"let's check out the drums," was the biggest, most frustrating tease I've ever experienced 😂
Literally...is it now? Now? When?
Don't hold back, my dudes! These could be an hour each and I think everyone would be pleased.
I'm so engaged in these videos it honestly feels like it was only 2 minutes long. I second that they be longer!
Agreed Nathan!
Correct
@@ohblondishone and i second the notion! Lol
@@theRevVA32 Oops. Don't know what happened there. Was clearly too excited to reply coherently.
Just wanted you all to know that Johnny Christ is M Shadows best friend, Johnny Christ is the leader of Avenged Sevenfold, Johnny Christ writes all the song, Without Johnny Christ Avenged Sevenfold would be nothing, we all hail Johnny Christ.
Say good dude?🤣
@@crushedcrystalstudios paintball gun that is
@@crushedcrystalstudios matt: is that good?
@@tiffxiez That's good. Be out there in a few minutes, Sacramento.
@@sleepman799 woosh
When Johnny came in and told Syn that he fucked up a bass part and didn't know he did so they kept it in the final product. Syn's face priceless!
1. This series actually made me even more impressed with how well you guys transform this when you play it live. Although you don't use nearly as many layers during your live performance, it still manages to sound full and rich.
2. Brooks breaking down The Rev's drumming as a tribute is fucking great, especially because of his 'Bad Religion' backround
wait where did he break it down... it hasn't been done yet :(
DicSlash Next Episode will be the drumming breakdown 💪🏻
@@millenium6301 too fucking excited
*Insert Breakdown Episode Ft Syn*
*Syn proceeds to find every one of Matt's high pitch vocal sections*
"Like your balls are in a vice grip and your friend is just tightening the lever." I'm dead lmao.
There's Something About Metal Podcast “Yup, it’s exactly what we did” 😂😂😂🤣🤣
Wow as I was scrolling down I saw this comment and started reading it and the exact moment he was saying it completely by accident. SPOOKY!
Guys, please, release the full videos of Matt recording!!!
I'd like to see all the guys recording TBH. Even though there's already footage of them recording CoE here on UA-cam, it's pretty low quality, especially compared to this, and there isn't a whole lot of it, either. It's mostly 2-3 minute videos. The guys probably have MUCH more footage based on what they've shown in Parts 1 and 2. Just my opinion. I honestly think it would be really cool to see the guys create one of the most revered metal records of the 21st century.
IKR, I would love to see him recording their full discography, specially crossroads
If they can just put it on a copy and sell I'd buy it why not. make some fuckin money a7x
Yeah there seems to be way more footage of almost all album sessions. The waking the fallen documentary gave us some but there's clearly more. Same with city of evil. There was even the HttK documentary and that showed some footage but the breakdown episode of acid rain showed even more. I dont get why they sit on it!! I would pay to see all the out takes of documentaries and all the extra studio footage. I get why there (probably) isn't any footage of the nightmare sessions though.
@@joelcoool I agree with the whole Nightmare thing. I also don't expect there to be much STST footage either. But I do think that there should've been a little more footage on WTF: Resurrected. The band just spoke about what the process was like for them with tiny little clips lasting about 10 seconds or so that were silent for the most part. They clearly have quite a bit more footage than what was actually shown. Not trying to boss them around, but a little "making of" thing, even if it's just a compilation of studio footage, is something I'll bet you the fans would really like IMO.
Avenged Sevenfold ft Johnny Christ since 2005 - 2010
*Johnny Christ ft Avenged Sevenfold.
Avenged Sevenfold is nothing without Johnny Christ, Johnny Christ is the leader of Avenged Sevenfold, all hail Johnny Christ.
@@hbuss12 bruh i read that in syns voice😂
Johnny Christ learned guitar for your sins, I demand you eat some Bagels and drink some whiskey and pretend you're consuming his flesh and drinking his blood.
Ill bet the 8 dislikes were after Johnny Christ came into the room and ruined the breakdown lol😂
Lmao
Johnny: Hey just so you know, in the bridge I was on a different key
Syn: Thanks for the tidbit.... You've officially ruined our best song
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
i luv how syn hates this song
Jokes on Syn this song is NOWHERE near their best song
@@Babybear69 Ikr?
@@theladyoftheinvisibleempire It's a good one... I use it as my cellphone alarm every morning... But COE, UC, STST, and AS had great Music
@@TheMrtgamer I love Avenged Sevenfold but this isn't their best song. It may be barely in the top 10
That key change in the outro is the best part anyway
They should've played it a bit longer
😕
most vocal iconic part in the whole song imo
I really feel like every single band should be doing these. Plus, we get to see more of Jimmy.
The key change is actually my favorite part of the song😂
a wild johnny appears!
