It’s crazy how high the production value on this is, yet the actually demonstrations are actually showing the opposite of the Djokovic BH. He is hitting the Berettini BH here, you can see his racquet only moves about 2 inches in the acceleration phase, compared to the huge movement of Djokovic in the slow-mo vid provided
This is a good video but if you look at Joker's "backhand drop," it's much lower than yours (strings pointing to the ground and racket below the knee) When looking at your backhand drop it's not as low so you don't see much of the lag effect.
4:30 "ATP racquet flip" Do the women do it any different on their 2Hander? I know about the forehand ATP flip vs the larger WTA backswing. But I thought the men and women have the same style on 2H backhand.
terrific as usual. I first started watching your volley videos, but those links no longer work since your going solo. Those were great, and I even referred them to other players. Will you be making those available in the new channel soon? Or, if you feel like making something new, I'd love to see a comparison of technique used for a backhand slice from the baseline, backhand slice from the service line (approach shot), and one-hand backhand volley. They all seem related, but also slightly different (for example, swing length).
Awesome video. Your videos are the best. How does he bet the face to close so much, is it the grip that he uses or does he turn his hands on the takeback. Thank you
The explanation is good but the execution is not quite looking like Djokovic. Your left arm remains straight and therefore the racket drop and acceleration are far from what Djokovic generates.
During the whole video your front foot was parallel to the baseline, instead of pointing to the net. If it is parallel to the baseline, you are not letting your hips fully open thus reducing the power of the shot. Otherwise good video.
Exactly this. Looks nothing like Djokovic backhand because of the stance of your feet. You’re not able to get the power in the right direction. Djokovic stance is parallel to the midline. He has control of direction and power. You have power but no control of direction. Or you’ll have control but no power. Not optimal.
Maybe you shouldn’t focus on that flip especially while you’re learning the stroke. Hopefully it will happen naturally when you’re really loose and do all the fundamentals correctly as shown in the video. Besides, some top pros hardly have any flip like Del Potro for example.
Total BS. This is NOT what Djokovic does. You are teaching people Alcaraz's backhand and you think it's what Djokovic does. Joker makes a small loop with his hands before he pulls his racquet forward. Alcaraz on the other hand, pivots his racquet on the dime from the "6:30" position as he pulls his racquet forward.
The scenery of this tennis court is beautiful
this is the clearest explanation so far of Djoko's backhand. I've always wondered how to execute the racket head drop. thanks.
This is exactly what I've been looking for. thanks for the great lesson.
The "Sham Wow" of tennis coaching. Meant to be a compliment.
Wow. Agree clearest explanation of Djoko backhand…. Arms, angles, etc
That gorgeous effortless ughh😮
Nice work on explaining this complicated sequence of events

now, I could only remember to do that when I am actually playing tennis. :)

Very nice!
When the instructions are good, we subscribe naturally. Thanks!
Can you show me Djokovic forehand and how he grip his racquet or what grip did he uses?
I believe he uses a semi-western
Dear Grant. Which is the dominant arm. Right or left. (for right handed). İs it a left hand forehand. Some say so, some are against it. I am confused😀
Great vid! The advice of just hit a "lefty forehand" as harmed millions of players at all levels for the past 30+ years. Your vid is refreshing,!
Truly a great instructional video. Thanks!!! Agassi is my fav backhand but this rocks too!
Good call. My favourite player from back in the day. But Stan the man has the best backhand in tennis 🎾
great video, thanks very much! the useless grunt gets me everytime😂😂😂😂
Very nice video with easy steps. One question where the ideal contact point should be (upper part of head, lower or middle ) especially for backhand?
Thank you so much!
I am beniffited watching this viedo.I would like to practice at your academy.
Could you share at point grip should change?
can u elaborate on the grip used?

They are all scheduled to be republished here!
great explanation…
tho I think the grunt is the key to unlocking the magic 🤪
just curios why there are 3 storage mini house on the court?
Dr. Brian Gordon is super!I visited him 3 times. The backhand setup photo of me is on his websie ( under virtual learning). Like your videos!
Which grips are you using?
0:52 joker play lefty ?
Is it possible to come and learn at your Tennis academy..
DM me on instagram @grantvanderhayden
What grip do you use? For both hands pls 😃
5:30 shoulder internal rotation is key yo
Awesome video. Your videos are the best. How does he bet the face to close so much, is it the grip that he uses or does he turn his hands on the takeback. Thank you
very good as usual. Are you going to do something for the one handed backhand?
Yes!
The explanation is good but the execution is not quite looking like Djokovic. Your left arm remains straight and therefore the racket drop and acceleration are far from what Djokovic generates.
The grunt during a hand fed demo 😂🤦🏼♂️
❤

What is the technique when the height of the ball on contact is higher?
Your backhand has no lag like Djokovic or any of the top ATP pros
Are you no longer part of racquet flex
Yes I am solo
i tried to search some videos about federer's forehand but it is impossible

Good vid but Stan The Man has the better backhand 😊

Yeah, I’m sure it’s that easy lol
the closed stance backhand is a terrible strategy for left eye dominant right handed players
The problem with this video is you filmed yourself more than the analysis of the player's backhand. Not many people wants to see you.. LOL
Let’s see a video of you hitting against someone. Feeding the ball to yourself doesn’t prove anything.
two much camera switching. Cant finish watching it.
dont overplaying
Good try but your backhand is more awkward
Easy effortless control than hits 2m out 😂😂😂🎉
What's up with those silly grunts?.. "ughh"
😂😂😂
