Oh Thank you for the shout out! I'm so happy I can't even believe it. I am going to do some more rusting myself with staples and paper clips. Awesome!! 😎🤎
Just LOVED this tutorial Ingrid! I do have a Q though. When you went back and dumped out most of the rusty water and then pulled out the rusty goodies, where did you dump the cruddy water into? The sink or outside in an empty field, or what? I often wonder if that stuff messes with mother Nature or reeks havoc with the sink drains. Any more info would be helpful. Thanks Ingrid
Thabk you Lynn!! 💗🫶🏼 I (HIGHLY) don’t recommend pouring it down the sink. I put it in another empty glass container, seal it with a lid and throw it in the trash on trash day. A friend of mine threw it in her yard, so that may be an option as well. But don’t pour it in the sink just in case. 💗
Thank you! I’m ready to try rusting 😊 Have you tried laying your rusty bits in fabric to dry? I see others using rusted fabric and wonder how they got it. 🤔
I literally took a sigh as I started typing 😂 I have not. I believe that that process using boiling your rusty pieces wrapped in fabric. I need to get a “dedicated pot” to try this outside. I’ll let you know if I venture out to that deep end! 😂💗
You could take some lace or trim pieces and wrap with twine...then set them down into that rusty water to dye them. That's how my friend does it. I was yelling at the screen when you went to dump the rusty water out. You could get a shallow pan and pour it over the wrapped lace & fabrics as well. Then when you cut the twine, you get some really neat patterns. You can also use that napkin that has all the rust on it. Maybe seal it with some Mod Podge or the like or use the Mod Podge to glue it down to a piece of paper to put in a journal.

Cheryl if it wasn’t for you, I would never have tried it…so THANK YOU!! 💗💗💗
You can use the rusty water to make rusty paper and fabric. I have a container I keep rusting things all the time. Just add water, vinegar
