I remember seeing an article of a guy catching a 4 foot northern pike up there. Imagine the fight that thing put up!! Also---it's good to see mepps spinners are still around. I'm old as hell and used to fish with them as a kid---good to see the classics live on. Such a simple, basic lure---but works almost every time!
ayy!!! wehave pike here to!! finally sopmething we relate on these fish are extremly fun and they get huge! biggests one ive caught was 41 inches ice fishing for perch!
Haha yes!! I remember like 9 months ago or something we talked about pike down here. I finally got around to it 😂😂 41 inches is insane! Perch is on my list still. Thanks for watching beother 🤙
Fished both Upper and Lower Lake Mary in late 60's and early 70's with my Dad. We used top water lures because of all the grass and moss in the lakes. Did real well with them. Try it next time ya'll are up there.
Thanks man! Mark caught one that was probably 4 pounds or so, the upper Lake definitely has more big ones but it’s harder to get a bite. The lower had tons of small ones and the occasional big one, my biggest was just about a pound. Thank you for watching!
I guessed correctly. I know northern pike are invasive down there and heard natural resources actually pays people to harvest them in the pacific northwest. I live in Central Canada, so those are top 3 most plentiful game fish here. Only fish more numerous here where I live, are also invasive (smallmouth bass). Northern pike are native here so it's funny seeing someone get excited catching one. But at the same time I would get excited catching a carp or bluegill because we don't have those fish.
That’s awesome haha. I have a video on here where I took my buddy from canida and got him on 7 new species in one day it was sick. Thanks for watching!
44 Species Da Da DAMN!! Congrats man! I hear taking a good Wif of 91 Percent Isopropyl Alcohol calms those altitude sickness.. Probably a latino thing if you ask me... I barely got 5 species haha
Haha hey I don’t look it but I’m Latino too. My moms from Argentina and her parents are form Argentina and Uruguay. 46 species now about to be 47 any day now! I’m also going to Mexico in a couple days so I could possibly hit 50 soon. Lots of work but it’s a ton of fun. Thanks for watching man!
Why do they kill the little pikes? To protect the trouts? I mean those northern pikes can grow realy big and put up a big fight. As I said under the last video I did a lot of Zander fishing this week and actually it was great😁 I caught myself 8 Zander in 3 days.🎣 Im excited to see wat is your next video about. Greetings from germany💪🏻
Yep people want the trout and other species to thrive but the pike kind of get in the way, so they kill them. It’s never going to put a dent in the population though haha. That’s awesome man! I’m happy to hear you’ve been having some good luck. Thank you for watching!
tip for catching bigger pike is use soft plastics like shads with jigheads those work for me i catch 90cm pike my biggest is 120cm also use collored soft plastic shads they work the best (for me) also cuz here in my country its not hard but not easy catching a pike cuz we need a whole like unhooking scissor
The one lake I recommend not fishing is Mancel Carter oasis in Queen Creek Because I went fishing there this morning, 3 to 4 hours of nothing but stupid little bluegill that are not even big enough to make a sandwich out of don’t go fishing there it is a waste of time.
Yeah not a huge fan of Mansel Carter but I did catch my first yellow bullhead from there. Hey at least you didn’t skunk! And today was a gorgeous day to be out so no matter what at least you had that 🙏
I love pike we actively fish for them here in the uk problem is we get people who eat and take ilegally and some match anglers who kill them and throw them on the bank which is ilegal as they dont think they belong in our waters when there native and been water in our waters for 1000 years they have more right to hunt in the water then us fishing and they balence the eco system just saying
They’re cool little fish, they might get in the way of other species thriving here but game and fish doesn’t require they be kept or killed and so I definitely won’t be killing them when I won’t be eating them. Thank you for watching!
I fished this Lake alot when i lived in flagstaff. The "BEST" way i like to fish is with a clear bobber that you can fill half with water and a 4ft leader with a wet fly at the end. Cast out and reel in slow. Then bam! FISH ON! trout time.
Fish on the other side by the road. As I remember it is deeper over there. Might jig for crappie also. We used to tear them up. 1.25 to 2lb slabs. I've caught some 3-4 lbers also. I miss that place. Lots of us use to fish there. Most friends are gone now. Thanks for the video. It brought back memories
Dude... Lipping a pike?!?! You're the man!!! Lol 😂
😂😂 gotta keep it interesting 🔥 thanks for watching!
Nice job on the northern pike buddy, but you wouldn't lip the ones I have up here, lol.
😂😂 heck no those big pike would rip me up. Thank you Sean! I really wanted to try the spoon you gave me but I can’t remember where I put it 😢
Haha I am sure you have had pike draw blood Sean, I know it happens to me every year.

Oh heck yeah I bet that would be awesome. I’ve never had an artificial top water bite before either so that would be sick. Thanks for watching!

This channel deservers to blow up -- You're and incredible angler bro

Thanks man I appreciate you!! 🔥
Nice PB trout dude! Are most the pike around that size or do they have some monsters in there?
Thanks man! Mark caught one that was probably 4 pounds or so, the upper Lake definitely has more big ones but it’s harder to get a bite. The lower had tons of small ones and the occasional big one, my biggest was just about a pound. Thank you for watching!

Yessir!! 🔥
Sweet! 🎉
Thank you!!
I just recently caught a 3ft 10 to 12 pound here in northern IA. Absolutely fun fish to catch, wonder why people want them dead..
Heck yeah that’s HUGE! I get they make it tough for other fish to thrive, but honestly they’re so fun to catch.
Hell yeah. That’s my next stop 💪🏽😤
Good luck 🔥🔥 thank you for watching!
What a great day of fishing at Desert Breeze Park!!!
