I have always had a fascination for ballet since I was 4 and I really regret not starting earlier when I had the chance. My father never had the money and refused to help me enroll, but now I’m taking my life in my own hands as a 23 year old and this will be the start of my dream life. 🎉❤

I was a dancer my who life, but when I was 12, my parents went through a financial crisis and me, being the youngest of three, was the one who suffered the exit from my ballet classes. I always wanted to be a Rockette...jajaja After I had my daughters, I started again with Flamenco, Belly Dancing, Ballet.....So, I understand how you feel. I am now 53 and still dance just because it is something that resides so deep within us that we just cannot stop. I am still fit because of it, and hope to continue doing it for long time to come.

I'm 63 (soon to be 64) and was kicked out of ballet at age 7 because I was "a little dumpling; not at all a swan" along with nastier words. I went into Highland dancing, which I didn't like. I flirted with ballet over the years, and today, I'll be taking this class. I'll update my comment once I've finished the class 😊

I'm in my 50's, overweight and I haven't danced ballet for 30 years. I loved it so much as a young person, and allowed life to get in the way of continuing. I do yoga regularly, but decided to re-learn some ballet. Wow, I had forgotten how much muscle and balance this dance requires. Somehow it seemed so much easier in my 20's lol. Thanks for getting me back on track; I hope to continue practicing and getting my form back.

I have taken about 10 ballet lessons as an adult. Five with one teacher, and five with another teacher. They were supposed to be to beginning classes. But both of them were just teaching steps in order to do a dance routine.
I wanted to learn all the movements, so I can become more flexible, and more graceful. I wanted to learn the way as if I was three years old and didn’t know anything, because I didn’t. But they both taught me as though I would remember everything upon one hearing. Each time they would both say we talked about this last week or we learned that two weeks ago. I couldn’t even remember the first thing about it because the whole vocabulary is foreign to me. So very frustrating. Glad to find you. Thanks.

I'm changing my eating habits and incorporating exercise (cardio, strength training)into my schedule. I've always wanted to do ballet but dance lessons are a luxury when you're being raised and supported by a single mom. I'd like to incorporate ballet into my routine even if it's from my own living room: it just seems so elegant, peaceful and hopefully help with my flexibility. I just hope at this stage in life I can do it. ❤

I'm an adult...and admittedly I'm very overweight, lacking in coordination and flexibility, and I take a while to learn things.
My first try with this wasn't the best, but I still had fun! I had to give up after exercise 3 (I went back to the 1st exercise instead) since my balance and coordination are so bad that I was close to falling a few times.
But I'm sure that I'll get better at it with time and practice, so for now I'm sticking to the barre exercises to build up some strength and to get more familiar with all the movements.
Thank you for making this so fun and for giving such good explanations! They really helped me a lot and while I can't keep up just yet, I'm positive it won't be long until I can!

I did ballet from when I was 3 and quit at 9 started again at 11 ended at 12 (because I gained weight and ballet became much harder especially on the knees and my ankles could not support my weight) I always thought ballet was more of a chore back then something my mother wanted. But I’m 24 now and it’s all I want to do. I miss looking so elegant and frankly being older understand how good the workout was. So glad I found this now I can get back into it again! Still chubby but no quitting this time! 😅

That was absolutely beautiful. Thank you. Everything was so approachable for an absolute novice like myself - from your warm and welcoming personality, your fun delivery and the restful ending music, I enjoyed this so much. It's late night now and I've watched it through in preparation for trying it out tomorrow. I can't wait to wake up tomorrow and try this!

Yesterday I've attended the Le Corsaire performance in Hong Kong, and I'm intrigued about ballet!
Your steps are easy to follow (the only problem is my coordination haha)
And your humour make it so fun to learn, thank you!!

I was late entering Ballet at age 8, and never got the basics such as flexibility or certain moves. I only done 1 performances which was amazing but later I quit at age 12. I have regretted it but also realise through Lazy Dancer Tips, that my Ballet School was kinda poor. I wish in Ireland there are more verity of good Ballet Schools and have school to teach all ages like Lazy Dancer Tips do.
I really appreciate this especially as a 20 year old who still in love with Ballet and wants to learn

I know as we head into fall, we're eating heavier and it becomes harder to move. And it's nice to have less intense exercises, especially if dealing with sore or injured muscles.

I enjoyed this. As an absolute beginner, though, I had to slow the video down. It seems to move quite fast for someone who has never done ballet. Is this the norm for first ballet classes? Or, can someone suggest something that moves slower.

i didnt realize how much feet muscle you use during this, i might refer back to this just to strengthen my ankles, cause thats where i feel it the most, i could just be over arching my feet, but then again my feet are flat
