Small Updates:
Before starting the game, please set the correct mode for the controller.
At the same time press “HOME+X” for pc XBOX360 mode.
At the same time press “HOME+A” for Android mode.
For me it did not have any effect. Even it was so.
Switching in modes between emulators that makes me even more confused 😆
Bro haw much £ is it I get why we have to fidel and mack it your own but it's a lot of work and pros n cons ? You know I love super computer X
I had problems with this as well, but I figured out how to get it to work. Unfortunately, the instructions don't make this very clear...While the controller is turned off, hold the A button while you turn the controller on. The lights will turn purple, indicating Android mode. PS2 (and probably other systems) on this device requires Android mode. As far as I can tell, Android mode works for all of the systems. I don't know if there's a way to use other controllers with the PS2 emulator on this device.
@@dougsnuffer3569 thanks man ❤
I have a question about this system. I got messed up pretty badly in Iraq, and I have issues remembering things. Is setting this up a long, in-depth task. Will I need to do the controls setup every time, or is it a one-shot deal? Would you recommend this system, or is there another out there that has a great Nintendo, Playstation, and Sega library? Any help you could give would be extremely helpful as I am on va disability and I am on a budget and don't want to drop a stack of cash only to be hosed. Thank you in advance for any info you can give.
If I buy a better controller with dual shock compatible with Android will it vibrate with the games?
The manual says that the controller has two modes: Xinput and Android. There are more keys in Android mode, so the default mode of x5 pro is Android mode. Press and hold the home + A button to switch the controller mode to Android mode. At this time, the controller lights up purple.
Yup try'd it... let me go back to this later on again.
[ANYONE HAVING PROBLEMS WITH CONTROLLERS READ THIS]When you first get the console the ps2 games might seem like the only ones that work with the controller. You have to configure the controls on any emulator your playing on. Some of them will be prefilled and will work but i noticed with the dolphin emulator and retro arch you have to configure the controllers.
With the gamesir controller the android and xbox mode doesnt really make a difference. but it if your using a different controller like the dualshock ps2 type controllers if you press the “mode” button on the controller it will actually switch between the android and xbox mode.
To tell the difference between the modes is simple. While configuring the controller pay attention to what it says when assigning the buttons. each button should have its own label, for example, if when you assign button A to button A to configure it will say something like “axis 1” and that “axis 1” is what represents button A. While configuring if you see “axis 1” pop up again even though you already assigned the button then its in android mode.
Hope that makes sense. I figured out every problem with this thing so far. Had it for a couple weeks now if anyone needs help with anything let me know
just having issues with PS2, I am in the menu where to configure the controller. but have no clue what to configure them to...help?? I figured out gamecube no issues
@@j.j.meredith8492 go to controller 1 and there should be all the buttons. Bind the controls yourself and you should be fine. If u look in the general tap i believe, sometimes if u click the “save configuration” option that somehow helps too i think. just keep playing around with the controls and figure it out along the way. If u still need help lmk, im at work right now so its little harder trying to give u a visual explanation on what to do but u need to set the controller binds for ur controller.
@@j.j.meredith8492what did you Do for gamecube to work ?
I mapped my gamesir controller in dolphin and it does not recognize the right directional push on the left joystick. Idk what to do.
@@martinenationale6205
Honestly I just looked it up on UA-cam.
I had to mess with it more then once.
Had more issues with PS 2. But finally got that to work.
Make sure you are using the "Xbox mode" controller setting. That is used for only the Game Cube and PS2 games, the Android controller setting is for everything else.
You have to hold down the middle home button and "A" or "X" at the same time when starting the console.
It's in the booklet that came with.
This looks sooo cool! I’m currently running the Super Console X2 & this looks like the PERFECT UPGRADE ‼️
I just have one question, do you know if the Sharp X68000 have Save States? I’ve been really digging that Console/PC lately but the Emulator I’m using on my RG35XX doesn’t have them
Select is to insert coins. And what's going on with atari jaguar it runs fine on mine.
Select doesn't work for me here.
And Atari jaguar was also not running great with Retro Ralph.
What a hot mess 😳
Hey Wicked! Thanks for putting in the work to make these videos informative & entertaining. I just brought this system and it’s not bad for me at all. I want to know if you can have a video showing how to upload games onto this hard drive to play on the X5. Can you do that?
I agree I'm having the same problem
@@tonypacino7034 I just want SVR 2007 & 2011 on PS2, and CvS 2 on Naomi or Dreamcast. If I can get those games on this console & they run smoothly, I’ll be more than satisfied.
