Im a 45 year old retired raver. How good is this set. I’ve got the 3 kids, 2 dogs, big washing machine... but today I was back. I had this blaring it the kitchen as I cooked the Sunday lunch. Some weird look from the kids as I knecked a bottle of wine and was screaming here we go..... First seen Carl Cox at fantazia years ago and have seen him all the way through then90’s in Ibiza . Love the big man so many good memories. Long may he continue to bang out sets like this.
You know what matters 😎🙌🏻🎉💚 Fatboy Slim’s set is pretty epic too on the i360 Brighton .. some stonkin choons in there Also you aint retired just on pause until you’re invited to the next rave 😘
The great thing about Carl is that he is for everyone. He doesn't have a whole lot of divisive opinions, he doesn't have petty feuds with other DJs or complain that the 'young guys are taking over'. He just plays great sets and lets the music do the talking.

This reminds me of the time I saw Carl Cox spin at a club in Pittsburgh. At around 10pm he gets on the stage and after 2am and the bar had shut down this dude is still spinning records. At 4am he's still going and I'm wondering how I'm gonna get any sleep before work that morning. I FINALLY left the club around 7am and I had to go STRAIGHT into work all covered in sweat wearing a shiny club shirt looking like I just stumbled in from a rave, because I had. When I left the club Carl had 3 turntables going at once and was waving another record in the air so the 10 to 20 people left in the room could keep on going. I never saw anything like that at this club before or since.
He's a cousin maternal isn't that cool? and the French Castle is the best idea and check out the drone footage of the castle, it was created in the shape of a cross. It's so fascinating to have the drive and Carl is older than me but he's still going and his energy levels are great! I'm glad you got to meet him. I may have if he was in the midwest in the early 90s but did meet Paul Oakenfold and Tiesto. When I moved back to America, from The Netherlands, most of what I'm hearing people play is rock-and-roll or gangster rap. The reason why I loved The Netherlands so much was because they knew how to appreciate music like this. They knew why this music was so powerful.
Yeah the venues in America just don’t compare. My best option is ultra in Miami which id love to go see but the acts are just dog shit. Sure a few good ones are dropped in here and there but there are very few actual full sets that someone put thought and effort to
My only criticism is that Carl's microphone should be audible, live sound alongside internal recording would be awesome. Want to hear that "Oh yes, oh yes!" haha. Incredible set
In my top 5 of recorded or live DJ mixes I've ever heard, and at 54, I've listened to a lot. My wild guess is that the energy here was positively insane.
Saw him at Mother Raves in JHB and CT South Africa in the early 2000's. Dude is incredible. Will always be the godfather to me. His crowd control was massive. His choice of music has changed, but he is till the same dude. Magnificent.
I confirm it was an incredibly positive crazyness all over the night… i made plenty of pure parties, including 4 Cercle events but this one was a total blast !
Saw Carl Cox first time in 1999 in NYC warming up for Underworld at Hammerstein ballroom, then in 2000 at Twilo for Ultimate BASE, in a small Dj booth before they move it up. He was all energy and grooving to each track. Both times the sets were impeccable. He is truly a great DJ. Non stop 2000 is my fave compilation. Thank you for the music.
sincere thank you to cercle for not putting ads in these sets. Its the only thing that makes me feel like I'm actually there...especially during quarantine. much love
When I watched it, the set qas full of ads. But I learned a new trick recently. Forward to the last seconds of the video, let it run out. Then click the "watch again" or "repeat" button...and all ads are gone. Works always;)
SO GOOD! Close my eyes and I'm back in the basement of club Nighttown in Rotterdam where he used to perform so many times in the 90s and 00s. Still the same enthusiasm and skills as always, never get too old for this :-)
This set is culture. He quoted Kraftwerk, Jam & Spoon, and a few shots of pure acid house and a homage to old school house. Also, he used a track that I found an loved only 2 years later.
It's so interesting. I know Carl since the 90s and I am not always fan of the music he playes, but he always fascinates me with his performance skills. Love that and his way of transitions. One of, if not the best DJs of all time..
My very very first Techno album was The Sound of Ultimate BASE mixed by Carl Cox. Everything I base techno on is because of this dude. I grew old and whatever, but every decade Carl Cox is still pushing it. Lifetime award for being fucking awesome.
Wow...that is an awesome location for a Carl Cox set. You don't need those huge stages, lights and pyro effects if you have great music and a DJ like him.
Insane setting and photography for the legend. I first saw Carl Cox (and Jeff Mills) live in 1998, and amazingly he doesn't look much older than back then. But when you think about it, this is actually a pretty small croud. They should have invited me.
Saw Carl at Area One tour on Long Island back in 2001. Oakenfold, Moby, Outkast, et al were there. Carl was the highlight of that for me. Such a beast.
CARL COX: a lesson in how to be an DJ, how to be an artist and how to be a Human Being 🌎 I wish to you a lot of Health to be eternal, BigBoss 🎼🎶🎵〽🎹🎧 Greetings from Ukraine.
Excellent mix as always by Carl Cox. Track selection A+, Mixing A+, Stage Presence A+. If there is a king of Spinning House & Techno it's without a doubt Carl Cox in my eyes.
I can not believe I am just discovering Carl Cox. This is some amazing BEATS WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The view is amazing wish I was there like WOW.
This is one of those parties where James Bond is following the bad guy through the crowd getting distracted by the music and ends up fighting the dude inside the massive castle building..
Me neither!!! Greetings from Brazil, Belo Horizonte!!! Londoner from my soul!! 5 years in London!!! Missing his sets in London, when I use to have better knees and less belly!!!
Oh WOW reeeeeally enjoyed watching and listening to this , was great to imagine my self there especially as I'm house bound at the moment so lol cant even walk let alone dance which I love to do yaaay , WHAT a VENUE ! ;D I have such a soft spot for the the spirited French ;D))) , how generous their gift to Carl and he is one sweet humble man as I thought he would be , very lovely : ) THAAAANK YOU !!!

