I mean, regardless of which camera it is, if the footage didn't look good with an expensive cinema lens, I would start to get worried... You can slap a cinema lens on a tiny M43 sensor and the footage will look good. It's all about the lens.
Love how this R50 is regarded as a "beginner" by Canon and ill-informed camera snobs, yet produces exact results as a pro full frame at less than a third of the cost. I shoot real estate with this R50 and the Nisi 9mm f2.8 RF lens, absolutely phenomenal results! This gem of a camera produces stunning 6k video @30fps, downsampled to 4k. Slow it down in post to 24fps and you have steller cinematic video, best I've seen.
This is work of art! Camera capabilities aside, the shots that you took, the angle, focus, the music.... This a feast for soul. Great work dude! Keep it up!
Beautiful!! We can see how a tool is just a tool if you don't know how to use it, and when you know even a "beginner" camera can became a masterpiece! Amazing bro, loved the colors
This is interesting! I might add the R50 to my R5 as a second camera angle for talking head videos and as a lightweight hiking camera. The 4K looks detailed enough imo.
Bruh... He's using a $25,000 cinema lens from Canon. Of course the footage looks good. Lens does more for image quality than your camera (sensor) does. If you want amazing images or film quality videos, don't drool over camera bodies and different manufacturers, literally just buy ANY camera and invest in a good lens.
I'm having a lot of trouble deciding between the Canon R50 and the Sony ZV-E10. I wanted to know what your thoughts are on which one is better? Just for context I plan on using it to film sketches, stand up comedy, short films, and phone repairs (overhead and over the shoulder shots). I would really appreciate your input and amazing video as always!
@dsi, looks great, couple of questions, what was your picture profile? Apparently you can still enable prolost flat or you could install Eos HD or cinestyle + HDR pq, also did you enable D+ HTP? Let me know. I have HDR PQ on my r6 and it doesn't look this good. I would love to hear back from you. One thing that stands out is that it would seem difficult to match clog 3 as it looks totally different. .....More questions...Is this converted to rec709?
Did you have to convert the HDR footage to "standard" dynamic range for YT upload? If that is the case, how difficult is the conversion (grading?) process? I heard that working with HDR footage is a real hassle when converting for SDR delivery...
I didn’t convert it to any different format, what I did was, just import the HDR-PQ footage to Adobe Premiere Pro. Then grade it from there. And when you export it, just choose standard video export. That way you won’t get the weird HDR color on a non HDR screen. And you still maintain better dynamic range on your overall video 😊
What speed was the video edited at? Looks great! Was it filmed at 4k30fps, and then slowed by 20% to be edited at 25fps? Thanks! Just getting into the photography game for my business.
can anyone explain how you get this dark cinematic shade-like effect into the video. I dont raelly know how to describe it but maybe you got it already. I am new to all this so I'd appreciate any help you can give.
So you actually did use the camera. You did not sit in front of a camera setup in your basement and talk about fatal flaw bla bla bla👌 Thanks for sharing
Thank you very much. Really appreciated it. Yes I’m planning to test out the LUMIX S5II. But right now they all back-ordered. Let see if I can borrow one somewhere 😊
They both great. So it depends what you wanna use it for. Canon is newer, it has 10-Bit color in PQ mode. But less RF-S lens choice. On the other hand, Sony has got heaps of APS-C lenses to choose from. So if you’re thinking to use it for vlogging. Then ZV-E10 might be a better choice. As they have the Sony 10-20mm f/4 E, Sony 11mm f/1.8 E, Sony 15mm f/1.4 E. And also some Sigma wide angle lenses too. But the widest RF-S lens right now is the kit lens 18-45mm, that’s 29-72mm full frame equivalent. But if you don’t do any vlogging. You just want a good all round camera. Then I would say get the R50 😊
@@tuongwall Both of them have no crop shooting in 4K. But just when you enable the electronic image stabilization on both cameras it will have a 1.1x crop. And the active stabilization crops in little bit more. Like 1.2x time. But if you use stabilized lens. Then there will be no crop at all 😊

I want to teach videography and use a good camera... The question is: 1.- Buying a M50 very compact camera in a low price and record quality video with: "Atomos Ninja V" or: 2 .- Forget about the compactness of the M50 and go for a more expensive and newer camera like the R50 camera and not use the "Atomos Ninja V". it is an easy or difficult choice, for a person as experienced as you?
I didn’t use any adapter, it was straight out from the RF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS Lens. It’s the compression after 1.6x crop. It gives you a 320mm look. So the bokeh was creamier 😊
It wasn’t that hard to grade. But surely the color do look a bit different. It looks a bit like “Wide Dynamic Range” picture profile from the Canon Cinema camera.
