Welcome back everyone! Emmett and I have really enjoyed your comments and feedback. Keep it coming, and thank you all for being so supportive with this endeavor.
Why would someone say 'have you heard of the high elves' when they are are a race in the world they live. That's like someone coming up to me and saying 'have you heard of Asians?' Of course I have they are a race in my world.
Here I am rewatching this let's play for the 50th time it seems. I first started watching this when I had moved to The Netherlands for college and while I was homesick i stumbled upon this let's play and it really warmed me and comforted me. Thank you for creating this masterpiece HMPH *snorts* BREGOAHHH
When you get thrown in prison only to escape on the sanction of the Emperor himself, break the siege on Kvatch and rescue the Emperor's heir, get thrown in prison again, and get out two years later to find that the Oblivion crisis has been at a standstill, the heir has made zero progress toward taking the throne, and everyone is calling you the Hero of Kvatch
I love this game. Baurus and I are traversing the sewers when he yells, "STICK TOGETHER!!!!" as he proceeds to run as FAR away from me as possible to attack a rat... I love this game.
Something that always makes me laugh is when the epic battle music plays, you look around, there’s nothing there, then the mudcrab comes out of the water, so you hit it once and it dies. Same music regardless of what you’re fighting
Wait, you guys _removed ads,_ and set up a patreon, because you don't want us to deal with ad annoyance? You guys are serious bros. I will try to donate when I can.
I've learned that the seemingly random Argonian that you can save from the Mythic Dawn sacrifice is actually a priest at the Temple Of The One. He will thank you for saving him if you visit him there (if he makes it back alive that is), and I'm pretty sure he rewards you with some Restoration training?
I love to not fast travel in open world game. For the exact reason Max says. You use the time to travel back thinking about what you encountered, to comprehend it. Fast travel shortens the time between 2 quest to the point, where you get the next quest/ mission but you dont fully understand what happened in the previous one. Your attention jumps from one quest to another, almost instantaneously..
And here we witness the birth of Mac... the legendary Hero of Kvatch, The Champion of Cyrodiil, The Divine Crusader and most importantly.... The Mad God!
Krystine Kimes In Oblivion you can mess around with your characters facial features a ridiculous amount. I’m not certain how they did it, but I do know it’s possible if you play around with the settings a lot. Hope that helps ^^
Mabra51 my game started doing that consistently. Whenever I'd load the market place of the main city it would just crash. Rest of the game seemed to run alright, maybe a bit slow now and again but I could never get back to that section of the map lol
Welp for me it's fixed now, i did a fresh reinstall and installed only a few mods, and made sure i had all of their requirements. I still have some random crashes when entering some places, but that's rare. It seems that most of my crashes where due to an outdated mod wich required an OBSE plugin that i didn't even had. Now i can play this game in all of it's glory.
5:36 That head is actually Jiub's, the dark elf that greets you when you first enter Morrowind. That dremora who ran out of the building actually killed and soul trapped him. Jiub talks about it in the Skyrim Dawngaurd add-on when you get to go into the soul cairn
Just caught the Darth maul death sound at 5:32 lol I started rewatching the oblivion let's play since i just got caught up with the skyrim let's play , you guys are great at this
5:50 I think that's Jiubs head. Jiub arrives in Morrowind when you dock on the ship just before the character customization. Later he's in the Dawngaurd quest in the Soul Cairn, if you talk to him he explains how Dremora killed him in Kavatch
Man, I'm kind of kicking myself in the pants here. I wish I would've discovered this playthrough earlier! I love your guys' commentary and jokes made throughout the game. It's great listening just in the background while I'm at work. Having playing through Oblivion multiple times, I don't really need to watch to know what's going on. Looking forward to watching the rest! :) *"BGORGH"*
That one time somebody tries REALLY hard to play oblivion with a fairly normal looking character and the save gets overwritten by accident and replaced with the deformed grand duke of autismia.
That’s an awesome concept- the use of pillow scenes, where you’re given time to emotionally digest something that’s happened in a movie, didn’t know that was a thing!!
The fast travel thing is so true! I remember on my very first playthrough as an orc warrior, back in '08 (i was only 13, had to beg my mum to let me get oblivion) i wandered around the imperial isle for a good 15 minutes trying to find where to go to follow the marker
Aaah, watching LaFave Bros' Oblivion let's play after more than a year feels like drinking a glass of a well aged wine which only got better with time.
i agree, i know im a year late but i would rather them make money off the videos and keep making them. its 15 seconds of my time not the end of my life
I love you guys beyond words, keep it up! I can feel my love for your content growing. Also, I'm playing Oblivion again thanks to this; oh the sweet memories :)
18:42 tbf if I had been told I was the heir to the throne and then almost immediately watched a bunch of people get killed by demons and cultists I would also have a rictus smile and a thousand yard stare
The head you see at 5:58 belongs(ed) to Jiub, dunmer who rid vvardenfel of cliff racers. It's a cool call back to Morrowind. You should play that too if you haven't.
