Heinlein, Allen Steele, Spider Robinson, John Scalzi, Elizabeth Moon, Steve Perry, David Gerrold, in no particular order. Thanks for posting videos here, great content.
Lovely list. Some authors I've never heard of. There are two specific ones you missed. Number one is VERY significant. I'm not Czech I'm English, but I live there. Karel Čapek author of RUR. There's a word he coined. The second one is personal. Jan Weiss, another Czech pioneer and credited with writing one of the first of the genre (and I was one of the editors for the English version - strangely listed as Robin Wright who had NOTHING to do with the edit.).
I have read sci fi authors for decades and wish I could remember their names. I only remember the plot of the stores because they made such an impact on me. They were so good, I saw them in my mind as movies while I was reading them. One that I keep thinking about was about time travel. History grad students of the future were allowed to time travel for their thesis. One young man was sent to London during WWII. I really wish I could find it so I could read it again. Another I can't stop thinking about was about a small, strange creature, possibly from another world. A man comes across it one night while visiting his girlfriend. He wants to kill it, but his girlfriend won't let him. She takes it in as a pet and it turns out there are others showing up that women just can't resist; they adopt them and devote their lives to taking care of these creatures (like cat ladies, lol) and stop caring about dating and marrying men.

Heh, so many names I've forgotten as well! There is a place on Goodreads that helps people track down forgotten books!
