- My wife had wanted a dishwasher for a long time. When the house was built, a hot water hookup and a separate electrical outlet for a dishwasher were added. For some reason, instead of adding a dishwasher under the counter, a kitchen cabinet was put in. After getting quite a few estimates, and doing some research, I decided to cut out the cabinet and install the dishwasher myself. I made a video of it. It took me two days from start to finish. If it hadn't been my first time, I probably could have done it a little bit faster. A lot of time was spent going back and forth to the hardware store. I saved at least a couple thousand dollars by doing this myself.
I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one that can't find a contractor who will modify a cabinet to accommodate a dishwasher! Thank you for your share, doesn't look that complicated, so I'm ready to tackle it myself!
This is amazing work. It gives me the confidence to do this job. The difficult part of it is to cut the cabinet. Mine is a little better because the dishwasher location is not at the end of the counter top, so that i have good support from the two sides

You showed every step, and each step you showed worked well. Thank you, as yours was the only video on UA-cam that showed us what we needed to know to complete this project ourselves.

Im doing this in my kitchen looks like i want to record the whole thing since my cabinet is 20 inch only so i need to extend the cabinet depth, add plumbing to my basement since im 7ft away from the sink pipeline then add outlet. Great video!
Andrew do you think the 2x4 supports are really necessary. The cabinet width is only 27 inches and it has both the left right and rear sides of cabinet for support ? I may skip that part.
