Great Video! Novak is My Favorite Player. I’m a Senior Player at Age 70. I have Played Tennis 🎾 for 50 Years! I Played 2 Years in College. I Won some Club Tournaments. I have used a One Handed Backhand. I would Like to Learn a Good Two Handed Backhand, to get more Power. I have lost some as I got older. Thank you for your Amazing Videos and Tips! You’re a Great Teacher!
this is the best double handed backhand tip I received so far, turning the knees is the key to generate the power, I never thought about this!! thank you!!
People always talk about how effortless and graceful Federer looks. I agree with that, but Djokovic's forehand and backhand always look so effortless to me as well. His strokes are so smooth. Great video.
All great tips. Something you did not spend enough time on is the actual point of contact and the strike zone. One thing Novak is brilliant at doing is controlling the strike zone. He uses the knee bend to adjust his point of contact so it is consistently in the same spot every time. In my opinion that is (perhaps) the single greatest contributor to his consistency. Agassi was also an absolute master at controlling the strike zone. This is one of the biggest mistakes club players make. Their racquet head and point of contact are all over the place. Get those feet moving with little adjustment steps and bend the knees to get down so you're hitting the ball in the same spot every time. Consciously focus on that one element of your game until you do it automatically without thinking. P.S. I'm not team Novak at all, but will freely admit this guy has the absolute best groundstrokes of any human who has ever picked up a racquet. He is a machine. If you want to learn how to play the game correctly and with grips that are certainly doable for a club player, then Novak is your guy.
man oh man! do I regret not having discovered your channel sooner! ! 😤... you Sir are by far the best tennis coach UA-camr I have seen, you have the knack to explain things very accurately and eloquently to where I find it really easy to understand, you seriously are way better in my humble opinion than Patrick Mouratoglou, I'm gonna watch all your videos, thank you for the quality lessons ! : )
One key thing here is around 6:40 : the straightening of the dominant arm in the stir literally makes you want to drop the racquet and go. The backhand drop has never felt natural to me until I was aware of what the dominant arm’s role is
The slowmo video at 6:28 seconds of Novak really shows how this works. His backhand drop is so low it looks like he is going to hit low to high but it actually just bends and pushes forward . Great video!
Thank for great lesson! Best I found, especially things about amount of rac drop and little "stir" :) for smoothness, I think its crucial and no one else talk about it.
Thanks Coach Kevin! I've been turning the knee on the b/h about as well as a sleestack on the Land of the Lost. Great clear and concise explanation! It really ties right back in to the importance of playing on the forefoot as well
Nice lesson!! this video helps me a lot from my two handed backhand and the most important thing that i don't have is the stir momentum that's why i have a tense muscle when hitting my two handed backhand.
Excellent video, but instead of saying take your racquet back to the student, say unit turn and your racquet will go back. This is the mistake most club players do. So the whole lessons basically unit turn, hip turn or knee turn. Or you could say without moving your arms, belly to the side, belly button to the target.
I hit one hand backhand but two interesting ideas I got from this is using your hip rotation into ball. It's almost exactly like they teach in baseball and the proof is your back foot ends rotated around so your soles of your shoe ends almost totally exposed like yours. And two the ball drop drill is similar to the soft toss drill in hitting to work your mechanics only what's cool is in tennis you can do it all by yourself.
Yes, there's a lot similarity between baseball, golf and tennis. All are rotational sports that involve using the hips to drive the racquet, club, bat and arm. Thanks
@@TotalTennisDomination agreed. Baseball and tennis are the more similar because the player must respond to a ball traveling with velocities almost similar at points of contact.i played both and I often think a MLB shortstop has every prerequisite to be a great tennis player. I'm fascinated by the interconnection of various sports skills. Fun fact is Pete Rose and Joe Morgan were avid tennis players. I'm guessing could have been pros if not devoting their careers to baseball. And also I'm sure tennis helped them with their hitting.
Great analysis. Just notice Djokovich also turns his left shoulder up when he hit backbands, that it appears to be over his right shoulder. I’m wondering if there is a reason for that and if that is important?
I see you have Tennis Strategy videos from years ago. Channel idea, maybe you can make some new Strategy videos like “Djokavic baseline backhand attack strategy” or similar videos (I’m not a pro like you). Thanks for all your content. It’s really helped me get back into and improve on this beautiful game.

I think some mention of foot work and getting into position should be mentioned too .. Tennis can be looked as a hitting sport with some footwork or a movement , or footwork sport with some hitting
Thank you, so clear to me. I can tell he grabs the racquet separating both hands a bit. Is it common among pros? How long is that space? Thank you again!
the way Nole plays backhand, is that similar technique to Nadal's forehand? is it actually more drive with topspin rotation at the end or is it just a regular backhand topspin?
When he hits the ball he is not as I say flinching . He is or his hand and his head eyes and body are not sore . That is or might be his grip clean or suits his last meals or his ability to see the ball in front tight not be afraid or hitting the ball . Early coaching was not correcting but encouraging him to hit and watch the flight or not getting angry his play time in that hitting was his play his ability to determine all good things at the age appropriate
Hi Coach , very nice video and i hae been trying to follow your tips. However there is one problem with my game. when i practice self tossing the ball , i can get the timings right, but when i am in the middle of the game , I somehow cannot put that practice to work. any tips on how can i incorporate put the self tossing practice to games? Thanks much!!!
Great organization of directions. But, if you would speak a bit slower the student then has more time to intake instead of racing to keep up with your words.
What a great explanation by an expert and great detailed tutorial. Subscribe from me and looking forward for another lessons. Thank you for your work Sir!

They are true point of view...one hand is mich more beautiful to see
Not as smooth as Fognini. For me Fognini has the most natural, effortless 2HBH in the tour

Kevin, you rock! Just add in some feel based stuff (personal) and boom! That unit turn works on both ends so much. Work smarter NOT harder!
Thanks!
Great, thanks 👍

Can you do a video on David Nalbandian's bh and Fernando Gonzalez fh
Thanks for watching! I'll see what I can do.
@@TotalTennisDomination thanks!
One handed backhand is the best, most natural shot there’s out there. Two hands can’t compare.
حلقة جميلة، بس افضل ندخل في الموضوع على طول، استنينا نص الحلقة لاجابة السؤال.

Thank you I struggle with my back hand gonna try this out tomorrow

구독 좋아요 응원합니다!
Your arc of swing from the dropped racket position to ball contact is totally different than the way Djokovic is doing it.
I love how the pickleball Net and court is there
What racket is yours ??
Mantab 👍
Thanks!
did you split with ian?
Your video is really good! Can I share to Chinese channel?

I bet you this guy has a good golf swing. Very similar mechanics.
Yeah, I think there's a lot of similarities. Thanks

@@TotalTennisDomination sorry Kevin, I couldn’t help myself 😂
I think Rublev's backhand is very interesting
Squeezing the life out of the racquet.Bruh

У Джоковича очень длинные руки. Обычный человек просто не сможет так играть.
Hi Rosario pats d I vt
The backhand with two hands is not beautiful to see 👎🏻 I play tennis and I wanted to learn with one hand...much more class
is that a banana peel?
Thanks for a great and useful insight 🎾
