When I was a kid, I asked my mom for a Hall and Oates tape for my birthday. Expecting Private Eyes or H2O or something she bought me War Babies. I was like what the hell is this? But that album proceeded to blow my mind for my entire childhood. My older brother explained to me Todd Rundgren's involvement. To this day, War Babies is one of my favorite albums of all time by any artist. Hall's thoughtful songs with Rundgren's soaring sound shaping. What a great collection of music!
Thanks soooo much for sharing this video!!! I'm a HUGE Hall & Oates fan and have always been looking for the additional footage from the Musikladen era...ooooh to be able to be there!!!! At least I can see these tremendously talented guys on UA-cam. Love the line-up now, but geez, this is magical....You guys have and always will rock my world!!!! Cheers!!!
anyone looking for War Babies cd can find it on ebay and on amazon. i love this song. they performed this on their Hall & Oates Live DVD 1976-1977. i love that dvd. if you haven't seen it you are missing a good show!

I simply love Hall & Oates, they're perfect!!!!
First saw H&O play this on their UK tour in 1976 - still one of the best Todd Rundgren inspired songs.

It's now Oct. 11, 2007, HAPPY 61st BIRTHDAY DARYL!!!
Ahhh, war babies, I've got the Album, it's my favorite song. Todd Rundgren was producer.
I totally Agree...Todd has a heavy hand in production, but it was just what they needed...the WAR BABIES album is incredible throughout!
Still great❤❤❤🔥🔥🔥
@Hokdonfonix I believe the whole Musikladen show is on DVD now!
i picked up a copy of war babies from a box of 10p records in some clothes shop (?!?!?!?)
brilliant album
What kind of keyboard is on top of Daryl's electric piano?
You could be dreaming..... Can't you see it's me....
Is it me all broken down inside?
You could be dreaming.....
miserable recording
Not the best, but in 2007, it was better than NO recording.
