ELVIS is the only person that has ever been inducted in 4 or 5 HALL OF FAMES! He is in the COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME, R & B, BLUES, & Of course ROCK and ROLL, and the one that he treasured most,GOSPEL!!! He recorded over 900 songs and was in 37 movies. He had one record that went to #2 In the U.S.A. and #1 in the UNITED KINGDOM that was GOSPEL. IT is one of my favorite songs of his, it is "GOING TO THE CHAPEL" PLEASE play this for me! I really love your reactions and the fact that you appreciate his music. He was and always will be the KING OGBROCK AND ROLL!!!
This is shortly before Elvis died. You can see he wasn't the same man. His physical health had deteriorated to the point, that it was just a matter of time. One of the nicest, and most generous people ever. He would give away new cars to poor folk, both Black and white. He bought poor families Homes, and he never told anyone what he was doing. God knew, and now we do too. Elvis was a very Godly man, despite his struggles with prescription drugs for over 40 years. He now sings just for The Lord. God Bless you guys Thanks
We went to a gospel quartet convention in 1966.And we knew Elvis would be in town so we went to Graceland. Elvis kicked my hand getting off a motorcycle in the driveway. My claim to fame 😆
Asia & BJ Please React to Elvis, "Take My Hand, Precious Lord". It brings the tears, & the goosebumps. Emotional, like no other. Gets you in your feels, HARD.😥 Thank you. Take care. Lots of love.♥️
JD Sumner used to let Elvis in the backdoor of the Ellis Auditorium for Gospel music shows. While Elvis later hired JD his bass singer and JD was in the Guiness Book of World records for several years for hitting the lowest note ever recorded. Elvis would also often showcase JD at his concerts, as he would the girls and many of the talent on the stage!
@Let Your LIGHT Forever Shine for 18 years J.D. Sumner held the Guinness World Record for recording the lowest bass note. As of 2011 he was surppassed by only 3 singers. He died Nov 16, 1998.
@@MadisonD941 I got to see him with the Stamps Quartet singing backup for Ronnie McDowell in April of 1996. JD wouldn’t sign any autographs after the show because he was so ill.
Elvis arose at a time when most popular songs averaged about 2&1/2 minutes. It wasn’t until the late 60’s when rock groups began recording more epic tracks by incorporating jazz & classical elements into their music.
Besides being in the Guiness Book Of World Records for 18 years for the lowest bass note, in 1955 when he was singing with the Blackwoods he designed the first custom touring bus. He was instrumental in starting the National Quartet Convention. As a close friend of the family and personal friend of Elvis, J.D. was in charge of making funeral arrangements for Elvis.

That bass is JD Summner one of the best quartet bass singers of all time. Him and Elvis were good friends. While in concert. Elvis had the best back up singers. One of the women was Whitney Houston Mother. He had the best of everything
James Brown said he and Elvis were the only two American originals and there would never be another like that Soul brother. B.B. King said Elvis had a unique way of looking at a song and had he lived there would have been no end to his inventiveness. Those quotes came from The Godfather of Soul and King of the Blues. Even Chuck D had to recant his Fight the Power line and said Elvis gave props to his roots.
I don’t think it’s quite understood just how amazing Elvis’ backups were in their own respects and how they all jumped at the chance to sing/perform with this man. The sweet inspirations, one of them is Cissy Houston, Whitney Houston’s mom. JD Summers who is in the Guinness Book of World records for having the deepest singing voice, James Burton on backup guitar who is known as one of the worlds greatest guitarists that ever lived, Ronnie Tutt a beyond legendary drummer that is on par with the likes of Phil Collins in talent. I didn't even hear Asia's comment that she had goosebumps b4 I posted my last comment..lol. Listening to the rest... Elvis never wrote his own music... but he made every song his own. That's why he was the King..
The bass singer asked Elvis to go to another group and that group was The Oak Ridge Boys. You can get more of the bass from there music as well. One is Elvira.
You need to listen to J.D. SUMNER! He was in the Guiness World Record as the World's LOWEST bass. He sang with the Blackwood Brothers Quartet and here he was with his own group he formed called the STAMPS Quartet. He knew Elvis as a kid BEFORE Elvis became famous and was good friends with Elvis to the end.
Elvis also spent a lot of time in black and mixed church. He lived in black areas and was pretty much accepted without question in the neighborhoods he lived in. He was a nice kid and was just thought of as a kid that lived in the neighborhood that was white.
Are y’all familiar with the Million Dollar Quartet session? It was an impromptu jam with Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins & Johnny Cash in 1956. I highly recommend “Just a Little Talk with Jesus” as a good place to start. Elvis & Jerry Lee sound so good with their call & response vocals that it’s a shame they never recorded an official LP together.
J D Sumner was very sought after , he was definitely the strongest and deepest base i ever heard. Not that there are not othersbut He is one of the top and you will not find better.

I know you all just did a bunch of Elvis songs, but maybe one day you could react to his song “Crying In The Chapel”? It is absolutely beautiful; brings you to tears ❤️
Elvis used to get so keyed up for his shows. When he "left the Building" he would go back to his hotel suite. And he couldn't "come down" - his energy level was too high. He would gather his singers together around a piano, and he would ask them to sing gospel songs, and he would sing with them. For Hours and Hours until the sun came up. Just like Elvis to stop in the middle of a rock concert and sing a gospel song!! Singing with the angels now, much love Elvis!!

Elvis's gospel record was his best selling recording if his entire career and massive catalog of music.
