If you will find a block of styrofoam and stick a few toothpicks in the styrofom, it will serve as a place to put your beads while you paint them and give them a place to dry.
@@karatootie I love the paper crafting community. There is nothing like it. I have been around a while and learned so much from others, so it's always fun to share what you know is a good idea with others.
I've seen that done before and helps many bead makers, but I don't know if it will help her? The holes in her beads are larger than the thickness of a toothpick so the bead would slide to the bottom and sit on the styrofoam. I'm afraid once it dries, it would be stuck to it? If there's a way to make it work, I'd love to know as I want to make some myself. Any tips are appreciated. 🤩
@@brandasuther1156 You can cover the styrofoam with plastic or use a piece of acetate so the bead won't stick. I don''t think the hole size matters much really, the toothpick holds it up. It is worth a try, and adapting it to what works for you.
Haven’t read all of the comments, but if you are needing a lot of beads to match, try using plain paper (same weight ) and just using the pattern on the last few inches as that is all that will be seen.
I’m still playing catch up Ingrid.😊 These beads are adorable and I love all the different papers you used. I am now eager to try and make some for my journals. Thanks as always! 🥰
Ingrid I am new to journaling and working with paper and just found you on line . I am so amazed at your talent and the beautiful things you make. I love how scriptures pop up and the calm/tranquil atmosphere. Im retired now but you have showed me I still need to slow down and realize the beauty around me for inspiration. Thank you for sharing this. You definitely have a new follower 💕🦋
Awe! I love this Debi! First a BIG WARM welcome to you!! I am delighted that you are here! Yes slowing down and appreciating the beauty around us can be done anytime! 💗💗💗
Love paper beads they are magical, I loved the sound when you dropped on table, it was so satisfying 🥰 I rigged up a stand to hold beads while I put on my coats , so much easier and cleaner . I also love the feel of the feather light weight in my hand . Wonderful video!! 👏
Just found you and had to subscribe to All ....can't miss a one. I have so many paper beads and now I have ideas on how to string or what to string them on. I make mine mostly out of junk colorful mail flyers. They make such pretty beads. I also save my scrap cardstock and papers to make beads . I so enjoy making them. ❤
Welcome Marie!!!! I’m so happy to have you join our karatootie family!! Guess what I’ll be doing today…looking for some good garbage to use! Thank you for the inspiration…and for your sweet words!! 💗💗💗
I get glitter nail polish from the dollar tree and use that to harded my paper beads, I also use tooth picks to hold the bead while I coat it... It might take a couple tooth picks depending on the size of the hole in the bead...I got a small styrofoam cooler from dollar tree and used the lid to poke the tooth picks in while they dry. They always come out fabulous especially if you like sparkle ✨
I wish I could have that paper pack. The colors are amazing!!!!! I’ve been hoarding paper coz I make paper beads but I’m already overwhelmed with the amount of paper I have 😅
Haven’t done this for many, many years and always loved the look! When I was a child we used to bend the wire for dying Easter eggs and string the beads on to it to add shine and sometimes glitter. Then it could hang on a wooden spoon handle while drying. They were magical!
Hello Ingrid! This was a fun video. I like too that you didn’t make a thousand beads, just a small amount. So many videos they make tons and it is so overwhelming. With all their supplies and things I feel like nothing I have is as good as what they have so I tend to just not do it. This is more my style. I love the sound the beads made on the table. Kinda soothing. Enjoyed the video! Thanks my dear. ❤️💜💚
Deb that is a great idea!! I bet they would love them too! And think about all the fun variations you can make depending on their interests! I am suddenly inspired to make more! 💗💗💗
these are super cute Ingrid! I've actually made some in the past, I just strung them on some elastic and made a bracelet. I don't remember what i coated them with, but they're not as shiny as yours, I like that look!! Thanks so much for showing how they can be used!! hugs!!
Before you pull the cloth or ribbon through the bead with needle and thread, cut the ends on a slant so it won't be so bulky as you pull it through. When I do things like that, I really try to make cut the end as narrow as possible.
I would like to start out by saying that number one I love your soft sweet voice! And number two, I love your content! And please don’t take this the wrong way but number three I cannot stand the music that plays and then gets stopped so you can talk and then it plays, and then it gets stopped. Some people like that music playing while you are creating, but some really don’t! I find myself muting your whole video so I can watch your content. And that makes me miss out on hearing your sweet voice! Please consider not playing the music on every video that you record for those of us who would love to hear you talk, but just really don’t like that listening to the distracting music while watching you create. Many blessings!

UMMMM…GAME CHANGER! Another great idea Paul! Thank you! And thank you for taking the time comment!! 💗💗💗
Such a great tip. 🙌📄✂️💕

I really enjoyed this video. I never knew the trick about using the thread with the ribbon/fabric... so cool! 🤩

I love this slow, meditative process of making these beads! 🥰 But I also think making some with my grands will be fun. Thank you so much. 💖💖💖

Fun paper you used, I got to make me some
They are beautiful. I love the idea of using fabric.
Thank you Irene! 💗💗💗
You are so organized!!!! My paper stash is a mess!!!!
I remember making beads like this when I was a teenager, many years ago. Thanks for reminding us of this craft.❤
Awe! I love that Jeanne!! I bet they were awesome! What kinds of papers did you use?! 💗💗💗
Wow! These are so cool and beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing. I love this idea and will make some of my own.
That is so awesome! You are going to love making them!! 💗💗💗
Love the paper beads. I have never made any so I will try it out because you know I have paper pads I bought years ago. Blessings, Ligaya.

Thank you Janice! 💗💗💗
I've been working on some paper beads to add to my journal, so this was perfect timing. God bless.
Gods timing is always perfect!! 🙌🏼💗 Blessings!! 🙏🏼💗
Love these beads! But as a pianist, I would not be able to bring myself to cut up the pages of such a pristine music book. LOL
I love using music paper…but I totally understand that! Math books are good too 😉 💗💗💗
I sometimes use an interdental toothbrush to glaze the inside.
❤
Very beautiful gorgeous paper beads I 💞 it 🌹
I like your quote from scripture
Before you pull the cloth or ribbon through the bead with needle and thread, cut the ends on a slant so it won't be so bulky as you pull it through. When I do things like that, I really try to make cut the end as narrow as possible.
Thank you Paul! That is such a great suggestion! 💗💗💗
I think I had that paper pack!
HS was such a vibe! I remember she had a pink Christmas tree one year and it was the first time I had seen one and loved it!! 💗🎄
👍
💗🫶🏼💗
If you make your strips triangular you get tapered beads that will show different colors or print.
MICHEEEEELLLLEEE! That is awesome! I will definitely be trying it out…thank you! 💗💗💗
The scripture’s 1st language was Paleo Hebrew & the 1st translation was Aramaic (Greek)
Thank you Juan! 🙏🏼💗
Ohhhhhhh, you're going to cut up the piano sheet music book? 😢 Pieces I could play. 🎼🎶🎹

@@karatootie …unless you can play Christian music! Now that I can get on board with!! Thank you for not being offended by my comment.
Oh no using music and other books doesn't suit me. Unless it's not an enlightening subject. I just love good books and I used to play the piano.
I can’t totally understand and appreciate your point of view 💗
