The judges are hating on Simone. There critiques are ridiculous. First, they say we don't know if your smile is genuine meaning she is fake. Then they say, you too perfect. WTF!! I am so glad Simone clap back at Carrie Ann. I just hope that the audience doesn't hold it against her. Let face it some people don't like it when a woman sticks up for herself...I read some folks thought she was rude... All I know is that she got all my votes. And I want Simone to hold her head up high no matter the results next week.
And of course they will label her an :"ANGRY BLACK WOMAN!" Its damned if you do damned if you don't, so she did, more power to her!
Kim Possible I saw another clip of Simone and Carrie Ann. The "Judge's Choice" is Monday. Carrie Ann told Simone that she wasn't mad at Simone and Simone explained to her that at the Olympics, the one time she showed emotion, she got a bronze medal instead of gold. So that's where her comment about "smiling doesn't get you gold medals". I think Simone internalized that because in gymnastics, you have to strive to be better than the next person. Almost perfect. These judges comments are unsulting,good for Simons's for standing up for herself. This judges won't be able to do what Simone does even if they tried.She does a good job dancing so what if she doesn't smile or smile a little. Judges should change their attitude towards her. She represents america put america on the map of sports be happy about that and thank you S.Biles for that.Go Biles,go!!!!!!!!

Wow! I didn't know they switched the show from "dancing with the stars" to "smiling with the stars". She isn't smiling enough, except now she is smiling too much. Now she is "too perfect". All of these statements are code for you shine too much and youre too awesome. Simone keep doing your thing and everybody who is nitpicking her apart can take several seats and get a life.

I have seen some people call her a brat for the comment she made. This girl couldn't be farther from a brat. Everything she has earned she has worked her ass off for, and she's absolutely right--smiling alone cannot win you gold medals. People in competitive dance know that and people in gymnastics know that. Admittedly, she could be more expressive while dancing, but her range of emotion has been comparable to the remaining male stars on the show. She's legions ahead of those male stars in technique, yet is often scored like them. I do think she has been unfairly scored this season. Normani is an incredible dancer and a captivating performer, but even her technique is outdone by Simone's--especially when it comes to transitions into and out of kicks and lifts.
I get that the judges want emotions from Simone but to say that since she smiles all the time they're not sure if it's genuine or that since her routines are always precise and perfect which make them too perfect is pretty ridiculous lol

Carrie Ann said she was too perfect. And it was a stupid criticism. What's also stupid is random nasty comments from the safety of an anonymous computer screen about someone who is doing the best they can in the full view of the public eye. Toxic, cowardly and the height of immaturity. But maybe being a perfect troll is an ambition too...

I feel it's body type bigotry more than race. They expect her to look like a 6ft tall ballerina when she dances, but she's literally a 4ft tall muscular woman. Her limbs aren't long enough to make her look "elongated" while staying on beat. Figure skating judges are also bigoted in this area, they give low Presentation scores to muscular female skaters.
You're probably correct but they should totally take that into account since they know so this.
i love how my comments disappeared, Simone is arrogant and immature. A smile is a person who appreciates the audience, her pro, and the opportunity to be on DWTS. She is not the youngest person to be on dwts, or the only hard working Olympian. Brooke Shields, zendaya, shawn Johnson, kristi yamaguchi, Bindi Irwin were young and exuded appreciation. i don't expect her to show the class that Meryl Davis showed but a respect for the judges would show maturity. and you will note that they were either very young or very hard working award winning gold medalist in this list
JustWatching2 She worked her behind off and knew someone was going to still find something wrong with her performance just like they did saying that her dancing was "too perfect" She was probably waiting for the bomb to drop and it did. Most wouldn't be smiling either after being told that your hours of hard work means your"too perfect". What do they want her to do fall on her face? Don't let people keep you down Simone. Always do your best. The show isn't smiling with the stars it's dancing with the stars. All the spiteful jealous callous haters can take several seats.
yeah like simone is the ONLY celebrity that has ever worked hard. and if You LISTENED to the entire critique it was about making her more enjoyable not a robot. perfection DOES NOT WIN MIRROR BALLS
Simone has never displayed arrogance in any venue I have seen, not on this show and not in her competitive career. The only time she's even come close is when she winked at Shawn Johnson during her floor routine at US Nationals - even that was a show of confidence and fun rather than arrogance. As far as showing appreciation, she has done that repeatedly even before Rio. And she did not disrespect the judges - she was asked a leading question by Tom and she answered it in a way that shut down all response - and WELL DONE to Simone for that!
As for Meryl Davis - 1) she had Maks to back-talk the judges for her; 2) she literally grew up learning to perform with a male partner; 3) she was 26 (maybe 27) years old and already had the benefit of socializing at college as well as a boyfriend who stayed quiet as she and Maks let their dance floor chemistry take them to the win. It is not fair to either of these ladies to draw comparisons.
Meryl Davis is in a class of her own far above any i have ever seen on this show. So no you can't compare. Now as far as Simone, every one is commenting on her comment. and i have to say that in my opinion as is valid as ANYONE ELSE'S simone showed ARROGANCE, who cares what wins gold medals? The judges are trying to have her win a mirror ball!! and even Maks is out of line when he mouths off to the judges that are doing their job. simone as you all point out is a child and NEEDS TO LEARN. what a disrespectful culture we live in smh
