    *By functional I mean you can comfortably swing or carry it **bestgym.equipment** around as one would expect of a kettlebell weight. By versatile I mean the protective coating does not prevent attaching magnetic micro-plates to increase the weight, so, for example, a 35 pound kettlebell can be increased by up to 5 pounds in weight or possibly a bit more by attaching magnetic micro-plates.*

    I've never had so much fun in my shed :0)
    So many great videos and variety of exercises, I never get bored....in fact I actually look forward to getting out there and sweating every day.......
    I'm probably not the only one out there using your videos in this way but I thought I'd share my routine with you all anyway....
    1 x 5min cardio or kettlebell warm up.
    1 x cardio or kettlebell fat burner workout.
    1x 5 min flat stomach abs workout.
    Time wise and energy wise it's the ideal workout for me each day before I go to work.
    Another quick point I'd like to make is if anyone is considering buying or upgrading a kettlebell then I'd go for the pro type you use in the video. They may be more expensive but I'm using a cheap iron mould type that I started out with which is still good enough for throwing around but unfortunately not stable enough for some of the exercises where you have to lean on the bell to do sprawls etc.
    Now off to buy one of those baby's and up the weight at the same time.
    Cheers for the inspiration and keep them videos coming.

      Thanks for sharing & keep killin' it brother! Going with the pro-grade kettlebells is definitely worth it. One 16kg is a great way to start your collection. Then a 20-24kg, then another one of each & you'll have limitless possibilities. Cheers!

    Max ive been doing this workout almost everyday followed by 30-35 mins on the elliptical burning 5-600 calories. I'm down from 204 to 188 in about 6 weeks ( also doing a 1200 calorie diet) how many calories would you say you burn in this 12 minute workout? thanks!!!

    Any recommendations for someone who has had major injury? After getting hurt overseas in USMC and having 3 lower back fusions with rods, neck fusion, replaced left knee and both lungs collapsed as well as multiple unwanted holes in to torso I am looking to get back in to improved range of movement, regain strength improve cardio. I'll need to go slower to begin with to ensure I don't wreck back, neck, knee and end up dormant again- good news is I have tons of discipline and focus and lots of previous exercise and fitness experience just never with kettlebells that I am buying today as I think they'll help with range of movement. Thanks!

    • @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury
      @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury  8 років тому

      Sure thing & glad to connect! It's super important to listen to the body, injury or not. Kettlebells are a fantastic way to build strength, cardio & endurance. They also happen to to fun & great for fat loss, too. Investing in a quality set is a wise investment. You will not go wrong with these - amzn.to/2b1GbqH

      +Corey Taylor For men, we recommend 15-25 lbs to start with. Also, we have a bunch of beginners kettlebell workouts right here on our channel for you guys just starting out with KB's...which will be a better way to begin your journey with them!

      Thanks for the reply. I really need to lose some serious weight and burn fat. Can you recommend something from your channel? I have been going to a kickboxing/kettlebell class for two months now and I love it. The problem is that it is once a week only. I know it is not enough for cardio. I have a 30lb competition KB. What exercise can I do at home for cardio? I read about the Tabatha 4 min workout. Do you think it is enough? If it is, I will start doing it seven days a week.

    • @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury
      @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury  8 років тому

      jtcber No problem :) All of our workouts are designed for fat burning. You will lose weight by creating a daily caloric deficit through food & exercise. 4min tabatas are definitely good, but not enough. Try our 10 min cardio workouts & 10 min beginner kettlebell workouts. You may repeat them each several times per session. With consistency, you'll get great results!

    I weigh 226 pounds and I want to lose 25 pounds by the end of the year. Last year I did strictly HIIT on stairmaster for 25 minutes and lost 22 pounds in 3 months. but to be honest I didn't burn fat. My girlfriend told me to try the kettlebell, is this better than HIIT cardio? and can I lose 25 pounds with this??

    • @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury
      @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury  7 років тому +2

      Kettlebell training is awesome for burning fat & creating long lean muscle. Our workouts always consist of high intensity, some moves with just bodyweight & others with kettlebells like this one. That combination will get you great results, if you focus on eating cleaner too! You can lose the 25 lbs, but we don't recommend doing it in less than 2 months, like you're planning. When we do extreme things, usually they backfire & the weight comes right back on. We suggest aiming for 1lbs per week...very doable & you'll keep it off :)

    I am wondering, how does one access the needed size they need? I have a 5lb and I find that, as long as I do pleanty of reps I'm good. It does what it needs to, but other times it is just too light. Should I go up?

      Congrats on your new KB purchase! What kind did you get? The great thing about our programming, is that you can workout every day with them, if you desire. Alternate between them often & you may repeat them if you have more time, that day. Jump rope makes a great 5-10 minute warmup, and then you can hit the bag after with what you have left 😅

    My colleague had lost an ridiculous amount of weight so of course I was curious. They will suggested that I google “sowo amazing plan”. The days following it all melted off, I lost a total of 13 lbs.

    I'm not sure but ,if anyone else wants to uncover functional kettlebell exercises try Alkarno Kettlebell Alchemist ( search on google ) ? Ive heard some pretty good things about it and my colleague got excellent results with it.

    the slingshot move seems useless and I feel absolutely nothing when I do it.

    • @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury
      @MaxsBestBootcampDanbury  8 років тому

      +Andrew Dalamba The slingshot, like all core drills, requires you to engage you abs to reap the benefits. It's like doing a standing plank with weight plus rotation! As you rotate, try to really brace your core & exhale with the movement. It may take some playing around to really get it right :)

      +Max's Best Bootcamp appreciate the reply man. I've been doing this for the past few days, when I first started I could barely get through a few minutes of it without exhausting myself, but now I can do almost the whole thing without stopping! Appreciate the vid.

    What is this madness? That workout isn't for anyone overweight and looking to burn off fat. That is for an advanced person who is already in shape. Overweight people don't have that much flexibility, and what about us over 40's with bad ankles and knees from too much team sport in our youth? You are more likely to pull or tear a muscle, or twist an ankle doing all those jumps!

    • @dannygeen
      @dannygeen 8 років тому +6

      Quit whining and get your butt of that chair. There are alot of exercises for overweighted people. for example, swimming is a great overall bodyworkout. I lost 12 kg in 6 months, simply by changing my diet and doing weight training. So no excuses! Only YOU can do it

    • @richardboldbrooker6327
      @richardboldbrooker6327 8 років тому +1

      Shows what you know. I've lost 56 pounds (25 kg) from proper nutrition and kettlebell HIIT and dumbbell training so far this year. I stand by everything I said. That KB routine is bullshit! A lot of people looking to turn things around wouldn't be able to do that routine and are more likely to sink into more despair, if not just plain injure themselves, if they tried that workout. I'm not the type of person who would critic a training program if I was still on the sofa drinking larger and stuffing my face with pizza. I've had years of experience doing various exercises and diets. I've also read the more academic papers on exercise. Which by the way claim that swimming, cycling, treadmills, and exercise routines over 40 minutes DON'T help you lose weight. So don't assume that you know me, or 'my type'.

    That kettlebell looks blue to me ... 12 kg / 26.4 lbs. Not 40 lbs

      It does look a bit blue here, however it's a light purple 18kg competition kettlebell.
