Nice job. Not a para-glider but Private pilot and your choice of fields and procedures to bleed airspeed and altitude before landing was textbook. Glad you were not hurt.
I guess the lesson here is, never stop working the problem....you picked a good LZ...s turns to scrub altitude instead of stretching the glide....looked like a great landing
There was the HUGE SPORTS OVAL ON THE RIGHT ! . but you went left onto tall buildings and powerlines ? Yeh you got down safely luckily but you didn't impress this avation nutter.
@duncanweel7259 So the back story is, I knew that field was clear of power lines because I drive past it every day on my way to work and have often thought "I could land in that field if I needed to." Turns out, I needed to. It was easy to deal with the need to drop altitude, and what you may not have noticed was, the car parked in the lot of that building was a VA State Trooper. SO. I KNEW if I needed emergency services, I would have them immediately. I was not POSITIVE there were no power lines around that ball / soccer field as there were power polls.. I went with what I knew, rather than hoping for the best.
Good job. No panic, made a decision. Stuck with it. Still alive. Good landing! Fly again.