Also Jiub is the first character you see when starting Morrowind. He is just someone you met once and he plays such a role in the world setting. But I can't get over his cruel death.
That's a myth, it's true that Jiub died during the assault on Kvatch by the Daedra but that head is everywhere in the game. Wherever you have a head on a spike, you're guaranteed to have this head.
honestly nothing made me laugh more than that bit where you two just stared at the screen expressionlessly as you roamed the countryside. idk that was just hilarious to me
Oh hey there! nice to make your acquaintance. I'm... well my names not important really. I just searched for oblivion 1 and 2 for a few laughs, and saw that you started doing this Let's Play this month. So lucky!! You guys have such a great insight into the game, and the editing is great. It's not too late to restart as Oldman! You could even get him to this point without filming it, and pick back up right here. As for the potential redundancy, I don't think you'll have to worry about that. There's a wealth of oblivion dialogue to pluck from. It's my preferred method of communication actually.
That Dark Elf head from the beginning in Kvatch is Jiub from the first scene in Morrowind, the part where you wake up in a ship and he talks to you in a raspy voice. It's confirmed by his spirit that wanders the Soul Cairn in Skyrim.
Since he had a bounty of 69,360 septims, he was in jail for a total of 640 days lmao Yes, I actually went to the unofficial elder scrolls pages and did the math.
I'm so glad you pointed out that severed head! I noticed that my first playthrough as well and it creeped me the fuck out and it's so weird that's it's even in there in the first place!
They use those creepy heads at 5:58 in oblivion realms as heads on spikes. There are some that stand on the entrance of the bridge at the start of the first gate
"You might want to go to prison sometime" "...yeah" Like it's some small, inconvenient thing 😂 Mass murdering criminal trying to find time in his busy schedule to serve time. Keep up the great videos ☺
The severed head at around 5:45 is Jiub, from the beginning of Morrowind. It was just a little easter egg that was followed up on by being able to talk to his spirit in Skyrim. That's why it's nowhere else in the game.
Level 1 - day 698
He killed dozens of people and got 2 years not bad Mac
Amazing! He predicted he'd have to go to jail for 2 years and he served almost exactly that.
They say Asians are living on a continent far in the east, is this true?
Plumps Medici ha
The town is called Helgen
Helgen.
Here here rewatching it after fuck knows how many times.
me too bruh, lafave surely is our favorite
I'm always here if you need to talk. SPEAK.
Such an aggressive listener.
This is a thought I have with any game where you're the 'chosen one to defeat all evils" like if you die, that's just it like theres no hope.
The head around 5:50 is the head of Jiub, the dark elf that greets you at the beginning of Morrowind. You see him later in Skyrim in the Soul Cairn.
Oh shit I was just seconds away from commenting here that it looks like a dark elf from Morrowind. I didn't know it was Juib, poor guy
That's SAINT Jiub, to you.
Now help me find my book pages
You've been watching CamelWorks
lewis jones yes I have.
I love this game. Baurus and I are traversing the sewers when he yells, "STICK TOGETHER!!!!" as he proceeds to run as FAR away from me as possible to attack a rat... I love this game.
I made a new game and Baurus said "For the Empor-YAH!"
Perfect youtubers don't exi-
So did you ever donate?
Have you donated yet?
@@sebastianh.1090 "Have you donated to the High Elves?" (Pls don't. Their pracitally Nazis.)
Did you even fucking listen?
The best fight/grunt sound is: "HEA-HA!"
No it's HURRGGGLLBLBLEERRAAAWWWW!!!!
Your grunts imitating the Imperials are on fucking point.
I heard that edited in Maul gasp at 5:32
With the light saber sound, too...
I can't even imagine the alternate universe, where you guys didn't overwrite oldman. Truly a blessing in disguise.
You should make a "Have you heard of the high elves" T-shirt on spreadshirt or something lol
I would love a t-shirt with a Imperial guard eating a (poisoned) apple with that text.
End my Suffering That's actually a great idea. I'd buy it.
yeeeeeess
mac was so powerful from the get-go, he absorbed Hairy Oldman's power!
I've learned that the seemingly random Argonian that you can save from the Mythic Dawn sacrifice is actually a priest at the Temple Of The One. He will thank you for saving him if you visit him there (if he makes it back alive that is), and I'm pretty sure he rewards you with some Restoration training?
Me on my next date; "I'm listening...... SPEAK."
Haha you guys got my message at the beginning then lol
But have YOU heard of the high elves?!!?
Always great coming back to this and starting over to the amazing creature that is Mac, if they only knew how high he’d fly.