The problem you are having could be with the controller. You have to turn it on holding buttons, like for Android it's A+Home when you turn it on, or like X+Home for PC. I think there is an R1+ Home but possibly that's for my MOCUTE. I get them mixed up, wished I had stuck with just GAMESIR.
Oh, and the controller manuals are not useless, I refer to them frequently.
I try'd also other controller same problem 😳
Let me see if it helps .. now it has been set to PC / Xbox 360 input.
I have a Gamesir T3s model Controller. It doesn't require a dongle to be used with this system. I go to settings, preferences, click the Gamesir controller there and it activates my controller then I press home + a and it's connected perfectly.
I'm looking for something that can play better games like this. Is there anything that can be recommended that is powerful but within a similar budget?
Two weeks ago, Emuelec 4.7 became available. Will the team behind it add a support for S928X? Android TV boxes with this chip are available.
That is interesting .. if they do that would be so much better.
Still are we nog have to much limitations regarding emulators itself ?
@wicked gamer only problems I have is with GameCube games loading
Retro ralph say'd something with his PS2 all games don't work.
They do boot only no controller input.
@@WickedGamerCollector you have to hold home button and a till it turns purple, there are actually 3 modes on controller (wired red, blue wireless, purple for ps2,psp I think )
All retro arc stuff works great cept a few hiccups now and then with graphics once and while with Dreamcast games
Just Open the emulators and configure the controlls automatically. All works fine
I saw a few other reviews, and boy did gave it raving reviews. Mine is supposed to be delivered today so I will see. One review said to reduce frame rate reduction change the shading upscaling from 4K to 3k and it should run fine. Prayerfully that works. Man, I thought this was going to be the jewel of my retro cabs when I made it. Perhaps if I tinker with it enough?
I think its better than this dude makes out, he's doesn't seem to be very smart.
Did you ever get the device and was it worth it?
Just got one on Friday excited to get hands on. Can you connect xbox and ps controllers via bluetooth?
Main problem is getting it all to work
@@WickedGamerCollector so ti add an extra controller is the best idea to just buy another gamesir so they are both the same and have less issues?
It's an improvement in terms of what's included in the overall package and headed in the right direction. Nice amount of power, a respectable controller, and a generous number of games on a separate hard drive. Obviously needs some performance tweaks for a number of games.
If the hard drive also came in some sort of enclosure that could nest under the main android box this thing could truly be amazing.
Definite potential here. Just needs some streamlining.
Yeah they release... and see where it go's.
@@WickedGamerCollector "goes"
Hello, can you please do a video on how to set up the GameCube controller and a video for PS2 two player controller setup? Thanks
Going to see how we can fix this.
PS2 was done .. game cube could get it to work even if I set it all up.
I’m looking for a good launch box build with just PS, PS2, PSP, GameCube, Dreamcast, and Saga Saturn and Saga Genies. Thanks WG!
Just get an android phone galaxy s24 is great phone you can emulate alot of stuff including ps2
I am wondering if we can take one of those Kinhank 12TB drives and connect it the same as the 4TB on the Super Console x5 Pro and play all those other games too? I believe the 12TB drive has xbox games as well..
I would like to know if that is possible too
Yours is the most honest review so far, thank youu
Yeah, Rip and tear when it is really bad. 😁
If you boot from micro sd(make sure sdcard is inserted before power up) with rk3588 version of batocera let it extend the partition and do it stuff. Then add your roms and bios. Jaguar emulation Tempest runs full speed. Using Batocera his way faster then using the consoles inteface.Only downside you need eject you card to use the normal interface. Also supreme retorpie works.
Got mine today, working great🎉
Perfect, only thing it’s lacking is an hard drive enclosure. It would be great in a secondary input on an arcade setup
Can you plug in some 3rd party quality device controller, for example retro bit or similar?
Yes, you can do that indeed.
Wicked..every week there's the BEST CONSOLE😂😂😂
just clickbait ..... its lame
It has a question mark after it. Not really stating it's the best.
Was just thinking the exact same thing lol
@@viewtifuljon8105ye but same thing every post. And there literally all the fucking same
No offence to you Wicked btw mate. I do enjoy your videos 😎
They need to re-design the board with a m.2 SSD slot and pre-configure all the emulators so the controls are working and then it might be worth buying. As they say...back to the drawing board for version 2.0
Could i use this for arcade cabinet
I’m glad you did this video. You review it fairly.
