Thanks, I am going to check out the Mur Lafferty books and even the starter villain book! I could really use some fun to read books during the winter months! Stay well!
I have only read ‘Starter Villain’ which I bless but I do plan to read ‘On Earth as It is on Television’ and the Mur Lafferty books sometimes this year.
Oh have you read A Wizard's Guide To Defensive Baking by T. Kingfisher? LOVED IT. One of the best book I read last year. I recommend it, if you haven't! I have Station Eternity but haven't read it yet. Knowing that they read like an Agatha Christie though has made it suddenly much more interesting! Another great video! ❤
Wizard's Guide was the first Kingfisher I read and have since read several more of her novels--including her middle grade children's under a different pen name!
I enjoyed Starter Villain a lot because cats and Scalzi's humor is totally my brand. I didn't dislike Kaiju either but I wouldn't say it is one of my favorites. On Earth as it is in Television is on TBR and I might even get to it in February.
I enjoyed Starter Villain a lot too! I didn't dislike Kaiju--I just thought the humor didn't work with the storyline (when a character doesn't take a situation seriously when it's life or death than I find myself not caring about the situation). Hope you enjoy On Earth!!!
Kinda funny-with your review of “ …On TV”: space ships appearing over cities- your reference was “Independence Day” while my first thought was Clark’s “Childhoods End”
Read Starter Villain because Scalzi. Thought it was fun, though a bit slight. Very fast read. To see him at his best, read The Interdependency series, which is much more ambitious and incidentally funnier than Starter Villain.
@@DaisyXMachina The novel that first gained him a lot of attention was Old Man's War (2005), which led to a series of (so far) six other books in that universe.
Have you read any of these six books?

They're both fun books!
I've somehow never caught these catch-ups/updates before and I loved this!!
Well, I only do it 2x a year!
Awesome video Daisy! I remember the video where you chose Chaos Terminal. That series sounds fun. Starter Villain sounds right up my alley.
I think you'd like both!
I love these updates of my favorite series!
Thank you!

I'm curious what you'd think of On Earth! The Mur Lafferty books are light fun.
I love your reviews! I recently got On Earth as It Is on Television from seeing it in your previous video. Can’t wait to get to it.
Hope you enjoy it!

Heh! I don't think I've seen Midsommer Murders but definitely heard of it and know the Midsolar books are a play on it!

Oh, cool, I've been wondering what books put Scalzi on the map!
