Only Athletes and Volunteers have access to transition area, which includes access to all the transition bags. So whoever tampered with the bikes could have easily accessed the T2 bags as well. There's no reason for the 2nd place guy to make something like that up and I highly doubt someone that experienced (considering his 2nd place finish) would forget to put his nutrition in his bag.
Re: Transition tampering... I once got into T1 after an epic swim, to find my helmet and T1 bag gone! 😞 A faster swimmer could not find his bag, so took mine instead! He was DQ'd and I had to ride the Kraichgau 70.3 wearing a borrowed 'old ladies' MTB helmet!
The T100 series has been super exciting to watch all throughout the year and you can tell the team has been listening to community feedback. I know they have been trying to emulate a Formula 1 type of series with their content, and I think they’ve done a really good job of it, especially when it comes to the race week build-up and race day broadcast.
Tom De Bruyn is a good friend and training partner of mine. He checks his gear up and down. Dots his i's and crosses his t's. For both of his tires to be flat, (and not popped from the heat), and valve caps to still be up and untwisted is definitely suspicious.
When I did Kona a few years ago my crank came off (I had specifically checked it the night before putting the bike in) and after the race when packing the bike found the both valves were loose (amazingly I didn't flat). What's laughable is that I was racing 70+ So there are some jokers volunteering in Kona.
I usually agree with you guys but you seem to be to nonchalant about the whole tampering thing. It was not just letting air out of someones tire. A lose seat post could have let to a major high speed crash. Also Fritz Ferner and Lars Wichert had lose through axles. Someone had no problem putting athletes health in danger.
No, no, we are not nonchalant about the whole situation. This is serious, but equally we’re not prepared to start throwing suspicion or shade at anyone in particular. We will let Ironman do their job
Amazing this channel is about to get to one million. I was here from the start. I watched GCN for a while and tried to be the 1 millionth subscriber there after not subscribing to any channel.. I was like 40 some people too late haha.
The cheating allegation is the men's 35-39 AG, so I believe all of their bikes are racked next to each other. The winner of that AG also has a history of cheating, the finger is pointed at him, fairly or not. The absurdity is that Patrick Lange was the real men's 35-39 age group champion, not who ever the culprit trying to take out the competition.
I love to watch Alex Yee run, as Mark said we all would like to think we could run like him but to put into context he ran the last mile (1600m) in 4:12 (2:37min/km)!
don't know if you guys are up for it but Andrew Feather will be hosting a group ride on Alpe d' Huez this Thursday evening at 6pm on Rouvy. If you check his Strava he also has a code for a free 30 days.
After taking my son to compete in the World Triathlon Age Group finals in Spain, I can't say I was impressed by some of the organisation, so vote rigging doesn't surprise me
Love it, guys !! How terrible that someone messed with people kit-bikes, my opinion it's definitely someone who was competing for the win but knew that would not beat the other top people. This winning list could be the answer!! I hope IM have footage and they get exposed. Maybe it would be a great idea for all transitions to be recorded.
Is it just me, or has GTN recently changed their camera and lighting? I feel like there's more intense shadows and difference between foreground/background
Of course chain waxing is a big thing. Who doesn’t like a cheap gain and the good feeling at the start line that you have the fastest possible setup that comes with it 😁
The Coros Pace Pro is going to be a hit, AMOLED display with reasonably battery life, maps on board, an improved processor and a good price point IMO. I like my Apex 2 but the Pace Pro is going to eat sales of the Apex 2 / 2 Pro for sure.
Have you had any issues with wonky elevation with your Apex 2? This is my third COROS and I love the brand overall, but I seem to eventually have altimeter issues after a while...? Customer service has been fantastic, though to help me sort it out.
@@iggalan Thanks, great to hear! Mine is fine for a while (usually a year or more) but as I'm a triathlete and swim several times a week I'm wondering if the water starts affecting the insides.
The T100 contracted athletes have to race 6 (maybe 5 now) races, right? What happens if they don't due to injury? I'm guessing LCB hasn't met the contract for example.
I don't like "governing bodies." Who ever decided they get to be in charge in the first place? Really themselves, long before us today have to live with it. Some people got together and the IOC or the national Olympic committee decided they get to be in charge, I am sure. I wish it was more like auto racing, with so many rival organizations duking it out for viewers. Thats not always great in the short term, but is in the long run.

I’m rooting for you guys to hit 1,000,000 subscribers by Christmas ! This is my favorite Tri channel !

So curious to find out what's behind the tampering scandal! 🕵️♂️

Wow, thanks for sharing this with us. We really hope something is done about it all! Very sorry to hear this too of course
“It’s cold-is that a time of day?”
God, what a relatable mood, somehow.

Again look at Roth - high security.

If this was indeed sabotage - and if they ever find the culprit(s) - they should be banned for life.
Thanks Dave 😂
Tri spy: Sam Laidlow! I doubt that the bubbles up the nose helped his race experience
Tri spy: Menno Koolhaas 🇳🇱- rookie Kona achievement of the year!

Tri Spy - Matt Hanson!! Was a hard one, but apparently not hard enough :P

SuperTri is AMAZING! I have a hard time being interested in 1.5mile swim but I can train and do 300m 🔥
It is Sam Laidlow obviously.
Tri spy: Sam Laidlow when he took an entire 2 liter coke bottle for himself in Kona, only to end up taking a couple of sips and throwing it away
Forget about Ironman revealing any results from video footage.
Tri Spy: it’s Menno Koolhaas! First out of the water, not so lucky with the Coke bottle 😅
Morgan placed 14th at Valencia not 143rd 🙂Love the show!
Tri Spy: Menno Koolhaas, a non flattering moment caught on camera - whoops!

Used Indie velo for about a year, works well. New updates every Monday.

I'm afraid there's no lighting at all. Budget cuts?
I HOPE base training isn’t a waste of time, I’m almost through my fourth hour! 😵💫

Some of the world triathlon Torremolinos age group bikes all had sidewall punctures in transition they were all racked in the same area.
I came to say the same thing. In addition, in one age group the top 5 ranked (medal contenders) were all affected.

@@megmikerodriguez6011 No, zero issues so far. I've done many runs with a secondary device and the data matches.

Trispy: Kris Blu throwing up on bike?
On the tri spy everyone saw Sam laidlow grabbing the two litter of coke while trying to bring his core temp down

Training peaks virtual was rubbish on apple, just switched itself off before I could ride, on both iPad and phone !!
Are we going to see a carbon super croc?
Tri spy: Menno Koolhas, the pioneer of cooling with coke
Haha, is it Sam trying to unbonk 😅 in tri spy?