I got that system too but i can’t figure out how to get out of the games to get back to the main menu without unplugging and restarting everything. The home button only works on some things.
Did you ever figure it out
I was hoping you'd review an RK3588 console. I have a couple of RK3588 boards (Orange Pi 5) running Linux and Android and they're absolutely retro-gaming beasts.
can this be put in a cabinet with buttons and sticks or is it not worthwhile
With emulation station Android this might be good, Don't like that used frontend at all. Are the specs better or worth upgrading from the NVidia Shield Tv Pro ?
I would use the shield for basic emulation and streaming.
Emulation get into mini pc with batocera.
Watch a lot of your videos, but glad I didn’t see this first before I bought it, but PS2 you just need to use the air-mouse to select controller in the setup
Will the 8bitdo pro 2 controller work with this?
How do you set up 2 or more players in the PS2? It seems like each controller is sending inputs to both players
Thanks for the video! Bought this after I saw your review
Is there an external enclosure you can recommend for the hard drive I hate having it bare and no air flow… Also would the drive run from an external enclosure plugged into one of the usb ports with a usb type enclosure ?
Main problem is ... they are mostly USB connection. So yeah this is going to be a problem 😅
Maybe a sata 3.0 adapter cable to usb ?
@@WickedGamerCollector this thing has 4 USB ports, surely one of those can be used to hook up the HD with a usb enclosure?
does the controller work if directly plugged in without the dongle?
Do the PS1 games have background music on this console version? X1 - X4 the music is ripped from ps1 games
Hello what or wich lightgun can we use on this box. How to Play lightgun games with lightgun
This is the first one you've reviewed with the RK3588S ? The extra board is pretty clever, cecause now they can use the basic IO board again for newer CPU's. But It must go down in price to be desirable , because now the N100 based systems seems to be the way better option for that price. And then you can build your own batocera install on a external USB drive and run W11 also
Intel N100 it's the king of budget emulation specially compared to this thing 😳
@@WickedGamerCollector It's a bit sad... the RK3588S SBC is on the market for more than a year now, but now I consider it obsolete already with these kind of prices. This besides a TV box is the first complete system I've seen with. Compared to the price of the SBC alone and what you get extra it's a fair price, but not competitive enough. Ah wel things can change in the long run.
(BTW Look for one with Intel N100 under 200 Euro without games, but with DDR5 memory. The games can be bought seperately. )
How can I fix one game that doesn't want to work anymore,,the house of the dead 2 on Dreamcast ,it says now checking and that it ,,,help I try a few things but nothing ,,all the other. Games doing good ,,I played the house of the dead only 3 times ,now it's not working
Hello wicked man how to add games to it.
Bought one got everything to work also the controls for ps2 and deleting that touchscreen i see when playing those games.
Didn't had sound but had to use the remote control for it.
Just got this system, anyone have a solution for the overheating drive? I was trying to think what is the best way to keep this thing cool. Other than it just sitting on the ledge and getting super hot. Anyone with some good ideas please let me know
JUST GOT THIS, PRETTY AWESOME. HOWEVER 2 BIG ISSUES WITH PS2 GAMES. 1ST I CANNOT GET THE CONTROLLER TO WORK FOR THOSE GAMES. I WAS ABLE TO FIGURE OUT THE GAMECUBE CONTROLLER SET UP, THEY WERE IN THE PRINTED INSTRUCTIONS. BUT THE PS2 ONE IS NOT. ALSO, HOW THE HECK DO YOU GET THE FRAME RATE INFO OFF THE SCREEN WHILE YOU ARE PLAYING? ITS NOT TOO AWFUL, BUT A BIT ANNOYING. I WENT INTO THE SETTINGS, BUT DID NOT FIND ANYTHING TO REMOVE THAT. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT, THANKS!!
The PS2 controller works in Android Mode. The instructions are also in the manual for that. The trick is to hold the buttons, as instructed, before you turn on the console. Once the buttons blink, turn the console on and the controller is in android mode.
@@HEMSteeel86 Thank you so much, I did figure that out, however the issue I am having is the trigger and bumper buttons are acting like they have turbo turned on. For example, if I hold them down to ready my gun in Resident Evil it goes from the ready position, to down position repeatedly real fast. I don't see turbo option to fix that anywhere. Have you heard of this happening?? ASny help would be awesome. Thanks!
@@MeganMeredith-js7jn I wish I could offer help for that, but I don’t have any advice to give to fix that issue.
