Good to know!! Both my temps and humidity seem okay though I was worried about the humidity most. My house tends to stay around 53% humidity when the AC is running and highest I have seen it on a cooler day without much AC use was 67%. As Texas gets toward August temps will be higher and usually can't get my house much below 80F when it is 120F outside. :p Good to know I can still work resin then too. - Heidi
Because I work in the basement AC had room temp at 19c so I put on a space heater and run it over night to keep the temp at an optimal level. Works Just fine. I also warm The bottles a bit before starting .
Thank you for this tutorial! I was about to give up on one of my tumblers because it will not cure. We have had high humidity in our area and this gives me hope that it will cure with lower humidity.
I wish I had a resin room or a studio. Being in the UK, I keep my items I a box away from harsh sunlight. I take it out to rest at room temp while I set out my materials. I normally open the door as well.
So is there no way to make resin fully heat resistant? This is an issue for those of us who sell resin items such as keychains, jewelry, cups, etc. I don’t want to sell people items that will turn soft..and I live in Texas so it’s consistently hot here.
It is important to see what the recommended maximum heat tolerance is for the resin you are using, some can handle higher heats. With that said, exposure to high heats can soften most resin to some degree so it is worth noting and taking precautions.
@@Leahweahbeah ArtResin is heat resistant up to 120F, temperatures above this can cause damage to the resin. High temperatures below 120F can cause temporary softening.
I have used 7 types of resin. I'm Very interested in trying Your resin... and will be comparing all the epoxy resin I've used, with detailed information .. from what I see and hear, I may become a Strictly, Art Resin user..
In the City I live it's Hot, there is a lot of humidity but it also rains out of nowhere and recently my works are coming out bendy, i don't what to do anymore, for example today the temperature is 28 c and humidity 77%, and tomorrow is expected to Rain, temperature of 29 c and humidity 79%
Have you tried running dehumidifier in your workroom? Ideal temperatures are between 75-85 F (24-30c), ideal humidity is around 50% and you just want to try to keep those temperatures constant during the first 24 hours of your cure time. Please have a look at our blog on what causes bendy resin for tips on how to avoid it : www.artresin.com/search?type=article&q=bendy
When my resin bracelet gets warm outside (I'm in Arkansas) it like droops... Once I get back into a cool place it hardens up. Anything I can do about that?
Hi Kelly. When exposed to very warm temperatures, epoxy resin can soften temporarily and then return to full hardness once the temperature returns to more moderate. Unfortunately there is no way to fix this.
Thank you for all the info. Now what do I do when I have made some mistakes and my resin did not cure at all so I scraped it and it still feels to wet to sand and do over. Its ceramic tiles I'm working on. What to do?????
Hi Pamela, You can pour right over the sticky resin as long as you have scraped off as much of the wet resin as possible. The sticky surface will provide tooth to the fresh layer.
Hi there I'm from India and here the temperature is 46degree in my city..I use 3:1 ratio art epoxy resin,,my part A that is resin part has become harden in the container it self..is there any method to turn it liquid as it was before..plz plz help
Hi! Unfortunately you likely will not be able to make it liquid again. I would reach out to the manufacturer of the epoxy you used to see if they can help.
Joanne is back :). It is best to avoid extreme temperatures for your tools and materials as well as your ArtResin- Joanne refers to avoiding pouring your resin overtop of a hot metal tray for example.
Oh no, I didn’t realize some of this. So it would be a bad idea to ship resin artwork in the summer from Georgia? It’s both extremely hot and humid here. ☹️ It might ruin the piece in hot delivery truck?
We know that the high heat will soften the surface of your resined artwork and can cause damage. You can try to minimize the potential damage by packing it securely if shipping is unavoidable. Please have a look at our blog on how to safely package your artwork for shipping : www.artresin.com/blogs/artresin/how-to-pack-art-for-shipping?_pos=1&_sid=cabb1461e&_ss=r
I pre-warmed my art resin once way too hot. It was in the winter so it was cold and I needed to warm it as I'm in the basement but it kicked within 10 minutes and started to turn into goo.
Oh no, sounds like your resin over heated and flash cured. Its best to warm your resin up to warm room temperature gently using a warm water bath. You don't want to add too much heat as the chemical reaction produces its own heat and if it gets too warm it will flash cure and make a real mess.
Hi Stresa, ArtResin is heat resistant up to 120F so you will not want to use it on dishes that may come into contact with temperatures this high or potentially higher.
Great tips. Thank you. Perhaps for your next video leave out the music. I love music but this time the beat of the music, for me, produced knocking sounds which was distracting from the otherwise perfect video. I don’t mean to be critical and perhaps I am the only one bothered by this style of music. Thank you again for the great tips.
It's nice to have you back with Art Resin. Great tutorial as usual. Thanks
