I hope you realize how helpful your videos are. Seriously, watching your videos has impacted how I make work more than any other creator on youtube, and I'm sure I'm not alone. Your willingness to share your expertise is absolutely an inspiration. I can only speak for myself, but I can say you, good sir, make the world a better place. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.
Thanks so much! I greatly appreciate the encouragement. It’s tough at times figuring out what kind of videos to make or some days whether I even should or not.
I’m eating twisted pasta while watching this twisted video-How twisted is that?! 🤭 Thank you for sharing your expertise! I learn something new from every video you upload! 🎉
Your timing couldn’t be better . We are trimming and handling our mugs from last week. I know you have been super busy. Thanks for making this second video! We’ll post you pictures when we are done😉🌸
Love the video - not a fan of the music 😂, had to mute it. No biggie. These twisty mugs are amazing, and the handles are beautiful. I SO want to hold one :)
Your videos helped me a lot. I was not feeling motivated to be in the studio throwing mugs. Now something new I want to try! Is it me or does every potter get unmotivated at times? Any how, Thank you for the boost! I was in Seagrove just over a week ago and was able to see some of your pieces at the NC Pottery Center! My son and his wife took me to Seagrove for Mother's Day, while I was visiting them. Your pieces are lovely! I enjoyed the center as well! Cheers from TX.
I love that method of handle making.. it looks so good on the mugs! I’ll have to send some pics through Instagram later! I used 1.5 pounds of clay… I think it was too much, so I’m going to cut back to 1.25 lb. They are pretty weighty lol
Thanks so much. They definitely are weighty but these pieces are not about the weight as much as the design. These handles took much longer than my normal ones but they are worth it on these mugs.
Great video! Very helpful. As far as centering in your chuck, would a dot or bubble level help? I would think if the foot is level then it should be centered on the chuck. Idk, just my 2 cents.
We were wondering how you attached handles to the twisted mugs. Two of us in our studio were trying this yesterday. We could not get the twist as far down as you. Maybe too wet?
When I did mine I dried my hand off and was able to get a tighter twist. Be careful of the clay grabbing though. Had a few cups wrap up around my hand.

These are beautiful. Such an amazing technique.

I threw a few spiraled cups a few weeks ago and absolutely love this method. They look so cool when the glaze breaks on the high points

Thankyou for sharing both great videos!
These are going to be beautiful

Yes everyone who is creative has unmotivated times, some more often or more severe but there’s always great inspiration out there

That might help. I’ll give it a try… once I find a small level, I probably have one, if not I’ll have to buy one.
Beautiful!
The forms looks stiff, beyond leather hard, when you attach the handles.

Yes the clay probably does need to grab a little to get more twist. Good observation
Which diamond tool were you using to trim your foot?
That’s the T1 Half Dome
