ഉപയോഗിക്കാറില്ല. മുല്ലപ്പൂ ചൂടി വരുന്ന സ്ത്രീകളോട് പ്രത്യേകം ആചാരങ്ങൾ പറഞ്ഞു മനസിലാക്കാറുണ്ട്. ശർക്കരയാണ് ഇവിടുത്തെ പ്രധാന വഴിപാട്. വിവാഹം, കെട്ടുനിറ, രാമായണ പാരായണം എന്നിവ ഈ ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ നടത്താറില്ല. അവിവാഹിതരായ യുവതികൾ വൃശ്ചിക മാസത്തിലെ കാർത്തിക നാളിൽ നടത്തുന്ന ദേവീദർശനം ശ്രേഷ്ട്മായി ഇരിങ്ങോൽ കാവ് ക്ഷേത്രത്തിൽ കരുതപ്പെടുന്നു.