Same
House music will never get old. Every time I listen to good house I feel young. Pushing 45 and still a house junkie ❤️✌️☺️
DJ Carl Cox Earned his Pay, He worked every Knob on that Mixer and Deck. Amazing, Like a Mad Scientist😂😂😂
Incredible. The set was obviously amazing but the transformation of the castle after the sun set was magical!
Life goal = attend a Cercle event!!
Straight up though, they literally throw the sickest events. I wish we had companies like Cercle here in the US.
US is not very party-friendly... party at the white house? Lincoln steps? Airport? Congressional library? Ha...
Yeah I see what you mean but it doesn't have to be in front of a landmark for a company like them to throw a sick event. I do agree with you though, that the locations do make the events particularly unique and amazing. I just appreciate the music they bring, and the atmosphere of the events they throw

Music doesnt lie
I'm 61 and still like my 80s music but Carl's stuff is #1 it
has taken me over I listen to it most everyday.
1:19:19 listen to his subtle overlay to the fact that “you’re losing your mind”. I’m 61 and spun vinyl from age 17 - 55 for good money and this gentle man was a hero and clearly will remain so for many years to come....

This Cercle thing is SICK! I’m glad to see these old school DJs and ravers still fired up! I’m 44 going on 24 forever !

I was listening to a Carl Cox mix this morning on the way to work. His mixing skills are perfect. The best DJ of my era without a doubt.

One of the best videos I've ever seen.
And Carl Cox was born to this, he's music itself, it flows out from his body.
Totally agree. There are a few people like that - the music just flows from them. The rest of us are left to observe and enjoy.
My only criticism is that Carl's microphone should be audible, live sound alongside internal recording would be awesome. Want to hear that "Oh yes, oh yes!" haha. Incredible set
He did that at Glitch Festival this summer, first time hearing him in the flesh and he blew me away.
Thats trash why a dj should talk on the mic??
@tode vole thats cringe ur 12
agree re the mic.
@@znshajbs Then you get girls with "ohyes ohyes-tekstbaloons" dancing behind him
In my top 5 of recorded or live DJ mixes I've ever heard, and at 54, I've listened to a lot. My wild guess is that the energy here was positively insane.
Name the others in your mix, please!
I keep coming back 100% one of the best few days you could ever want
sincere thank you to cercle for not putting ads in these sets. Its the only thing that makes me feel like I'm actually there...especially during quarantine. much love
Imagine 2 Lsd.. fuck.. in this place they happened amazing Raves
Respect, bless
When I watched it, the set qas full of ads.
But I learned a new trick recently.
Forward to the last seconds of the video, let it run out. Then click the "watch again" or "repeat" button...and all ads are gone. Works always;)
Jah Bless!
@@jan_777 super cool. will try that next time! I didn't have any ads in this set. but good to know for future. thx :)

Carol Cox a keeper all time classic. Adapt or die. You are a Warrior in the music world. Thank you. I love you💓✊☝️
1:01:30 - one of the best drops ever! I love how Carl also regularly turns around to cheer on all the people who are behind him.

cetait une soiré inoubliable!!!!
He is my

With him at
Dorian Gray Frankfurt Airport 1994.
I never forget the nicest Sunday mornings in my life.
Thx so much Carl !
Life is better with techno!
Mr. Carl Cox at Chambord is PERFECT!
haha. life is impossible without techno :)
read his t shirt, he is also a lover of house and his sets are always a mixture both. thats why everyone likes him
SO GOOD! Close my eyes and I'm back in the basement of club Nighttown in Rotterdam where he used to perform so many times in the 90s and 00s. Still the same enthusiasm and skills as always, never get too old for this :-)
The castle finally reached its maximum potential with Carl Cox and the Thousand ravers.
Carl Cox - A living legend. Namaste.
I feel exact same way.

