Excellent video! This is what we wore in the U.S. Navy to keep our uniforms looking sharp! This is an excellent, quick and thorough video of how they work. I am a big fan of the cross. Thanks for sharing this wonderful product with the world.
I announce professional wrestling events and that means I'm hopping in and out of the ring while wearing a suit. I just caught a photo of myself with my shirt all out on one side. I am definitely going to try some shirt stays.
I am wearing those now and guys complements always my shirt and actually it enhance your style . but but but . if you wear them with shirt without suit jacket and you have belly fat ( it will show ) as those actually when the pull down they show some of your body details so better to have ( a kinda flat stomach and a good chest or you can be slender )
I do have belly fat and I still think look better with stays, than without them) Because without them all that belly fat untangles shirt really fast and I have a huuuge bulb of farbic in that area and that makes my stomack look even bigger than it really is
There are also stirrup style shirt stays. Keeping your bearing when one comes loose from the sock; snapping a testicle, while at a formal function, makes you feel like you can deal with any stress.
@@sharpanddapper with the stirrup strap style shirt stays; it’s most likely that it will not happen, but the kind with the buttons that attach to the sock has happened to me and other people I know.

Hooyah. Haha. The Navy introduced me to them, but now and days I still wear them whenever I put on a dress shirt. Still remember one of them snapping during a uniform inspection. Not my best moment. Haha
I just received my Y shirt tucks ,They are too long and loose when attached...I shortened the length as short as possible but still too long! are these meant to be for guys who are 6ft only? Am I applying them wrong? I need some help. Thanks
+Prakash Patel Hi, Did you order them from us? We don't sell the Y style and I don't really know what the product is made so I couldn't tell you I'm afraid. If not from us, where did you get them from?
can u more explanation about how tight or how loose it should be? and what exactly is the difference between the cross and straight? should i use shirt stays when I'm wearing shirt only without a suit?
it's actually more noticeable results without a suit. if a shirt untuck from your behind ( ° ʖ °) a suit will be hiding it, but without one you are left with a wrinkle mess for everyone to see.
Aren’t there stays that attach to your boxer shorts? I’ve seen pictures of them, but from the 1940s-50s. Do they still make them? I think they were an alternative to sock garters.
There are indeed versions that attaches your underwear to your socks. I have tried them and I'm not a fan. The tension that you get from the underwear version is not great and when you raise your arms, your underwear follows suit, and there's nothing pulling the underwear/shirt back down.
Thank you. It occurred to me later that they were from the days when socks did not have elastic. Although elastic only works so well. I do use sock garters on occasion, especially with sheer socks or formal silk socks.
the metal clips rub on the leg and when doing a lot of walking can rub the skin raw. Any ideas what to wrap the metal clips with? I thought about using band aids but I don't if it will mess the clip up. the metal clip i'm referring to is the piece that makes it loose or tight. This does make the shirt look good though.
First of all, are they from me, and if so, when did you buy them? I have never experienced that problem. It sounds like one of two things. 1, it can be set to tight. I have worn them to tight and it's not comfortable. 2, It can be nickel allergy. I changed to nickel free clips a while back for that reason.
Do they only work with specific fabrics? I find them unclipping from both my socks and my shirt, even though I've made a special effort to clip the fabric in tightly
I'm 14 years old and I'm in JROTC. Using shirt stays for my uniform is the hardest thing on this planet. Attaching them to my socks are no problem at all but for some ungodly reason I cant attach them to my shirt. Any tips?
Hi Marcus. Great to hear that you are using Shirt Stays. Different brands use different kinds of clips. May I ask which brand you are using? Some are using a hard plastic pad whilst we use a rubber. Is the problem that they come off or you cant get them on in the first place? Feel free to drop me a message on my facebook.com/sharpanddapper and I can make you a little video on how I put them on. Johan
sharp & dapper sorry I dont have a facebook. Anyways they're easy to put on the socks but hard to put on the shirt. Im not sure which brand they are (sorry).
nick Smith Hi Nick. It can be a few reasons. It can be the clip unfortunately, or it can be the positioning and tension. Is it always the same one that comes undone? I used to have problem with the back right clip that attached to the shirt. Didn’t matter if I changed the straps around, always that one.
I wear these on occasion, but they cause my skin to break out in a rash and I itch like crazy for a few days.. So I give them a rest, then repeat... I wonder if my skin is just too sensitive for the rubber and elastic
Hi Goodbud I'm sorry to say this but it seems that you might have a nickel allergy. This isn't that common but unfortunately happens on occasion. If you send me an email on info@sharpanddapper.com I'll see what I can do.
Personally, I'm not a fan of the Stir up style. They won't keep your socks up and you can't go sock less. I have tried them and I didn't like having them around my foot, walking on the elastic all day.
I've seen one shirt stay that actually instead of connecting to the sock, it was strapped on your thigh and then you can clip it to your shirt just like a shirt stay buuut! I cannot find them ANYWHERE!!
Isn't it easier to attach the clips to your shirt BEFORE you put it on? And do the straps feel strange when you sit down, or do you simply forget that you have them on?
+xx mem Hi, I find it easier to attach when I'm wearing everything. I have done it like that for the last 7 years so I guess that's what I'm used to. The first couple of days you will notice them but once you worn them for a while you won't think about them.
+sharp and dapper Thanks for the reply. I guess my other concern is that if a clip attached to the shirt comes loose, it will work its way down to your shoe and get dragged along as you walk, but maybe I'm overthinking this.
I have the KKandjay ones and I lift my shirt over ass on to my back like a girl wearing a dress while I'm sitting on the can. Tension keeps it there too so I don't get a skidmark on my shirt.
My biggest concern is: Will the straps show through your pants when you walk, squat, kneel, or move in any way? You know? Like how normal people move about. These shirt stays are a good idea if you are a mannequin that's gonna stand straight all day. Real life doesn't work that way.
TR That’s one of the most disgusting comments I’ve got on here. I have worn Shirt Stays for 10 years and it never happened. You have to be pretty stupid for it to happen. 😂

Wow, just must be quite tall or the shirts very short. That's the problem with a lot of shirts these days. The companies want to save money and the best way to do it is to use less fabric.
It does take a few times to get used to it. Check out this video I made where I explain a bit more how to attach the clip. ua-cam.com/video/J_rMEt1b10I/v-deo.html I hope it will help.
