      @@Meritshine can you please make a video in which you solve syllogism questions where the options are a particular combination of conclusions and you have to select which combination is logically related. There are no videos on this right now and these questions can be very difficult as more than one option usually seems right. You can find such questions in CAT.

    • @rohan852
      @rohan852 6 років тому

      Meritshine Thanks for your reply. I thought along the same lines earlier but have changed my opinion.
      Statement: Sachin is a male.
      Conclusion: Sachin may be a male.
      If you say Sachin is a male, I can never conclude that Sachin may be a female which is an incorrect conclusion. Here we have to choose between definite or possible so both are mutually exclusive event.
      Hence, for 100% sure thing we can't doubt.

      Because I've seen 2-3 videos on UA-cam and they have took very simple examples and after that I started solving questions. Few were correct and most of them were wrong. You are simply great sir. Doing a great job.
    Its not like that no one teaches these chapters but the way you simplifies puzzles is just amazing.
    Really thank you. Going to watch all your videos.
    I just have 2 questions, right now I am preparing for SBI PO 2018. As the level of questions is similar to CAT,so I am referring Arun sharma's book for Apti and reasoning( for mains). Is that necessary and sufficient enough ? Or any other books ?
    2. Is it necessary to attempt mock ?
    I missed OICL AO, UIIC ASST by few marks, RBI Asst by 2 marks and IBPS Clerk by 4, I didn't attenpted any mock back then.
    I am not attending any classes.

    sir i got a issue with one of the ques which i was solving in book which says
    STATEMENT-1-All gliders are parachutes.
    2-no parac. is an airoplane.
    3-all airopl. are helicopter.
    CONCLUSION- 1- NO Helicopter is a glider (which i think follows)
    2- all parachutes being helicopter is a possibility ( according to me it can be a possibilty but ques disagree it)
    kindly reply

    • @Meritshine
      @Meritshine  8 років тому +1

      You are right, Conclusion 2 follows; it's a possibility.
      But with the same logic, Conclusion 1 does not follow. How can gliders and helicopters be necessarily disjoint when all parachutes can be helicopters...Think about it.

    • @FitRahulChandra
      @FitRahulChandra 8 років тому

      thank u so much for your quick response, frankly telling i wasn't expecting your reply on this time,
      so the answer to ques that says conclusion 2 is wrong, is wrong as there is a possibility in it with option that either I OR II conclusion follows

    • @Meritshine

    some A are B is obviously and impliedly means that some A are B not all A are not B. so in Case 3- only 3.1 & 3.3 are correct.

      We will give you the logic.
      You will observe that all words are odd numbered words. The number represents the middle letter of each word.
      The Alphabets represent the first letter of each word + 2 , for example: (t + 2 = v), (w + 2 = y) and so on.
      Also, see that the next letter of each middle letter in the given words are vowels. Also, note that they are not in order.
      Symbols used for vowels: ????
      I am sure you will crack it now!

    Regarding 3.2. Some A are B. When you say "Some" would it mean few A are B. So Most A are not B ? This is kind of confusing in context of what you mean by "some"? It could be US English vs British English terminology. Actually, same goes for 3.4 in which it is looking like Venn diagram is saying All A are B. Also, 3.1 and 3.3 are making perfect sense to me. so please explain. thanks

    • @Meritshine
      @Meritshine  5 років тому

      Don't get confused here, it is very simple, and has got nothing to do with US/UK English. It is the language of logic.
      "Some A are B" means some A are definitely B, and there's no information about the rest, which means All A may as well turn out to be B. Just that you do not have any information about that.
