At some point there will just be one big endless train on each of the tracks with no break in between. On the passenger loop it'll probably happen when you add the third train to the mix.. 😅
@@micabryant4513I think that depends on the reliability of the connection. Thank you for these instructions! I've used them to convert both ends of my 60197 as I use a 9v motor and without a battery box there's no need for a big engine room above floor level.
Really like the cab to passenger car mod! That makes a lot of sense to me and brings it more in line with the white train design! The way that they raced each other on the track makes me think that maybe the white one's design is just a bit more aerodynamic and leads it to gain a bit more speed, especially as it gets closer to the other one by drafting (just like race cars do!) and hence why you have to adjust frequently lol I do want to see a derailment, but at the same time I feel like it could be soooo messy in your city!

I have an idea so you don’t have to have 2 trains running on the same track! You could have a separate track running around your fair ground and farm! I would probably cost a lot of money since you ballast all your track but it would look very cool. Also you could have a station at your fair ground and a few smaller stations dotted around the rest of the track! I think it would look awesome! Great video! 👍👍👍😁
There is just no need for a pantograph on a control car. Very creative, perfect and rational build btw! What i would really like is to see a OBB railjet type of train in lego!

You might also like another video I did for the white train, with two long based mods that are equally doable on the 60197 train. You just need to change the colours over!
I agree. But the easy solution is to remove those pantographs (the bits on the roofs that are meant to make contact with overhead wires) from the engines. Since these sets were designed to look like pantograph trains using overhead wiring for power, those double decker cars are way out of place for such a train. Driving van trailer
That's a mouthful. I think I have to use a term that most people around the world, of all ages, will understand. Good fact though!
Will you buy the new modular? I will!
Yep. Definitely!
Love the modifications to the train, simple and effective.
Yes, I thought so. It's a very clean solution this one, and it uses a modest number of bricks!
It is hard to change the Passenger Train from Powered Up to Power Functions for the fact that you have to get more space for the addition of the IR-Receiver and you can’t use the same train motor.
Yes but the space for the IR receiver is already there so it's very easy. You do need a PF motor too!
How did you build the custom bogie? the non-motor version.
See the official instructions, online, for either 60098 or 60051's cab car. It's just train wheels on a technic brick setup. Enjoy!
@@RobinHoodBricks I see, so I was using a modified version of the non-motor bogie from 60198, but it doesn’t have the nice rounded suspension :(
I am busy with changing the second engine car into a passender car as well but what did you do with the bogey (wheels) or di you leave the motor in?
You replace the second motor with a dummy one. See the instructions for the cab car in set 60051 for how to build one. Enjoy!
You said that a lot of these are loosely based of of ICEs, well the red passenger train seems to be loosely based off of these Copenhagen trains.
Good to know!
the first car right next to the engine car doesn’t need a gangway to the engine like the intercity class 91 and then add a second cab at the back end of the engine car like the class 91
I like it!
Woop woop!