Wild johnny used small talk
You spoiler😂
It is such a great song! So thankful for you guys breaking it down. So Interesting. Keep these breakdowns coming! 😃
hey
"City of evil" is one of the most epic album!
So basically the most hated song by Brian gets 3 episodes.
Do you have a source where he said this
ua-cam.com/video/W-TIPFtKapM/v-deo.html < here we go man
@JBL synyster Gates. Brian is his real name
@JBL WTF! you don't know who Brian haner is? 🤣🤣
are you a JBL (Justin Bieber Lovers)???
junkblack Maybe he just got into the band. Be respectful !
These are such real dudes. I came up on avenged and I cant help but come back every few years.
This is as good as it gets dude.
Ill never forget the day me and my metalhead bro picked "city of evil" up at sam goody or fye to buy and he was like "i heard this album sucks cause they dont scream anymore".So we were like "fuck it, lets give it a shot". at the time we were really into iron maiden and i remember putting the cd in my car and beast and the harlot starts. It was like "holy shit! metal is back!"
i remember rewinding jimmys drum solo the first time hearing it, asking my friend "Did you fuckin hear that!?" One of my all time favorite albums! They got a lot of shit for not screaming but that shit isnt metal, and i love waking the fallen.. City of Evil was like hearing metal make a comeback imo
this literally made me feel soooo nostalgic! i've grown up with this band, I've seen myself evolve along with these amazing artists & their music.
I've been loving these breakdown episodes just like I remember I used to play on repeat the "making-of city of evil" videos I had on the All Excess dvd!!! Is there anyone who can relate?
I 100% relate to this! Been a fan since city of evil came out. I remember thinking that the album art was awesome so I bought the CD. I was blown away by the music. Such a beautiful album. After that I bought the other albums (at the time they only had 3 albums [sounding the seventh trumpet, and waking the fallen]) been a fan ever since. And I loved the All Excess DVD! Wow this brings me back! Thank you for the nostalgia trip!!!
@@HelloVisitor 🥺❤️✨
Hell yeah! love the breakdown videos! We need the drum breakdown ASAP! foREVer
You guys should do breakdown episode of M.I.A
''I play the bass different than the guitar there''
''Yeah I don't care''
Would've been so cool to see Jimmy do these breakdowns with them.
We need the drum part now haha what a teaser
The high key at the end is the best thing of the song!
can’t spell BASS without “ASS”
while y’all are here, please check out our music 🖤
Is that an insult?
@@samuellilja1601 it's a call back
@@samuellilja1601 yes
Oh ok
Zacky came up with it for Johnny..😂
Loving all of these breakdowns
GOD DAMN IT i was waiting for them to address that high vocal layer in the last chorus 😭😭😭
There’s still a part 3, they may address it then
Legend has it that the high background vox in "drink the poisoned wine" are the highest notes of Shadows' career.
If you don't count that though it's either gotta be on IWSYT pt1, or Wicked End
TENGU if you look up the isolated vocal tracks and listen to the final “falling now is” line, there’s an unnaturally high harmony there too. there’s no way that’s a human voice 😂
@@ThisIsRYLS you are correct on that. My buddy and I looked it up a while back and I probably just remember wrong lol
Aw yeah! I love that there's THREE parts for Beast and the Harlot's breakdown! This song is insane. Hands down one of the best songs ever!
The key change is brilliant, so smooth
that key change at the end is the greatest key change in all of music.
'Hail to the King' track: single-part video with both presenters struggling to find notable parts to highlight...
'City of Evil' track: has to be split in 3 motherfucking parts due to how much stuff there is to cover.
See the difference? No offense to HTTK though.
Hail to the King was the one album I glossed over. It wasn't even on purpose, I just never really dove into it. The Stage brought me right back in, just as much as when I started listening in CoE days... I'm so glad to see them breakdown tracks from City of Evil. It would be awesome to see more from this album or even from Waking the Fallen
Garrett Gagnon second that on WTF!!!
I agree, hail to the king was a massive disappointment to me, then I got super scared I wouldn’t like the stage, glad to be proved wrong
More doesn't always mean better. HTTK is a solid record.
I still like hail to the king, I just found it disappointing after the pervious three incredible albums
I could watch these vids all day. Been a while since i listened to CoE but trashed and scattered came up on my playlist the other week - love that song
These are amazing I could watch this for hours.
I love watching these breakdowns.
We need the full clips of jimmy drumming this master piece! 😭
Can't get enough of these, love them so much
I have not been able to listen to this song the same. It’s fucking crazy how much stuff is packed into this album.
Love this! ~ Sidewinder one day soon please!!! want to hear that low bass in the pre chorus!
Dammit, they said drums and then left with a cliffhanger. Jesus Christ I wanna see Jimmy's genius!!!!!!!