@@HEMSteeel86 i got it sorted, you have to press that "home button" 2x to turn off turbo mode.
@@MeganMeredith-js7jn Looks like we helped each other out with how to navigate these controllers. Thanks!
I bought one, but only 12 games are showing up in PS2 section
Can you add your own ROMs to these boxes? Or are you stuck with the ones it comes with?
Manual say's you can swap and add.
Im sure you are busy but I have a question for you. Do you know how to switch discs for PS1 or Saturn games that use multiple discs? I've tried for hours to figure it out on D for the Saturn and have no idea. It's not as simple as just using the eject option and the insert disc option on Retroarch. On PC you basically have to make a playlist by renaming game files. I don't think that's an option here. So its not easy. Especially for someone like me that doesn't have a PC. If you figure it out could you tell me what you did or maybe make a video. Thanks
Does it have Dragon's Lair?
Which button do I press to configure the analog toggle for the ps2? Having trouble figuring it out.
Let me ask you a question bro is it possible to add another hard drive to this for example like the 12 TB one does the hard drive only contain the games would it actually work plug-in play with this system?
that is a good question , like could we get one of the big hard drives and plug it in place of this one , like one that has xbox etc..
With that console I tried loading GameCube games and PS2 games and the games would not load I don't know if I switch the gaming loader in the settings but if anybody could help I appreciate it if you can help with that I appreciate it

If this confused you I'd have no shot setting this up. I do really like the controller. I have a couple of game sir controllers and I enjoy them.
Does anyone know about an enclosure for the hard drive that will fit with the cable this setup uses?
I had nothing but problems with the unit, games freezing, frame rate issues, controller issues. It’s just to frustrating to use, I returned mine two days after owning.
Make video of the freezing and ask for refund 🦾
I got mine last week and one of the biggrst problems i have is input lag. Using the controller suplied or a 3rd party, i still have crazy lag that ruins the whole experience. Did you have this issue and if so could you fix it?
I spoke too soon you mentioned it.
I plug my controllers in to fix this
This thing is excellent. Best collection and performance overall ive seen.
Did you ever look into Batocera with a cheap 69 dell mini pc ? 😅
@WickedGamerCollector Haven't. I'm pretty much computer illiterate. But I love these emulator systems
15:50 the settings was on the top right it might have an option to choose an input device
Let me look into that some more.
Would be fun to make an update video.
Damnnnnn 😂🎉
thats alot of stuff connected to that box does it work without the HDD?
Pretty sure it does just wont be able to access the games on the hdd
Can i adjust the aspect ratio for all these emulators so i can use this on a CRT TV? Thoughts?
This console is pretty good. Mixed performance on the higher end consoles like Wicked spoke on (PS2, GameCube, Wii), but most of the games I wanted to play actually worked pretty good. For the PS2 games, I have them at 2.25 screen resolution and the God of War games, Devil May Cry, NBA & NFL 2K5 work just fine. At 2x resolution, games like Mario Kart Wii, Super Mario Bros Wii, WWE Day of Reckoning 2, and TMNT work good off the Dolphin emulator. Some games run better than others, so you gotta determine if you want to play games that all work under the same settings, or do you want to tweak the settings per game. My preference is the same settings for all games. Also… keep that android remote control because it will come in handy for exiting out of the GameCube and Wii games, in addition to adjusting the volume output on your TV. If y’all need any assistance with how to exit out of the games or getting your game controller to work properly, drop a comment and I’ll help as best as I can!
Are games on ps2 mostly passable or do some games just don’t work?
@@MysticVeil I haven’t tried all the PS3 games. I might’ve tried 40 out of the 600 games in that collection. Of the 40, 30 of them ran great at 2.25 screen resolution.
@@HEMSteeel86 I’m only interested in the ps1 and ps2 libraries. Do you think it’s worth getting for that?
@@MysticVeil For me, yes… it was worth it. However, I suggest you go on the Website and look at the game list to determine that for yourself. At this moment, I’m unsure of how to add a few game roms on there and the games you may want to play might not be on there.

Love your vid bro keep up the good work
I have loved your retro game box vids for a long time. I dabbled into amlogic android boxes from that. At this point though its hard to see the point of these boxes. You can buy an i3 4130t mini pc for 40 to 60 bucks with an hdd and OS included and can play everything up to most of ps2. Thats just a small fractiom of the price of these things or a still ovrrpriced nvidia shield. Id love to see a review of the i3 4130t at some point from you!
the point is portability
