Dehydration is highly correlated with strokes
Combined that with enlarged hearts and all sorts of cardiomyopathies…
On top of all that- many body builders will take diuretics to further cut the water
Then they take amphetamines to get up for the pose down
This can permanently damage the heart, cause a stroke or an MI
Don’t underestimate dehydration- especially if you’re heart is already compromised

I experienced a full body muscle cramp. Not from show prep but from helping a friend move. I was sweating but nothing too bad. It started in my fingers then arms, toes, legs, back, shoulders, everywhere. I could only take very small steps, stopping was actually worse. I drank 4 lg bottles of gatorade and 2 bottles of water in a hour trying to make it stop. For a hour i experienced some of the most pain ever. I have never cried from pain but brother that was wicked. No i didn't tear up but if there was a time that would have done it. Nothing has been as painful. My friends had to literally give me the first two bottles, i couldn't move my arms or hands to hold it.
DO NOT JACK AROUND WITH THIS.

2 gallons a day..... either that's a load of bull or he has no idea that it a not physically possible to intake that much water around two-thirds of it would be wasted it would just pass right through to the the blader and you pee it right back out it order to stay hydrated your body doesn't just need water it need salts too the kidneys can only handle so much water intake and it use what it can and gets rid of the rest.
You can die from what is known as water intoxication. Drinking too much water is as unhealthy as too little water intake.

Not really. I drink a gallon of water a day, and I don't work out regularly.
When I do work out, I drink even more water.
The average man needs to drink one gallon of water per day according to the Mayo Clinic.
If you work out, you need to drink more.
Two gallons of water a day for an athlete is about right.

Would the blood not get very thick? Would the body not retain electrolytes/salts/ions in order to retain water? Does the body lose water everywhere equally or does the body lose water more in muscles and blood before losing water in important organ systems?
The best a bodybuilder can do is to come in peeled by coming in with very low body fat and with separation in between the muscles to show muscle detail/striations/feathering by not having much water in between the skin and muscles.

It a amaze's me how these guys are supposed to be the picture of health, wellbeing and fitness but bodybuilding is probably the most unhealthy and taxing sport on the body. Plus they use all these anabolic, deuretics and only actually look at their best for a day or two during the week or so of the show because it is so taxing on the body. Yeah so supposed to be the picture of health and fitness when in actual fact it is probably the most unhealthy sport that you can participate in. That's why so many people have died either while actually competing or within a day or two after. Respect to them, they are very dedicated and work harder than any other athlete but what they do is very dangerous. Much love and respect for you guys and gals and the other things in between
