Now the explanation you just gave was perfect 😊😊
Hi Wilson. I just wanted to say I really enjoy your channel, it always brings me peace. Happy smoking brother
Thank you Chris! That means a lot
Something I love about your reviews is comparison blends at the end, even though I didn't agree with them pertaining salty dogs.
I'm very happy to know you will be cranking out more reviews, because I love your reviews.
I'm not telling you what to do, but I think it would be helpful to explain all those factors on whatever tobacco you're reviewing, or even add up the points in each category to reach your final review so folks know why a blend is getting dinged or so they can base their opinion based on the criteria cared about.
Anyway, thanks a lot for the great content.
Good input. I appreciate it!
Holy cow I’m a C&D fanboy.
Their cake tobaccos are all so good.
I’ve recently had
Briar Fox
RedBurn
Pirate Kake
Night Train
Bow Legged Bear
All were unique, tasty, well burning and cool smoking.
They got a few more cakes for me to try and the new Haunted Bookshop cakes got me excited!!!! Haunted Bookshop is great stuff
All perfectly valid criteria. I love plugs/ropes/flakes, so prep isn’t an issue for me. I rate almost entirely on taste, with a small bump if I can at least get it in half or full lb amounts to reduce cost. Room note gets rated separately…by my wife.😂
All of those are good factors, which relate together. Better taste, for instance, could make up for stinkiness. For me.
Thank you for explaining your method of rating Tobacco. Sounds like you’ve given it a lot of thought and it does seem like a reasonable method.
Love the honesty - thanks Wilson 👍
Good Morning Pastor 😊 Thanks for sharing your criteria 👏🏼👏🏼 Awesome information👌🏽 Have a blessed day & God Bless You 🙏🏽 Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Great video, as always, Wilson. Thank you for your openness and the thought you give to each review. It's much appreciated.
Ps. I see by the books behind you that you're a Tolkien fan. Would you ever consider doing a review of Capstan Blue; purportedly his favorite pipe tobacco?
For me, one criteria I judge by is tin note. For example: I have a new tin of SPC Muddy River. I cracked it and it smells like vinegar, mustard, and ketchup. I will never pack any of my pipes with that blend. It's gonna end up sitting in my tobacco cellar until I find someone to give it to or sell it to.
What a coincidence that you found someone that will take it ✋
I Loooove Haunted Bookshop. lol. My favorite blend by far.
I just recently bought a pound of haunted bookshop. Interesting how people's tastes differ.
what did you think?
@@redrun9467I like hunted book shop! I think the tin note is a light raisin smell. I also think it has a pleasantly mild sweetness when smoked.
Great video. Good to know what is being taken into account when giving a review.
I have that same book stand. Absolutely a game changer.
Where you get it?
@@GeorgeZimmermen I think it just a $14 dollar "no-name" brand from Amazon.
This is an aside to the content of the video, but I have found that I actually like Largo gold - the cost is certainly a factor in my enjoyment but for what it is, I reckon it tastes just fine
#6 smokability- tongue bite, burn rate, moisture, etc
In my mind that was rolled into experience but didn't elaborate on it enough
@@TheSpurgeonPiper You're right, you did cover it, my bad. I must have glossed over it. I do enjoy you vids. Thanks!
@@David-wy9jl no need for an apology! I could have gone farther in depth.
Thank you for the kind remarks!
I've got two burley heavy blends and as i smoke them I get a very sour taste. Don't know if I'm doing something wrong or what but I'm pretty disappointed, I've heard much better of burley
The cost for me really isn't a big deal anymore and here is why. I recently did a time test of sorts, I smoke EMP, Nightcap, and Blackhouse from 50 gram tins. Now the pipe I smoke it in hold about 3 grams and is about a 50 minute smoke, which means a tin gives me about 16 smokes ,which comes out to be about 800 minutes. Now I'm also a cigarette smoker, and 800 minutes of cigarettes translates to a carton of cigarettes, which my brand is about $75 a carton vs a $15 tin of pipe tobacco. Now I know comparing the two is like comparing apples to oranges, but for me it does make the price more reasonable. But that's just me.
My number one is whether the tobacco itself interacts in a negative way with the chemistry in my mouth…
Cost is totally relevant.
