No one should trust anyone to change their oil. Oil is your car's life blood. Dealerships and many quick change places use the cheapest oils they can find. Yes not all dealers use OEM oil. Even their premium full synthetic may or may not be of good quality. Want your car to last forever? Buy genuine OEM oil and change it yourself every 3,000 miles. Also don't forget about the transmission. Ignore all the manufacturer recommendations, change ATF once a year.
It isn't just this, in a lot of areas people just don't care anymore. They're there just to put in their hours and go home, no sense of personal honor of doing a good job.
You can't trust them. I have gone back to doing 99% of all my own maintenance. That way, I know it is done correctly. This is hardly a mistake that any shop could learn from. Lmfao and if the “point” is against small shops , well, most smaller shops in my city also flip cars to auction. They rebuild engines. Just to be safe, I'd check to make sure that dipstick didn't blow out due to a head gasket or blowby issue...
@@kevbush it's just the bad maintenance
Unreal. I usually do all of my own maintenance, but hard to beat a free oil change with synthetic.
Wah wah wah
No one should trust anyone to change their oil. Oil is your car's life blood. Dealerships and many quick change places use the cheapest oils they can find. Yes not all dealers use OEM oil. Even their premium full synthetic may or may not be of good quality. Want your car to last forever? Buy genuine OEM oil and change it yourself every 3,000 miles. Also don't forget about the transmission. Ignore all the manufacturer recommendations, change ATF once a year.
Your problems don’t seem like problems
Ok not problems. Leave your oil dipstick sticking out then. Leave trash in your engine bay.
Not just them. We are all human we muss things or forget. Is why we should kniw about what we own and how it works.
It isn't just this, in a lot of areas people just don't care anymore. They're there just to put in their hours and go home, no sense of personal honor of doing a good job.
@@Mr_RD-1876 truth

You can't trust them. I have gone back to doing 99% of all my own maintenance. That way, I know it is done correctly. I had a Mazda dealership service the transmission in one of my cars some time back. I recently did a transmission service on it myself just the other day, and discovered they used the WRONG ATF!!! What came out of it was red, but it should have been blue. It pisses me off that you can't even trust the stealership to use the correct fluids recommended by the manufacturer.
@@ctvxl I get you 100%
The biggest issue with dealer oil changes is they use the cheapest oil filters. I went in for one and only one after I saw the filter thry used. Looked like literal cardboard in there.

Why is the dealership using oil from a container? A professional legitimate dealership would have an oil service delivery and a pump.
Good point. No idea.
Some times we mechanics do that since we have pumps and barrel for the most common oils like 10w40 and 5w30 but we buy less quantity of uncommon types lke 0w20 wich they deliver us in cartons of jugs

This is hardly a mistake that any shop could learn from. Lmfao and if the “point” is against small shops , well, most smaller shops in my city also flip cars to auction. They rebuild engines. They also only work on cars that they know where everything is UNDER THE HOOD. They do exactly what the dealers do except often charge less per house FYI.