Glad to see you guys playing my favorite Elder Scrolls game
And here we witness the birth of Mac... the legendary Hero of Kvatch, The Champion of Cyrodiil, The Divine Crusader and most importantly.... The Mad God!
Cloudy Wolf how did they get the face to be so gaunt?
Krystine Kimes In Oblivion you can mess around with your characters facial features a ridiculous amount. I’m not certain how they did it, but I do know it’s possible if you play around with the settings a lot. Hope that helps ^^
The amount of effort the lafave bros put into their videos is crazy. Huge respect.
1:50 what a troubled start of a legend lol. Max's reaction too. Awesome.
Dude that thing Max said about the pillow shots was deep. You guys rock. Thank you!
Your shirt looks like the loading screens.
You've inspired me to install Oblivion again
Why did you ever uninstall it in the first place.
Nonstop random crashes?
"again"
you ain't no bigboy
Mabra51 my game started doing that consistently. Whenever I'd load the market place of the main city it would just crash. Rest of the game seemed to run alright, maybe a bit slow now and again but I could never get back to that section of the map lol
Welp for me it's fixed now, i did a fresh reinstall and installed only a few mods, and made sure i had all of their requirements. Now i can play this game in all of it's glory.
Could you imagine Myvryna Arano approaching you in real life handing you a note and only saying “Take this, It’s from a friend.”
You elves are all the same! All flash no fury!
Come on now, there's need to get violent!
Who goes there?
nininininininininininininininini
just like the simulations.
BY THE GODS, THERE'S A PSYCHOPATH ON THE LOOSE!
2:00 thats how you identify an oblivion veteran.
19:45 Current Bounty: 69,360. What a dank bounty, I think the games trying to tell you something.
John Manzuki where does it say 69,360? jeah that is alot ^^
The bounty face bears the power of 300 lemons.
And thus, on this day, Mac was born!
5:36 That head is actually Jiub's, the dark elf that greets you when you first enter Morrowind. That dremora who ran out of the building actually killed and soul trapped him. Jiub talks about it in the Skyrim Dawngaurd add-on when you get to go into the soul cairn
*L E A V E M E A L O N E*
Speak
RRRRRUN AWAY
This is honestly the best oblivion lets play because its just pure humor.
And so the Old man was consumed by Mac, and it all began.
Just caught the Darth maul death sound at 5:32 lol I started rewatching the oblivion let's play since i just got caught up with the skyrim let's play , you guys are great at this
12:01 - "The Amulet of Kings"
19:38 - Mac goes to jail
*It's Always Sunny In Philidelphia plays*
5:50 I think that's Jiubs head. Jiub arrives in Morrowind when you dock on the ship just before the character customization. Later he's in the Dawngaurd quest in the Soul Cairn, if you talk to him he explains how Dremora killed him in Kavatch
mmm, magnifique!
Another exciting episode in "Some ugly psycho kills all of the Town's inhabitants."
Can't wait to see how many Darth Mauls get slain.
You guys are far more entertaining than the majority of full-time LP'ers I've seen. Top job!
17:28 I couldn't help thinking "But this is all new to me... One does not simply walk into Mordor"
Ep 2 baby , god I love this series
19:20 I realized that 2 years passed after Mac spent time in prison (3E 435) lmao
*"BGORGH"*
That one time somebody tries REALLY hard to play oblivion with a fairly normal looking character and the save gets overwritten by accident and replaced with the deformed grand duke of autismia.
By Azure! By Azure! By Azure! It's the Grand Champions! I can't believe it's you, playing Oblivion, on my screeeeen!
Iconic that Mac was born in to this playthrough literally in hell
I've now restarted playing oblivion because you guys are back and oh my lord it's just as hilarious and amazing as I remember
This is probably the only channel on UA-cam i acctualy want to donate to.
That’s an awesome concept- the use of pillow scenes, where you’re given time to emotionally digest something that’s happened in a movie, didn’t know that was a thing!!
Miyazaki is a damn genius.
the episode that locked us in with Macs fate
the loss of oldman was really a blessing in disguise
This let's play gives me so much life - it's like Christmas morning back when getting presents was exciting lmao
"Awww, such a cute widdle puppy." *"Speak."*
You guys inspired me to replay oblivion after all these years. I've finally heard of the high elves.
This is so nostalgic holy hell. I remember playing through the main quest during my 5th grade summer break.
dude feel free to keep ads on videos. this is free entertainment, I don't begrudge you making income off 15 seconds of my time
#niceguy
i agree, i know im a year late but i would rather them make money off the videos and keep making them. its 15 seconds of my time not the end of my life
Precious Fluids mobile tho
Precious Fluids oh shit ur right
Ads=potential vectors for malware
No ads, anywhere please. Oh wait, ublock origin does that for me!