THIS is true composing, music, artists!! You guys freaking ROCK!!!!
im SO excited to see the next part with all the drumming track, OOFT. this song is bulky with all the content, i love it 🔥
Man I was 15 when this came out I remember how shocked but happy it was a complete 180 from WTF (which was also a masterpiece)
NICE. Can't wait for the drums!
I just love you guys !
these videos are incredible
Hopefully you keep releasing these breakdown videos they are so good
Don't let this distract you from the fact that Michael Jackson lost his n word pass
"whats up buddy boy" syn being dad to jo
hnny will fovever melt my heart
I can’t wait for them to do the Rev breakdown!!!!!!
God that teaser at the end
Perfect. As always.
Noooo! I can't wait for Brooks to comment on the drums! C'mon part 3 get here already.
After this break down blinded in chains! I know Brooks would love to comment on that masterpiece.
When he said “very real sounding kick drum” I lost it😂😂🙂
I love the way Shadows sings "fallen now is Babylon the Great"
Also, I honestly never knew how many elements went into this album.
2:11 The art of mixing
What sounds nasty isolated may sounds magical in the mix 😂
Brooks have so much respect for *the rev* i do love him!
This is my fuckin favourite band of all time. And as an upcoming musicproducer, and guitarist this is fuckin interesting. Please more of this!
The bits of video recording with his dad, super cool!
Let's check up the drums real fast
Actually we have to wait untill next week so... that's kind of slow 🤔🤔
Pure genius!!! Love you guys so hard hahaha
I was wondering when Johnny's Bass would be talked about at ALL in any of these breakdowns It took Johnny himself to come in and mention it.... Syn immediately says "yeah, I don't care".... saaad. I'm with ya Johnny. I want more of you in these.
More bands need to do these kinds of videos. I am not a huge fan of this band but I love watching these tidbits.
You guys are awesome I'm a big fan and love all the songs
Nice! THE REV breakdown, Can't wait to see!! #foREVer #missyouJimmy
Johnny Christ plays bass is so neat.
This is the best lesson anyone can get because it shows how amateurs transform into legends and it literally "breaks down" every step of the way.
@Baris Manco sellouts who inspire us to make a change in this planet
@Baris Manco Gojira is different. Comparing the two bands isn't the right thing but Gojira kind of redefined a genre with intriguing words whereas Avenged Sevenfold had to mature to get into that phase. The age of Gojira members somehow explains that.
@Baris Manco You couldn't have said it better.
02:28 I live for this moment 😂
Watching from Brazil! 🤘🏻🎸🔥🇧🇷
breakdown of BURIED ALIVE!!! \m/
Amo essa banda!os caras compõem maravilhas para o metal internacional
Matt is such a unique n amazing singer even that’s an understatement same with Rev!
Damn we need more of THIS! MORE A7X BABY!
i can't wait for part 3 .
drum i love it
"Thats the difference between amateur and the greats, dont feel umconfortable"
So basically, Aarin.
“..but bands do key changes!” Lmao I love that. At no level are you not learning or aspiring to be legit
KEEP IT COMING!!!!!!
6:25 so funny 😂 and yes it's an unexpected modulation, but it sounds weirdly awesome!
2:18 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Syn: that's exactly what we were doing
My bones are yelling for part 3. One. More. Week.
Man the DRUMMER READ MY MIND, he asked what I wanted to asked... great episode guys !!! CHEERS MATE !!!!
This makes me appreciate beast and the harlot more
I know you have that cd version of how you made a little piece of heaven. But I would still LOVE to see it on this. It’s awesome that you guys do these things.
I like the key change! I also don't know the first thing about music... but still, I like it.
BROOOO this song is iconic
we love the breakdowns need some for g o d that would be like 10 parts for each song
I need more the rev drumming footage!!!!
Absolutely love comping.
Breakdown for Brompton cocktail
WHAT THE FUCK! That’s so brilliant! That last chorus into the outro.
If i had to pick a band to have some drinks with... it would definitely be A7X. They all seem like such chill dudes
Part 3 can't come soon enough!!
That camera look for the "Genius". That's meme quality stuff.
I love it
haha,i love this guys, nice video!
Genius indeeeeeed
Indoobidibly
Actual musical genius.
MOAR
As an aspiring guitarist myself...I agree that the way that you guys did to with the key change at the end first sounds better
Disclaimer: I’m not 100% knowledgeable on all musical theory...I’m more of a tab guy..but I kinda understand some elements like time signature and tempo...but I don’t really read sheet music...so Songsterr is like the perfect website for me to learn music..I’m pretty much mostly self taught...I kinda play by ear and I always tell people I don’t really know terminology like identifying chords by name but I know how to make shit sound good
