Wowser this is way faster than what I was reading on google using slow ice cube method. Ingenious. Thank You
Wow - I was skeptical but that worked like a charm!! Thank you for posting this!!
As soon as I heard the “filthy rich” comment, I knew I was about to get a high-speed; low-drag; hip-pocket class. Fantastic period of instruction!
👍👍👍
Really easy - worked perfectly on my cream wool carpet that has had 2 sharp steel legs on it for 12 years which made indentations I never thought I could get rid of! Thank you very much.
Worked brilliantly, so pleased with the results. Thank you
Absolutely awesome! Have always wanted to know how to get rid of these! Thank you!
We just removed dents that have been in the carpet for years!!! The steam iron worked beautifully!!! Thank you!!!
Excellent video!
Exactly the same method for getting dents out of solid wood tables/chairs etc
Thanks Bill 👍
Just moved a bed and had horribly deep dents in the carpet, this sorted them out in no time! Thanks so much, super hack!
Awesome tip!!! I just did this and works 100%. Thanks, mate!
Thanks very much. I had sofa dents, taken care of thanks to you 👍
I was a little leery about this technique working for my carpet. I have a very low pile carpet and had a piece of furniture sitting in one spot for several years. It felt to me like the padding underneath the carpet was completely flattened. After removing the furniture, the flat spots were still there 6 months later. It took me all of about 2 minutes to get rid of the flat spots using this method. Thanks a bunch!
You are very welcome. I only post videos to help people 👍

👍
WOW! How easy was that :) Thank you!
This worked really well for some deep dents so thank you. I did go too long on the first one though and melted my cheap carpet a bit so be careful folks and be aware you might not get it 100% of the way so know when to stop. And keep your towel damp.
If you have a synthetic/cheap carpet and don't want to risk burning it, turn the iron down. The hottest setting is for linen and cotton, synthetic is a lower temperature - I usually go a bit higher than the actual synthetic setting, roughly halfway (or where the steam marker starts) is a good place to start if you've got a towel over the material/carpet. Better to start a bit lower and turn it up hotter if you need to. You can't unmelt synthetics so better safe than sorry. Also some irons have a "spray" button that works like a little spray bottle if you need to wet the towel a bit more, and you can adjust the steam output as well.
If you never get the iron out much, the various settings don't seem that important (and/or too much effort) but it does make a difference when you need them. Especially with synthetic materials. I remember my first shirt that instantly melted to the iron before I knew that could even happen (I was a kid)
BTW this method of ironing is calling "pressing" - used a lot in sewing to set seams. And for ironing fiddly stuff
"If you're filthy rich then you don't need to worry about the dent, just replace the whole carpet"
🤣
Loved that comment!!
Or better yet just buy a whole new house.
Lmfaooo right. He had me from there he’s hilarious 😂
Thank you so much!
This works so well, I couldn't believe it! Thanks for sharing
👍
How do u know all these things, Bill?! Bloody legend. Keep em coming.
I was doing it with just the cloth and the steam iron and it wasn't really working, the trick is you have to rub it after
when it's still damp and hot, then the mark disappears...and I did it on a berber rug which is a little harder because the pile is so stiff.
Very good! Thanks!
thanks bill , nice tip!
Works so good!
Thank you!
Tried this works well x
That worked-so easy!
I just tried this trick and it worked perfectly, thanks Bill.

@@billshowto It also worked so easily. You'd never know there were marks there! Wonderful! Do you have any tips for getting candle wax off a silk rug?

You’re welcome 👍
Very good... information
Very nice information video
"Give it one more hit" my guy 🙌
Hey mate, awesome vid. Do you have any videos on how to fluff up large areas of flattened carpet. The areas where people walk everyday are making an ugly path in my less than a year old carpet. Thanks.
Brilliant, quick and easy. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us, Bill.
Thanks! This works so well, the dent is gone, but it left a slight water mark on the carpet, anyone know how to fix that?
Life saver!
Carpet saver?
i don’t even know how to use my steam roller/iron but hey it’s worth a shot
Works great! My tenant left deep furniture marks in the carpet. He also left a few stains. I didn't want to rent a steam cleaner, so I used your technique on the stains, spraying first with a carpet cleaner. It did the trick. Now all I have to do is figure out how to repair all the other problems he left behind.
it works!
Awesome, that's a good Iron, what brand and model number is that?
Would this work for smoothing out a bump in carpet? If not, do you have any recommendations for how to do so without having to restretch the carpet?
Awesome.
How to clean wallpaper?
Thanks that worked Great
👍
Hi Bill, will this work on synthetic, closed loop pile carpet? I'm a bit nervous because I dropped an iron on it a while ago and melted it. Thanks Bill
lol that was easy, I always thought they were permanent😑
Same, I was horrified because my chair left some really bad ones in my room.
Neat, any issues if the carpet is mostly wool? (90%)
hmm not filthy rich but I actually just moved and do not own an iron. but i DO own a steam mop! Going to see if i can achieve the same result
Any tips if carpet is lose from a office chair rolling backwards and forward on it for too long? Thank you
I can confirm, after taking delivery of a new sofa, that this works 100%. Big marks returned to shape, no problems.
Hi, I liked the video, but my carpet problem is that i get lumps on carpet which is laid in family room and in traffic area. It gets puffs in multiple places. This is not typical wall to wall installed carpet but decorative carpet which is in this case laid on wall to wall carpet, any tricks?
Would it work for bigger and longer dents but same deepness ?
Great vid mate.. Any idea how to change the rollers on the bottom of a big glass sliding door?
