It was deceivingly windy day and I found myself out doing some soul-searching...
Okay, so I just went out in search of some flat ground to practice some soul slides. Here's how it went.

Wind can be absolutely demoralizing at times. I’m a huge soul slide evangelist. I use it more than anything when city skating and within 2 sessions of learning it, I was magic sliding confidently.

I was out yesterday trying to get the soul slide, it was damp so that was definitely helping. I’m back out again today in the dry to see how it goes

Great video as always Rich. here in Boston we get a Northwesterly wind and there's no way to escape it. It seems like it blows everyday.
Yeah the wind seems to be a constant element here on the west coast of Scotland; it’s very annoying!
April last year, down here was freezing, felt like January. very dry though. Its been really wet this last week. Thursday morning was nice and felt like proper spring. Hopefully will stay consistently warmer from now on. I dont know how it is up there but we got blossom on some trees already, that must be a good sign.
I found that when i was practicing the soul slide, i had to sit lower than i was expecting to get the angle of the front foot sharp enough to slide.

Man, our weather was pretty Awesome last year, I can’t lie. Defo need that angle on the souls slide, was out practicing it today. Felt pretty good. 👍

I need this. Downhills make me sh*t my pants and I end up doing repeat powerslides to get down them. Soul slides, and maybe then magic slides, might give me control without having to powerslide to a stop every few metres.
I still recommend slalom turns for downhills. Feels like I have more control and does burn out the wheels quite as much.
How long do the Oxelo Wheels last for you, Rich?

They lasted about 9 months. It depends on when you’d usually switch out your wheels. I still have them. They’re a bit small now but they’d still work.
I’ll be posting a longer video in a few days. Should be off interest to MF500/900 skaters. 😁
When i try to do this, my sliding feet never slides, the wheels keep roling, is it possible they are the problem? I use RB pro x with rollerblade supreme wheels 80/85A
Chances are you’re not getting quite low enough. When you get low, you’ll defo slide. Push forward with your heel.
Random question. I’m a size 9 in shoe. I ordered an 11.5 womens from oxelo as they don’t have a size 11 to fit my size 9. I was told that they run small. How small do they run? What size did you get? If you don’t mind me asking.
I’m a UK9, but they don’t do a 9 so I ordered UK9.5 and they fit fine. I’d order up but perhaps not 2.5 sizes up. If you can try them at a local store it would help.👍
If you ordered in the USA I also wonder about the sizing as they listed them as women's instead of men's. Did you get them yet? Is there a measurement on centimeters or European/UK sizing written anywhere? They're on sale for $90 bucks so I have had my eye on them
@@kenmastersmaster I followed a chart online. Supposedly a size 11 in women is equivalent to a size 9 in men. I ordered an 11.5 in women as I was told by an Oxelo CS rep that they don’t carry a size 11 in women. But they run small anyway so hopefully it’ll fit me right. 🤞🏼 I’ll get them Friday so I’ll let you know then lol

@@superhoagietv7315 well what I really wanted was the mf900 because I like the color a lot better then red and white but they don't offer that in the USA. And its anyone's guess if it's really women's sizes or if they just messed up and you'll need to return for smaller ones