55 in a few days.. Still listening to and moving to.. the Master, Carl Cox.
Carl Cox is a proper DJ. Doesn't just stick to one genre and just his own tunes. Plays to the crowd!
My very very first Techno album was The Sound of Ultimate BASE mixed by Carl Cox. Everything I base techno on is because of this dude. I grew old and whatever, but every decade Carl Cox is still pushing it. Lifetime award for being fucking awesome.
Yup 🤯
Had the same album early on in my listening career and loved it . Great to see Carl still smashing it after all this time !
25:19 I love how he takes out his phone and takes some time to capture this special moment for himself, he deserves it!
Carl Cox has the best tracks in his sets every time 💪. Amazing DJ.
Bald man
Wow...that is an awesome location for a Carl Cox set. You don't need those huge stages, lights and pyro effects if you have great music and a DJ like him.
True !
A true British gent. Your appreciation of the crowd and the gifts was authentic just like the tunes. Epic set -oh yes oh yes
Oh Yes, Oh Yessssss!
Legend dj and whenever he's interviewed you can tell he's also such a nice genuine guy. 👍
This place is so beautiful it doesn't same real. Same with the music. I've always liked Carl Cox, now I love him!
What a piece of art this is. An expertly woven tapestry of building crescendos, befitting of the backdrop.
The most amazing region in France- the iconic Loire valley , wish this gig was on when we visited it few years ago 😍 soooooo awesome
!
You can forward to any point in the video and it will be fantastic
exactly!!
Fantastic fantastic!
True story ! 😀
Indeed!!!!!
Genio! 😎😍 Gracias por tu MÚSICA!
Hey DJs, stop turning fake dials and enjoy the music as much as Carl does.
The man doesn't lie and has as much fun as his crowd.
Carl always looks like he's having a good time when he's mixing up a set.
📀💻🧮👑💜🤍🖤
je suis un verpium.🐧🍸
Carl Cox is delivering uncompromised techno for decades. A true hero.
Insane setting and photography for the legend. I first saw Carl Cox (and Jeff Mills) live in 1998, and amazingly he doesn't look much older than back then. But when you think about it, this is actually a pretty small croud. They should have invited me.

Absolute class. My favorite dj of our time. I’ll never miss Carl cox even as an old man I still go to his shows.

WOW I love techno so much and hearing of this song and this DJ for the first time makes me love Techno even more!!!!!!!!!! Shout out from NZ 🇳🇿
Saw Carl at Area One tour on Long Island back in 2001. Oakenfold, Moby, Outkast, et al were there. Carl was the highlight of that for me. Such a beast.
Saw that tour. Moby fest it was called here in Toronto. Okenfold, Orb,Kevin Saunderson,Ritchie Hawtin, and Carl Cox Rocked!
The big man is a "national treasure" for sure 😍

Does Carl Cox have grandkids? B/C can you imagine having Carl Cox as your granpa? Also OMG that place is beautiful.
Cox must have played hundreds of amazing gigs like this. Over the last 30 years or however long he has been djing now.
Ive listened to many many ccox sets and this one absolutely blows my mind
Living legend. Simply, whatever he mix or play , sounds 100x times better than it is original :3

Excellent mix as always by Carl Cox. Track selection A+, Mixing A+, Stage Presence A+. If there is a king of Spinning House & Techno it's without a doubt Carl Cox in my eyes.
When it starts getting dark outside, so does the music 🖤🖤🖤
I can not believe I am just discovering Carl Cox. This is some amazing BEATS WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The view is amazing wish I was there like WOW.
This is one of those parties where James Bond is following the bad guy through the crowd getting distracted by the music and ends up fighting the dude inside the massive castle building..
Justin Bielak lmao 😂 meanwhile everyones partying it up outside
wow you just described john wick pt 2
edit : w/o the same genre ofc
and then he finds a good looking women outside, who happens to work for the bad guy
😂😂❤️❤️✌🏼👏🏼
