Love the cheering and marching music to open. The tiara is definitely on point. I have acquired several of these based on your recommendation. I'll let you know how I get on with them.
Awesome video Daisy! Ink Blood Sister Scribe sounds really good. I haven’t ever heard of it. I’m a huge fan of Sandman in all forms. The audio adaptation is so, so good! Legends and Lattes was definitely one of my favorites for the year.
Thanks, Chas! I should have mentioned the first two chapters of Ink Blood Sister Scribe may be a little overwrought/overwritten but then it really kicks into gear!
I can't wait to read the Final Architecture trilogy starting next month. The more I hear about Ink Blood Sister Scribe, the more intrigued I am by it! I am excited to read more Glen Cook and Michael Moorcock and finally tackling Melvyn Peake's Gormenghast trilogy in 2024!
I finally started The Vanished Birds and am loving it! I really enjoyed Final Architecture--reminds me of classic SF. Gormenghast is really hard to read for me, but I have a feeling you'll enjoy it!
I have read The Book Eaters, the Flavia De Luce books, and I already had Light From Uncommon Stars and The Book That Wouldn’t Burn on my wishlist, and I have just added On Earth As It Is On Television and Legends and Lattes to my list.
well I wish I'd been an eleven-year chemistry genius like flavia maybe I wouldn't have been thrown out of the school chemistry lab by a certain b word teacher haha some things u never forget⚛😀
No wonder the Sandman audiobook spoiled you. Despite the Spanish version is great, with excellent actors, after listening to season 1 and 2 in English, I couldn't bring myself to listening to season 3 in Spanish.
@@DaisyXMachina The Murderbot Diaries and the Dresden Files do the trick for me 😸. I love Kevin R. Free's and James Marsters' interpretations. And being first person narratives the full cast is not missed so much.
What was your top read of 2023?
Assassin's Fate has held the top spot as my favorite of the year since I read it in January. Though Don Quixote came really close to toppling Hobb!
@@SheWasOnlyEvie Alas, ever since he met a windmill, Don Quixote has trouble toppling anything!

I really enjoy your enlightenment on what great books are out there! It is really appreciated!
I appreciate that!

Excellent! I'd love to know your thoughts!
I really need to try The Book Eaters. Really liked your list Dax! This was a good video! ❤
Thank you! I think you'll like it!

I loved Light from Uncommon Stars too. I hadn’t heard of Emily Jane or On Earth as it is on Television; I would like to read that.
Uncommon Stars was so good! Not surprised you hadn't heard of Emily Jane--On Earth was her debut book. Will be interesting seeing her career unfold!
