I love your video, because you showed all mistakes and difficulties in mod. Unlike other video, showing only perfect process, so the newbies get struck when they encounter all sorts of problem
Thank you for this vid - I particularly appreciate you showing the parts of the process that might cause delays or issues. That's realistic for those of us considering trying these mods. Watching someone who's done a lot of these is fun too, but it almost makes it look too easy.
Absolutely gorgeous! The new bezel is spot on! I was thinking the same thing about getting another SKX, mod it and have an original one aswell. Good job! You earned my subscription.
So much better than the original. I have mentioned it before, but you have excellent taste. I think you should design special editions for Seiko. People would buy them. I would.
Wow. Well worth it, what a difference. The SKX is my favorite watch and probably for alot of people. I was going to say worth buying a second SKX but you mentioned that. Good job well done.
I know I'm couple years later but I remove the bezel with a copper tool I made from copper pipe. Just hammer one end flat and sharpen with fine sandpaper, will never scratch stainless steel cause it's way softer metal. Also better that those metal tools sold on ebay. Anyways, hope this helps and I really enjoy watching your videos.

tom Hughes lol price to value the Seiko wins. It’s actually ISO rated. Whenever you open the case back or replace the crystal you have to pressure test it. Plus why is she wearing a watch in the bath tub? And I have both Ocean One ceramic and Seiko SKX. I wear the SKX more. At least the SKX is unique, not just another Submariner homage.
Well done!luv ur videos..i know the feeling especially when you are doing things for the 1st time after watching bunch of videos on how to do it..im thrilled everytime i watch lol...
Hey Curt, looks great! A couple things. First, is there a crystal gasket? And second, when you're reinserting the crown/stem, you do not need to depress the stem lock lever in the movement. It should be able to be pushed in. I think you're choice of bezel, insert and crystal is spot-on.
That is a really sharp looking watch. You have great taste. I think the bezel change really made the difference. I want to do the double domed sapphire on mine but would like to find a 'Pepsi' colored ceramic bezel insert.
Hey man, nicely done! Just wondering, what is the height/thickness of the case now with this new bezel? Maybe 1mm less than stock? I've always had an issue with the thickness of SKXs
Great videos: I am new to watch collecting, I bought a seiko SNK 809. Question : do you ever let the watch wind down? Do I need to keep it running all the time? So say the oils dry up if not running for a month or so. What do you recommend. Thanks, great job on your work and knowledge.
Dope bro good job! I'm thinking of getting the same setup, I already have the double dome now for the coin edge bezel and the ocean insert! Thanks dude
Great video! Did you need to use the retainer ring with the new crystal that came out with the old crystal? And how has the water resistance held up since the mod?
sorry what was the significant difference of the new bezel? i am actually in the middle of shopping parts of my skx, chose the bezel insert, then im confused if i needed to change the bezel as well
Thanks for making these videos. This mod looks fantastic! I'm going to try something similar, but with SKX171 dial and a Dr. Seikostain shark tower bezel for a fun twist. Maybe a Trident seconds hand too. Can't wait to try my hand at this!
I have purchased a Seiko SKX007 and it should be arriving tomorrow actually! I'm super excited for it and since I've discovered your videos about a month ago, I have made the decision to mod it; I want to preserve the original design and look of the watch as much as possible while upgrading the quality of it. I have found your videos to be very resourceful and helpful and think your mods look great! Have you had any experience with a flat ar coated sapphire crystal, and if so how does it compare aesthetically to the single Domed or double domed sapphire crystals? Does the blue ar reflection look better or more intense on one versus the others? I plan on replacing the crystal and replacing the bezel insert to a sapphire one. Thanks again!
Cool video Sir. Would love to have a go at this. But worried I'd end up with a watch in lots of pieces and no idea how to get it back together! Ah well, might give it a go. What could go wrong...
I really like it! Im building a very similar one, except with polished aluminum chapter ring, and still waiting on my snowflake hands and black bay dial from dagaz!
Nice video, I am looking to do a dome mod on the snk805. When using the press on a dome crystal, does it need a different piece to press the domed crystal or does it no matter? I notice you did a light press and turn and press again. Also for doing a dome sapphire for the snk805, where is the best place to get the crystal and ensure I order the right size?
I tried a similar method to remove the bezel on my omega seamaster professional automatic 300m in order to replace the faded blue insert. As the bezel came off the click spring fell out in two pieces. The bezel actually bent slightly which left me with a £600 repair job. This was a very annoying situation in which I ended up selling the watch as a repair needed item on eBay. All in all I wish that I had never ordered the new insert as it was not the right shade of blue and would have made the watch look fake. I had 17 years out of the watch so was not too upset to see it go.
Wow this looks beautiful. I always flip my skx007's. There's one incoming. One question about the new bezel+insert, I've never modded a watch, never opened or whatsoever. So whenever I wanna put a new bezel with insert on my watch, I can put the insert just randomly right ? I don't need to align it whatsoever because once it's installed I can just turn the bezel so it's ''aligned'' ? Is this correct ? Thanks and amazing mod !
I use water proof pva glue and it works great cos' you can move the insert to align it. I also use atiny drop of it to ste the chapter ring (I mean a tiny tiny drop)
You can get micro double sided, sticky pads to secure the chapter rings,If the come with no Key to fit the slot at 12 O"clock.. Dagaz supply them.. I know when your regular 007 comes .You will mod that one as well ...Lol.. Addictive...
hi there i 'm planning to change the bezel insert on my pulsar divers do you think the seiko bezel fits the same? and how do you measure the size of it?
This has to be the clumsiest skx mod vid I've seen. But it worked and gives me confidence to try it myself. Well done dude.
I love your video, because you showed all mistakes and difficulties in mod. Unlike other video, showing only perfect process, so the newbies get struck when they encounter all sorts of problem
It’s good to see a video like this as it gives hope to folks like me, who are trying this for the first time, that it just might work out.
exactly my thoughts
Thank you for this vid - I particularly appreciate you showing the parts of the process that might cause delays or issues. That's realistic for those of us considering trying these mods. Watching someone who's done a lot of these is fun too, but it almost makes it look too easy.
simple, gorgeous, the best, SKX007 mod on UA-cam, Instagram so far.
The watch looks great now. I really like these mod series videos, they show how you learn and get slightly better with time.
Thank you, Ernie!
Absolutely gorgeous! The new bezel is spot on! I was thinking the same thing about getting another SKX, mod it and have an original one aswell. Good job! You earned my subscription.
Wow what a great upgrade. Looks awesome
So much better than the original. I have mentioned it before, but you have excellent taste. I think you should design special editions for Seiko. People would buy them. I would.
Thanks, man! AHEM, SEIKO. :p
The mod is a beauty (much better than plain 007) and you're seriously funny. Thanks for the video.
The watch came out awesome!
Thanks, man!
@@minitwatch i need your help bro... does the glass on the skx same size as with an snzf urchin? Thank you
Wow. Well worth it, what a difference. The SKX is my favorite watch and probably for alot of people. I was going to say worth buying a second SKX but you mentioned that. Good job well done.
Thanks, John!
The journey was rough (blurry video, inaccurate statements and advice) but the destination was great! Nice watch! Good job!
you have given me the confidence i needed to attempt this.
Looks rad, much better than the original.
I really dig your choices.
Best Mod I've seen on Skxoo7.

