I choose the 800DE because it has better suspension, torque, and fueling. By the time you add options on the Transalp it's the same price as the 800DE Adventure. I do more off road and the Suzuki is just better. Transalp would be for someone who does mostly street.

The v strom 800DE is a very tall bike....The 800RE and Trans Alp are a very comparable size wise....most dealerships have both on demo, go try them its great fun....thanks for watching