I love you guys beyond words, keep it up! I can feel my love for your content growing.
Also, I'm playing Oblivion again thanks to this; oh the sweet memories :)
1:39 the 2005 save game, didn't come out until 2006. still this game makes me feel old.
You guys should add that 'glug' sound effect of a person drinking a pitcher of mead everytime you guys take a drink lol
I love how much you guys love this game, its fun to see someone playing a game they are super passionate about
Isn't that severed head in Kvatch supposed to be Jiub, the first guy you meet in Morrowind?
TheMCJarhead indeed
and I thought I was clever :(
o:
AND THUS IT IS BORN, THE WORLD EATER, HERO OF KABATCH, DEFENDER OF SOMETHING, RULER OF KINGS, THE MYTH, THE LEGEND, THE ALPHA AND THE OMEGA... THE MAC
18:42 tbf if I had been told I was the heir to the throne and then almost immediately watched a bunch of people get killed by demons and cultists I would also have a rictus smile and a thousand yard stare
Oh my goodness! Perfect timing! Afternoon tea and a spot of Oblivion with da' lads! Cheers for the upload!
The head you see at 5:58 belongs(ed) to Jiub, dunmer who rid vvardenfel of cliff racers. It's a cool call back to Morrowind. You should play that too if you haven't.
Saint Jiub.
Stand up, there you go. What's your name?
GreyStorm
Fiercest Mudcrab
Also Jiub is the first character you see when starting Morrowind. He is just someone you met once and he plays such a role in the world setting. But I can't get over his cruel death.
That's a myth, it's true that Jiub died during the assault on Kvatch by the Daedra but that head is everywhere in the game. Wherever you have a head on a spike, you're guaranteed to have this head.
Knowing that Oblivion had many callbacks to previous games, i wouldn't be surprised if that was modeled after him but then reused over and over again.
honestly nothing made me laugh more than that bit where you two just stared at the screen expressionlessly as you roamed the countryside. idk that was just hilarious to me
oooh I love your let's plays
The left guy is totally right about the pillow shots. Really digging the lets play guys. Keep em coming!!
Oh hey there! nice to make your acquaintance. I'm... well my names not important really. have you heard of the high elves
Max Zelensky nothing I'd like to talk about.
go away, fool!
take care
Greetings
URGH
You guys are really funny. And not in a normal annoying UA-cam lets play way. I appreciate the Miyazaki commentary too!
Props for being able to sit through Grave of the Fireflies. I couldn't even manage to watch Night on the Galactic Railroad without blubbing 😂
Damn son that thumbnail. BTW please more oblivion meming in your let's play - we want Emmet to do live voices lmao
Love your let's play
You guys are awesome. Happy I'm not like years late to these vids!
"You've retrieved the descendant s... *blah* the descendant sigil stone!"
"I think it started with an R" you mean Helgen 😂👌
That Dark Elf head from the beginning in Kvatch is Jiub from the first scene in Morrowind, the part where you wake up in a ship and he talks to you in a raspy voice. It's confirmed by his spirit that wanders the Soul Cairn in Skyrim.
You guys are really enjoyable, I look forward to more. Might give Oblivion another whirl just because of this
Little did they know, the advantage that this decision gave them in the future
Since he had a bounty of 69,360 septims, he was in jail for a total of 640 days lmao
Yes, I actually went to the unofficial elder scrolls pages and did the math.
I love these videos 😂 I feel like I'm hanging out with an old friend 😂 this how we used to play his game 😂😂
I'm so glad you pointed out that severed head! I noticed that my first playthrough as well and it creeped me the fuck out and it's so weird that's it's even in there in the first place!
These are great videos, top notch entertainment. Keep these coming!
They use those creepy heads at 5:58 in oblivion realms as heads on spikes. There are some that stand on the entrance of the bridge at the start of the first gate
RIP OLD MAN
"You might want to go to prison sometime" "...yeah" Like it's some small, inconvenient thing 😂
Mass murdering criminal trying to find time in his busy schedule to serve time. Keep up the great videos ☺
Their laughter is genuinely contagious!
bro has got resting bounty face
Love this guys. I don't care if it is a serious play of the main story or if it is just fucking around. Good Stuff!
The only let's play I've enjoyed watching
Told to go meet Bauras
Goes to jail for two years instead
Baurus*
The severed head at around 5:45 is Jiub, from the beginning of Morrowind. It was just a little easter egg that was followed up on by being able to talk to his spirit in Skyrim. That's why it's nowhere else in the game.
I kept watching this video since the day it was uploaded, the way he says Amulet of King’s is funny
"Leave me alone."
If I got knocked unconscious by small creatures shooting fire I would be pretty mad.
Really enjoying this playthru with u guys ! Can't wait for more episodes (:
