Ppl just don't understand me when I said I would just live with my parents until I got marry. Ppl thought I'm just conservative but no. I love my parents, having young person in the house to help around the house and look out for them is good for them and me, emotionally. And you save a bunch of money. Your parents knew you so compromising for each other is already something we are know. And you always have delicious meals from your mom everyday. I'm glad I have good relationship with my parents. But I do understand some ppl who couldn't stand living with their parents again and this would be an alternative.

This is how it should be. At least, this is how it is in most parts of the world including Europe and Latin America. In the US, we have an individualistic society so most parents push their kids out of the nest even before they are emotionally and economically ready. I think this is one of the main causes of depression, anxiety, and loneliness in many college kids.

This is such a stigma in the US. When I was living with my parents and trying to date when I said I lived at home men acted like I was a loser and some stopped talking to me. They just couldn't understand that I liked living at home.

I mean when parents want you to leave as soon as possible, It's not surprising that people don't have a good relationship with their parents.

I think living with your family works for people that have a great relationship with their family. The sad thing is that everyone is not close with their parents and some parents still try to have control over their adult kids. You are blessed to be in a good situation.

Isn't this just like living with your mom?

Living with parents is different than living with a senior roommate. With a senior roommate, there are no familial relationships but of course, that doesn't mean you can't form friendships with a senior roommate. It is just that there is no parenting involved like you would if you live with parents. Living with parents is great... until it is not. It is great if the parents are not always parenting/babying their adult kids. It is NOT great when the parents ARE babying their adult kids. That is the main issue I see when students/young adults are unhappy living with their parents: the parents are not allowing space for them to grow to be an adult. But there are people who are happy living with their parents or even with grandparents. It is really all about how relationships could work out, living in a shared place.

Why not just live with their parents & save for a house or car & savings for their future.

They may be going to a school not near their parents. Also let’s be honest, teens and parents have always had some issues. Kids will tell others adults things than they would tell this parents.

This is beautiful, if it works that is great, I am sure there are some situations that may reflect what the student has left behind, I really like it.
