Look mama, his eyes are glowing!
Another great offering from Zoran and the guys at Dawner Prince Effects, Croatia. This time we have a versatile OD/Distortion with 4 clipping options, a clean and independent ~30dB Boost, 2 band active EQ and enough gain to take you from heaven to hell. And the little guy's eyes light up, just like a real megalomaniac.

Pozdrav za bracu Hrvate i fantastichnog Dawner Prince-a! :)
Sorry Burgs just wanted to say hello to our neighbours, great pedal, I salute to you man for choosing this pedal builder, he is superb. And fantastic demo of course.
After the first 10 seconds: Wow, I want that pedal!
What a tone!!!---VERY warm and natural sounding box!!!---Love it!!!---
And find a pedal that you were demoing. I was fortunate enough that Zoran from Dawner Prince was able to make one of his Diktator pedals for me. It is exceptionally well build and incredibly versatile. I am amazed at its scope. Zoran of Dawner Prince is indeed very dedicated to his creations, which I believe will earn him a place as one of the finer builders that are are out there. Thanks for sharing this with the rest of the crew. I'm sure yours won't be going far from your place or board.
Have their red rox distortion and boonar delay. On my way to get this one as well. Biggest fan of dawner prince pedals....
Great pedal, I have one too.
That's true, you're not using crap. But an AC30 goes into compression a hell of a lot quicker than a Fender, JTM, HIWATT Custom or Class A Laney circuit. And that's why you're getting sag. The pedal's dynamics are being compromised dramatically. Try your pedals with a Twin, clean channel of a Laney VH (anything) or HIWATT Custom and your sag will be but a memory. True! :) However, the AC30's compression threshold has its merits - just ask Brian May or anyone else that swears by them.
Once again another solid demo from a solid player. Thanks Brett.
Music Zoo, NY. They commission and carry most of the Charvel Custom Shop stuff. They're out of stock at the moment but I've seen there 'incoming' list and it's really something. Keep an eye out for them in the coming months.
I'm a Laney endorsee and have been for many years. I know the guys and they look after me. Plus, they build great amps. Other amp choices are dependant on the job at hand - HIWATT for muffs, Fender for general stuff, for example. I keep a selection to use as I see fit for any given occasion. Cheers, B.
The AC30 is a great, great amp. But it doesn't like drive pedals much. It likes boosters - old school boosters like Range Masters, etc - not TubeScreamers or distortions. Tonebenders are pretty cool with it, Superfuzzes... old stuff. If you want to run pedals and get the best out of them, you're going to have to break your promise out of necessity. I know, I've tried to make them work myself and that's why you'll probably never see me use one to demo a modern pedal with. Cheers, B.
Love the eyes on this one! Awesome touch \m/
Indeed you can and this is something I failed to do in the demo (my apologies) because it basically just injects a whole lot more volume to the amp (the boost runs post Detonator section). Cheers, B.
Hell yes. Agreed on all counts. Cheers, B. :)
Spot on.
Waiting patiently for that ZT Lunchbox review, Burgs! I'm interested in them, but waiting to see your demo first. :-)
Love the shirt mate
Yeah, the Super-Sonic has clean headroom up to a point. I couldn't use it on big stages because it doesn't have the volume and if I tried to turn it up too much all of its headroom would be out the door. At low(isn) volume in my studio, however, it's fine. I can't speculate on the HIWATT you tried but I'd only ever consider the 50W or 100W UK Customs if I wanted headroom. The Vox, as Wethewax has pointed out, is superb with a treble booster or similar but most modern drive pedals will suffer.
thats an awsome sounding guitar amazing
Well, with the gig I'm running now, I'm completely clean into the normal channel and I have a Walrus Audio Iron Horse set up as a kind of faux dirty channel.
One sound I do get that is absolutely wicked is cascading my muff into the Iron Horse. Silky butter.
The saddest part about this whole endevour is that I promised myself the 30 would be the last amp that I'd buy as I never saw myself needing anything bigger.
The pedal demos on my channel are done with the 30, you can see a bit what I mean.
Nice Charvel
Best t shirt ever.
Hey Brett I have a question, can you turn on both sides of the pedal (the boost and the OD) at the same time, or it's made to use them separately only?
You can use both.
Sounds sweet, Burgs. Is the body all Koa by the way, or is it just a Koa top? Oh, and that's quite the shirt you've got there. All around, great stuff.
Thanks Brett. For once, I was able to look down at the floor,
How did you get that guitar, Burgs? It's really awesome. Did you have to get it straight from Charvel?
you have a mini marshall amp- cool
Hey Brett, Can you tell me what you preferred all purpose workhorse amp is? Something that works well on its own or with pedals. You seem to use the Laney quite a bit lately, is there a reason for that?
Quick question Brett.
How do you not get any sag out of these pedals?
I even have some of the same pedals as you and a lot of them sag out. I really, really despise sag.
Like that intro sound, if I go for that heavy a sound, normally it all just turns to mush. I'm not using crap either, I got an American strat into an AC30 and some of these are really nice pedals, they just don't seem to work with me.
One big chunk o' Koa. A little heavy, actually. Sounds good, though.
Heheh. Yes, I must apologise. Every intention of getting that one done, soon...
Hmmm, that is somewhat troubling.
That supersonic you have there, seeing as you use that in demos I assume you don't get sag from that?
Maybe I should trade one of my smaller amps in for the SS 22. I've heard good things about them.
Thing is though. I've gotten sag from just about every amp I've had. One of which was a 20 watt Hiwatt (not an expensive one, but true to the name) and I still got sag from some distortion and fuzz boxes.
One time is was so bad it just sounded like a bass drum.
very 80's