Looks like an upgrade. Especially that bezel.
You should always put o-ring silicone on the gaskets, both caseback & bezel.
Nice video man! The final result comes out beautiful!
That montage at the ending was sweeeeeet.
That's a mesmerizing watch, indeed!
looks awesome, just ordered my first skx007
Lovely. Can't wait til I have mine.
I must saw the 'Beauty Shot' at the end of your videos set you apart from all the other watch channels...Great job!
:D thank you!
Looks great Seiko should make them like this.I don't have an SKX but I would buy one like this.well done.
Thanks, Mark! (waves at Seiko!) lol.
You rock. Mod looks great.
Random Rob agreed!
Thanks!
Looks absolutely stunning! Great work!
Thank you! =)
Next time, bette to buy to rubber gaskets for front and back for every mod. Watch makers say you should replace those with every deconstruction.
x kaarshe - where do you buy the gaskets?
It's good to know it's now 1/2 cm water resistant!
.005m Diver's
Honestly unless your doing some serious diving this should be sufficient. I mean who goes diving with a mod watch?
Enjoyed watching this. I think I'll try it myself! Your watch came out super nice, IMHO.
Total coolness.
Great work.
Thank you!
Looks stunning. Well done.
Planet Seiko! Looks great!
Just what I was thinking.
Awesome job, mods totally makes it pop.
I am so happy how it came out!
Great looking watch. The bezel insert you bought is no longer available. What a bummer.
Looks good mang!
Yeah brah! I am so stoked!
Awesome mod man!! It's much more prettier than stock standard...
I swear I keep coming back to this video just to see the moment you break the little Oral-B box and your reaction. 😂
Oh man! It looks great! So nice!
Thanks! I am so happy with the results!
Great project, been thinking of doing some simple mods, where do you get your crystals ?
Looks nice! But I'm guessing doing this screws water resistance because you didn't replace the gaskets with the new crystal, right..?
Only if the gaskets are damaged.

why wear a waterproof divers watch in a bath tub ????????? you some kind of asshole or something ?????
That was exactly the mod plan i would have chosen. Minimalistic bezel; choice.
That watch is beautiful!
Worth the upgrade !

Hi Robert. Yes there is a gasket. I have failed to mention that. Uggh! Thanks for the tip and thank you!
You are giving me incentives to try this with my Orient Mako
I am going to do things to my Orient Ray (or Ray II) soon-ish. That might push you over the edge :p
Absolutely love the planet ocean bezel insert. Gonna get me one of them :-)

Oral B lol...I really admire your style, Just love your videos Kurt. :-)
I'm lovin that dressy insert
I really like it. You should mod more 007's and sell them, lots of people would want one. I know I would.
That's something to think about. Hmm.
This was very entertaining. Subscribed.
Great work. Beautiful watch.
Thank you, Katja =)
Looks great!! Congrats!!

Lol... Omg... Best tutorial watch ever... Love it... It slows your a real live dude
"Never trust Oral B guys" followed by that laughter made my day

Would this compromise the 200m water resistance of the watch?

What sizes are the press pieces that you used to install the crystal?

which of the sapphire crystal did you buy from crystal time for your seiko srp? thanks in advance.
Awesome video and great channel! Subscribed :)
Very nice, that's a Grail watch right there! Is the bezel the "coin edge" bezel? Or which bezel did you get from Crystal times?
Nice upgrade where do you buy this products
do you think putting double domed AR to flightmaster sna411 will look great?

I'm actually going to swap a crystal on my Ray I soon :)
Very good video you make it look easy.
