I really appreciate this channel. No yelling, no "basically he like mowed the lawn, and he was litterally like 'hello' ". I don't need to watch the whole thing, just click on the thumbs up at the beginning so I don't forget. Always quality! Thank you!
Man! I saw this film so many times when I was a kid (I had very bad taste in cinema) and I have no memory of that "battle chimp" opening. 🤷♂️ Edit: Maybe I should watch the whole video before I comment. 🤦♂️
I think this movie is still quite impressive for having only a $5-10 million budget, Jeff Fahey is great as Jobe, and the CGI was groundbreaking for 1992- the burning priest does look silly now but it was the first motion capture in film. I do kind of wonder how the movie would be seen these days with the "cybergod" title instead of the Stephen King adaptation-in-name-only that it got. Your review still was pretty hilarious.
There's a really fascinating book on unproduced sequels of the Halloween franchise and during the VR craze Miramax had the rights to it and one half of those dented Christmas hams known as the Weinsteins, in the case Bob, was super horny to put VR into Halloween. No real notes, just 'put VR in it.' Wild times.
Is VR any weirder than what they DID put in Halloween 3, lol. Maybe he was thinking of that. 🤷♂️(Also, I don't know what "dented Christmas hams" even means, insult wise, but I may see fit to use it someday. I feel like it would be very distracting to the target.)
This man is a national treasure and should be treated as such. Only reviews I trust and watch! Much love to you and ur family bud, ur super underrated but I love it.
VR was always a thing I couldn't wait for. This movie get a lot of it right! Brainstorm too. I turned 54 today, and I am Expert+ at Beat Saber! I wanted to be more fit during the pandemic. Feels goodman.
Yes!!! Thanks for doing this one. This movie has continued to weird me out ever since I saw it as a kid. I probably shouldn’t have watched it so young though lol. I have “the cool dad” who would let me watch scary movies when mom was at work and unfortunately this is one of them. I’m still forever grateful for him that when I watched pulp fiction for the first time with him, he made me leave the room during the gimp scene. I was kinda upset as a kid but when watching it as an adult I was sure to thank him 😂😂😂
Like the review, haven't seen this in ages. TBH? Think I gave it a single viewing at a theater. I do recall the business about Stephen King having his name taken off the "finished product."
I had forgotten about this movie. I remember at the time I read articles in Nintendo Power and Electronic Gaming Monthly about how VR games were coming soon and I was so stoked. Then the Virtual Boy came out. Wa wa
instead of a remake, some digital artist(s) could replace all the bad cgi with new better bad cgi or good cgi, for a hackers cut, release the synder hack cult
First! Pin me or else.

Did Trey Parker steal his "look" from Job/Lawnmower Man?
😆
Now I can't unsee it
This is forever burned in my brain 😂😂😂
Lol, the rolling pin jokes were the best 😂
Thanks! Job: "Here you can be anything you want", girl: "great! I wanna be an old priest that beats you!!", Job: 😢
I remember when this came out. Everyone was blown awaybby the CGI. Makes you think how current day CGI effects will age.

"I had no idea Job was so kinky. I have to go pray on this." 😂
Honestly the bad visuals make it scarier for me. It’s visually overstimulating and nightmarish. Glad I had you to talk me through it!
Your content is so underrated. You are hilarious! 😂 Thank you for these!!

I didn't know I needed a bunch of yardwork puns this morning, but as I am literally about to go mow the lawn they're so good!
This must have been the directors cut because I never seen the whole chimp in the woodshed scene. And I watched this movie a lot when I was a kid.
*confirmed at end of video. 😁

Oh yeah, I remember when that type of virtual reality was going to revolutionize everything😂 I Want My MTV.
Yup, and before that in the 80s, it was holograms. Those were going to be big.
But neither really found an application beyond a few niche uses.
Fun fact: this was one of the first movies my boyfriend and I watched together. Really brought us closer to

OMG Brainstorm!
Duuuude love your videos! Jokes, mannerisms and edits are all on point. Keep trucking. one.
Thank you! Im so happy you put out a review on this. I saw it in the theater as a kid. I was disappointed. Enjoy your day. You made mine!

1:13 Anyone else thinking The Rage Virus?

Your reviews always make my day. (And the rolling pin always has me howling ^^)
The giant face guy is Hank from Breaking Bad.
I vaguely remember that the hairstyle of job was based off of the sketch drawings. But this movie definitely didn’t age well.
Yeah, pretty different from "The Lawnmower Man" from Stephen King's _Night Shift!_
Its a somewhat similar story to sling blade ( if sling blade had V.R.)
@12:20 the forbidden marble collection
that intro was cool 👍
8:23 😭 why is Mark Zuckerberg on the screen!
Sneeze where he pees 😂😂
You may have given The Lawnmower Man a low rating, but the jokes are funny 😂
And then Job went on to serve the best bbq in Texas
Anyone else watched it and thought Flowers for Algernon?
I unironically adore this movie. Great review!
The “movie sign” reference had me dying. Big MST3K fan. 😊
Big face thing is Hank from Breaking Bad.
Acorn comment was underrated 😂😂
Loved this when it came out. And yes, the cgi was bad even for the time. I would love to see this get a re-master with updated effects.
Still one of my all time favourites ☎️
Glad you reviewed the far superior director's cut rather than the theatrical version.
This so much this
What a great way to start the day!
It was okay. Then they made a "sequel".
Lawnmower Man had a sequel, which is pretty bad by comparing it to the original.
Never seen this, but . . . I have seen Lawnmower Man 2: Beyond Cyberspace. Dreadful piece of she'it. Double dare you to review it.
instead of a remake, some digital artist(s) could replace all the bad cgi with new better bad cgi or good cgi, for a hackers cut, release the synder hack cult
Stanley Kubrick's The Shining has nothing on this movie
It was a fun film worth watching!
Two is fun too
@@AndrewMiller-yo7bd It was ok, but i consider it a one and done movie!
@@shallendor yes butt so weird

Certainly not one of Stephen Kings best😂
You look at all these stupid superhero movies and you are criticial here? This movie is great!
It’s an opinion…people differ on what they like/how they rank things. No shock there.
wow a landmower man review...again
